she can’t help the ghost of a smile that lifts her lips, the plush skin of his own meeting so delicately with the expanse of her jawline, and it’s a familiar warmth that makes her close her eyes and reflect on the moment. her, a different creature altogether, tucked into the arms of a boy with big shoes to fill and even bigger demons to fight. “i swear, one of these days this steam of yours is gonna run out, and i can already see the whiny little thing you’ll be for some affection.”
she grasps his chin with soft, but firm fingers, his lips pressed to her own instead of the skin of her jaw. she holds him there for a moment, her own lips moving against his in a steady rhythm, but the heat isn’t high ( not when his eyes seem so hollow, bags she’s seen so many times starting to come back after being gone only a few days ).
“anything bubbly would be nice, you know i’m not particularly picky,” she purrs, releasing him slowly, her breath slightly staggered, and she moves to take her jacket off in this new found warmth. “besides, you’ve got good taste, obviously. we’ll have a good time, my dear.”
her words almost make him laugh out loud, almost. if it weren’t for the fact that he already craved attention instead of being alone then perhaps he would have found it more amusing. instead a smirk lights up his features, giving him the passion he’d been lacking before. “do you really think so lowly of me, my princess?” his fingers toying with a strand of her hair, eyes watching as they did.
a sofy hum escapes his lips when they’re greeted by the warmth of her own. a small surprise that catches him off guard for a mere second before his hand finds its place at her hip, lips pressing back firmly and deepening the rather tame kiss between the two of them.
“says the woman who looks at me with disgust when i use the cheaper one.” a chuckle exhales past his lips, free hand coming up to cup her cheek for a second. thumb wiping across them in his interest before he’s already up and gliding across to the alcohol table he proudly displayed in his room. “we always have a good time, love. you always seem to think so from the noises you make.”

@ccxharu
he had to admit that above all else his ability to sense magical beings was pretty good (except of course from his off days and those times when he was preoccupied by other and more important things) so of course whenever he felt a magical presence he acted on it accordingly, whether that was casually following someone to see what they were up to or down right calling them out.
which was exactly the idea he had in mind. right now.
“oi you.” he calls out rather loudly, causing a few mundanes to pay him a little attention before they realised it wasnt them he was talking to, but rather the man stood before him with his back turned. getting on with their daily lives and ignoring taemin and his target (as he liked to call them) all together.
“im talking to you, dont you know its rude to ignore someone?” he teases in the blunt and curt voice he usually had. today he really didnt have time to play any games. he was going to eliminate the card there and then and he didnt care what it took or how many people saw them he was going to capture them and get him into hq as quickly as possible.

most people often found it odd that the heir to a lavish and billion dollar hotel chain business man, would voluntarily spend the majority of his evenings (and free time) entertaining others as a host. he was set for life right? he didn’t even have to lift a finger and the world would be at his disposal. but that didn’t mean over time it would become just another routine day or doing the same old boring things every time. for taemin that life had become to dull for his liking and enjoyed the pleasures that being a host brought him, in more ways than one.
tonight found him bouncing around from client to client, mingling and sharing the odd drink or three here and there. to taemin it was just like any other night, and he was having a lot of fun so far (little did he know he was about to have some more.) he enjoyed the mass of different people the host club would real in - whether it was first timers who had no idea what they were doing, people who just needed someone to talk to or to those who expected a little more than just the normal services.
he’d decided another drink was in order when he apologised to a couple of people he was with and dipped out towards the bar. on his way back he spotted something interesting and decided to get a better look at the situation. only maybe he’d gotten a little too close when the girl bumped into him nearly making him spill the half a glass of champagne he had left in his hands and all over the both of them. “its quite alright but- my my it seems we have a little lost lamb.” he remarks with a teasing tone.
` out of place.
&. @cctaemin
there were many places to explore in the city as sejeong was about ready to scower all of it. she didn’t think about going home as always because what good would that do? she didn’t went to enter a hell home just to lock herself in her room and either was her friends as they’d tempt her into going forth late in the night. she wasn’t going to disagree as sejeong casually skips home for a chance to go out… clubbing (what she had expected anyway). it was a particular host club that she happened to hear so much about as they had suggested she’d visit, mostly out of curiosity.
sejeong had barely managed yet at least she was successful without being caught. to someone who has never gone to a place like this, it wasn’t really anything that she had expected besides the older males surrounding them who worked there. sejeong could only hope that she could maneuver around without being noticed or attempt to let herself go the moment she could enter the place, she wasn’t sure. all she knew was that she was completely out of place, attempting to disappear into the crowd by just sticking by her friend’ side.
but no, that wasn’t the case either when she didn’t expect to lose them to easily in this crowd but throughout the night, almost in the span of five minutes, visitors came and they came and now she was by her lonesome and it became slightly awkward by herself. she lets out a sigh, casually backing away just to let everyone else through but still managing to bump into someone in the process. her head turns and she didn’t expect an employee, staring at him apologetically. “whoops! i didn’t see you there, sorry!” nice going sejeong, way to keep yourself from being noticed.

