In older versions of Ravenloft (I think around 2nd edition AD&D is when the book I'm thinking of is from?) Strahd had two brothers, Sergei and Sturm, and referred to Sergei as his favourite brother. However, Strahd's whole thing is he killed Sergei to obtain dark powers to try and win Tatyana's affection.

My question is what the fuck did Sturm do that, despite all that, he's still Strahd's least favourite brother?

sometimes dnd archetypes annoy me because like. at the core of a paladin oath it's being so dedicated to something it gives you superpowers

they're not christian camp counselors or cops they're fucking autistic

#posts like this always make me think of my Paladin Cei #the way he started as Oath of Crown #a choice he made but never enjoyed #a choice that was pushed onto him by his family #and he BROKE that oath in the most spectacular way possible #he personally cut down the High Observer of Elturgard! #he broke the Creed Resolute in front of his party! #and he rode with his broken oath until he steeled himself to take a new oath #before diving into Avernus to rescue his family and loved ones he took up Oath of Vengeance #and that was SUCH a good moment of that campaign #it was the turning point for his character #he went from a reluctant knight out committing crime #to an actual hero who fought and redeemed Zariel #I’m getting carried away thinking about that campaign it was the best one I have ever played #but my boy made saving his family the core of his person #and became literally more than human because of it