; ready or not
Unless you’re waiting for a lovely retirement notice, any letters issued by the Governing Body rarely contain good news. Your team leader hands you an ivory envelope with a silver seal, upon which an image of two swords clashing is embossed. Whichever secretary had been told to write your name has impeccable handwriting.
Once you decide to open it, a dark grey paper is crisply folded three times. It reads the following:
Greetings, LEE TAEMIN
This is a formal notice that you will be placed into Rotation B, as ordained by the Governing Body. We will be arriving for an impromptu observation to see how you perform when group dynamics are suddenly, inexplicably changed. We are intrigued by the Busan League’s high performance and are considering you for an elite mission. It’s of the highest caliber and will possibly require the assistance of humans and/or cards, which is why it is essential to test your adaptability.
The elite mission your league is being considered for will pay generously, as well as contribute to your ranking when an official inspection is scheduled. In addition to monetary reward, we will allot funds to upgrade your training room equipment at HQ.
Currently, we are also considering the Changsha and Saint Petersburg leagues to be assigned this mission. We can only choose one, so know your competition and be prepared to perform. Be brave. Be bold. Be ready to work as a team.
- The Governing Body
his eyes lock onto the small envelope presented before him. notcing the finery of it and just how expensive it must have been. but rather then oogling it comes as no surprise to him, especially after he’d been brought up with a silver spoon in his mouth. though despite his pompous ways, he realises quickly that its not like everything else. not when it’d been handed to him by his team leader.
taemin’s curiosity gets the better of him and soon enough he’s tearing into the paper, pulling out the rather ugly dark grey paper and opening it to see what this was all about.
a grin spreads across his lips. one of those wide grins that suggests taemin’s brain was going into overdrive with all the thoughts buzzing round his brain. to say he was hyped up would be the understatement of the season.
he hadnt read past the word elite before he’d made up his mind. taemin had talents and he knew that they would accept it sooner or later - though it was mostly just him filling his egotistical mind with the ideas he was the greatest.
folding the piece of paper back up as it had previously been, he tucks it into the inside pocket of his coat. his wide, cheshire like grin still intact on his lips as he preps himself to boast to anyone and everyone that would listen (little did he know he wasn’t the only one to receive the letter.) he had to tell everyone- had to let them know he was going to do his best and that he was born for this.

death of a bachelor .
taemin was an asshole and sometimes didn’t play nice to his teammates, but that didn’t mean he never helped them from time to time, in the times where things seemed dire or meant one of his team would die as a result. so when he’d caught wind of what was going on, he knew it was time to suck in his pride and be there for his comrades, his friends.
in all honesty he wasn’t sure how this had happened. how the league and all of the hero organisations let the hanged man take control and kill thousands of rookies. they called it the rookie massacre, and it was a war that was far from over. it made his blood boil not only at the hanged man and those who had chosen to side with him but every damn person that let this happen in the first place. he had to be on his guard more now then ever, but all he wanted to do was get a good nights sleep and some decent food with minji and jongin. bravely - or rather stupidly, he’d decided to go on a walk in the hopes it would cheer him up a little and keep him awake.
it was working, to an extent. but he could feel the tiredness in his eyes, feel how occasionally his eyes would droop as he dragged his feet around the park.
despite the messed up things that were happening the lake looked serene. as if none of the chaos had ever happened and everything was back to normal. the moon glistening and the stars twinkling against the soothing ripples of the water. taemin had to stop and stare for a while, eyes lingering on the reflections and thinking back to more happier times. times where for once he was actually having fun and not pressured to be the best he could be and always alert.carrying on his walk, he came to the bridge in the park. it had become his space over the years. a place where if things got too much or he wanted to hide from the overbearing nannies and butlers he’d go to. dragging his sorry ass back to them before too long. tonight it had become a place that brought back memories, some painful some better. some where he’d just listen to music and drown out the world (he was human too after all.)
theres a smile on his face but it doesnt last for long. not when theres a figure stood up ahead. he tries his best to make out who the figure was. eyes squinting in the hopes it would make things better but it didnt. his feet move before he realises and he’s moving to get a better view. a mans figure coming into view. “mark” he finds himself calling out, more so out of habit than anything else. his eyes focus on the man before him. calling out his name once more, just to make sure that it really was him.
“what are you doing here?”

comfort zone .
there was little left that taemin could say he needed to cross off his bucket list, if he even had one in the first place. the wealth that came from his fathers successful hotel chains allowed him to experience a life where nothing seemed to be off limits to him. but that didnt mean that there werent things he hadnt done in his life, for example going into the store called hot topic.
he’d wondered through the streets of busan, something he did on rare occurrence. especially when he was lurking around the cheaper shops compared to the more top class and expensive ones he was used to.
he’d heard of hot topic before - his snobby friends calling it the goth shop or whatever the hell they would call it. to taemin on the other hand it had been a complete and utter mystery. so of course here he was, eyes glaring up at the letters of the name of the shop that seemed to loom over him. he’d been stood there for a good moment before he finally sucked in a breath and walked in.
it was interesting to say the least.

it wasn’t like he did it on purpose, the whole being an asshole thing. it was just something that seemed to come naturally to him, made especially easy when his father didn’t pay him that much attention, his mother bailed on him and he was brought up with stacks of money at his disposal. if anything it was a recipe for him to become the bratty and selfish asshole that he’d grown up to be. giving anyone that came into contact with him good enough reason to hate his guts. there was a particular blonde that he especially loved being a dick too.
when his eyes caught glimpse of the all too familiar blonde, he just couldn’t help himself. feet whisking him over towards her direction and to make her life a living hell as much as he could before she should get back to the list of other things that he could be doing right at that moment.
upon closer inspection he realises she’s not only reading a book but listening to music. probably trying whatever she could to ignore him. but he wasn’t going to let her get away that easily. not when his prey was right before him and he was feeling a little peckish, in the end nature just did not work that way. he stands before her. inspecting her before he finally clears his throat to speak out.
“you know, you could try ignoring me a little harder.” his words soon followed by a chuckle before he carries on, leaning in towards her as his finger pulls one of her earbuds out so that she could actually hear him “though we both know that you could never ignore me, right princess?” and there it was. his famous cheshire grin.
eminty.
@cctaemin falls into a time slip
they’ve never been friends. he’s just a face in the crowd, a face too familiar for silver’s liking. there’s something growing in the pit of her stomach for taemin, and silver violently hopes it hatred, and not affinity. somehow in a very very strange and unsettling way, his presence is comforting, because it reminds her how much she absolutely dislikes humans. and to be honest, her dislike mostly stems from knowing him. she feels if she told him this, he’d be proud rather and offended, and the blonde haired woman is not about to feed his ego.
regarding the book in her hands: it becomes far more interesting now that she has seen the man, and she’s quiete sure he’ll see her sooner than later and that she’ll give him the cold shoulder and shoot death glares his way. taemin won’t move his entitled ass, however cross she looks, and silver gets ready to hunker down and sticks her nose a little deeper in her book. goddamnit.
she isn’t quite in the mood to be bothered, but then again when is she ever? and when is taemin not an asshole? ahh, that’s right! never. silver snorts to herself, her eyes focused on the book but her mind lost in thought. truthfully, she’s doesn’t care about the fact that taemin exists; it’s just the fact that he chooses to exist around her that irks her. silver tucks a loose stand of hair behind her ear. thinking about him is making her irritated before even entering her peripheral vision. that is a gift, all things considered. and taemin is more trouble that he’s worth.
by the time his shadow falls over her, she’s got her music on high, plugged into her ears and it fully intent on ignoring him to her greatest ability. she has a gift, you see, one of giving the cold shoulder to those who deserve it. and lee taemin certainly does deserve it.

he hadn’t kept her waiting very long ( really, he never did ), her frame relaxed on his bed. all she’d done was sit, and his scent had invaded her system so naturally along with small traces of hers, it almost made her laugh at the thought of just how often she found her body lying in those sheets. they’d become somewhat of a second home to her, taemin being the sweet soul to lend her half from time to time. her eyes followed his body as he moved, the ruffle of his jacket hitting the floor reminding her of her own jacket still hanging loosely on her shoulders ( it wouldn’t be that way for much longer ).
her head tilts at his sigh, and she can’t help but wonder about this human boy she’d managed to grasp. she knew of his home, the life he was born to, and for all the sorrow there were still times she couldn’t understand how a boy with so much could feel so empty. however, she wouldn’t press, not when the invitation wasn’t there.
there’s a quick quirk at the corner of her lips, a slight action growing into a side smile, one she knew he was familiar with. “no, i never have to wait long for you.” she feels the warmth of his finger on her wrist, her body forming to his, and subconsciously a finger lifts to move strands of hair littering his eyes. “it’s fine, you’re a busy man, i didn’t have to entertain myself for very long, love.”
a smirk leaves his throat at the delicate touch she gives him, fingertips brushing at his skin ever so slightly as strands of his hair move out of his eyesight. his eyes locking onto the features of her face as she did. “im glad.” he mumbles as his hand brushes against the nape of her neck. toying with the fabric of the jacket she was wearing. “busy doesn’t seem to begin to describe it.” it was true though. what with his life as the heir to a wealthy business man mixed with his job as a host and as a magical boy.
there were parties to attend and people to please and monsters to catch. so naturally you’d expect it to take its toll on his body (if not now, over time) to which of course it had - the tiredness in his eyes seemed to betray him and give it away. though he’d never admit to it if anyone. no. if she asked.
“well now you dont have to entertain yourself at all.” in that instant it was like the weariness that was washing over him disappeared, if only for a little bit. eyes laced with a hint of hunger and lust. and a willingness to have some fun (any fun really). “how about a bottle of fizz.” head dipping town to press gentle pecks against her jawline. “to celebrate.. well.. to celebrate the end of a long day.”

though neither of them can remember their time before, theres times where it almost looks as if they get along. like they’re best friends and thats the reason for spending so much time with one another. but if you were to delve deeper you would see that they had quite a lot of differences and bickered practically 24/7.
somethings just never changed.
but it was exactly times like this that made people change their mind on the two. its quite a sight when a sleepy taemin shuffles his way slowly into the kitchen of his lavish apartment (he’d decided to move into the penthouse of his fathers hotel and away from his actual home with the man.) where to his surprise he’s greeted by minji, the card that he’d captured by his amazing hero skills fluke.
a somewhat surprised smile grows on his lips as he wipes his tired eyes. just making sure he wasnt seeing things as well as confirming that he was indeed awake and not just dreaming. not that he’d ever dream of her-
he’s cut off from his thoughts when she speaks. when she says that she dreamed of him. minji? dreamed of him? well that was quite the statement. a grin spreading from ear to ear on his lips. he would most definitely use that to tease her in the future.
“are you so obsessed with me that you dream of me? im quite surprised minji.” he muses, eyes laced with a hint of playfulness. that same playfulness he always had whenever the two teased one another, always ending up with them bickering like an old couple. “and coffee? oh how you spoil me.” hand gliding across the counter to pick up the mug and take a swig of the boiling hot black liquid that greeted his lips.
—*confidently lost.
@cctaemin wanted to soar!
sometimes, she dreams about taemin. she dreams about him in segments. almost as if she was watching an old movie where most clips came in a blur.
they were moments where he talked, his talking came in various sizes and forms. sometimes, his lips were split into the moon. the crescent one as he speaks to pleasure. sometimes, his lips were split into the sun. the radiant one as he speaks for distraction. they were moments where his lips were blurred, words coaxed to be undecipherable.
sometimes, he tastes like cherry. the sweet version of their platonic love. sometimes, he tastes like citrus. a bitter taste where arguments bubble in the air. sometimes, he tastes like sea salt. a lasting taste, an intangible one.
within those senses, it doesn’t take her long to realize how they are some many things she doesn’t know about her owner. to some degree, that scared her.
because all those moments could be easily shattered with a mere word or touch.
the morning arrives, the same dream comes. it was about him, him having the smile that spilled arrogance. except, it was dimmed and held an unusual tinge. her arms rest in the counter of the kitchen, her fingers linger around the rim of the cup. a huff slips past her lips, before she hears the shuffling feet at the distance. her head perks up, her gaze drifts to where he stands. pulling herself out of the chair, her fingers wrapping themselves around the cup.
a lopsided grin forms, dimple following up. “hey,” she greets, airy tone colored with warmth. “for the first time, i did a cup of coffee to you. it’s to thank you about giving me a good dream.” the card muses, not letting her expression falter to the lie. “you trip on it, if you were curious.”

damnit.
he grits his teeth, trying his hardest to ignore the sting the freshly made cut (more like a gash) was giving him. he’d let his guard down for a second long enough for the monster he and jongin was fighting was to land a hit on him. to say he was pissed was an understatement.
luckily it was just a scratch and nothing more. though he’s not sure that jongin thought the same way. the boy had grabbed him so fast (and rather harshly) he didnt even have time to register what was going on, and before he could say anything the two of them are heading in the complete opposite direction and away from the monster rather then towards it like they were supposed to.
taemin was even more pissed now then he had been at the monster for scratching him. he didnt understand why jongin had grabbed him and fled. they never fled from a fight. in fact taemin couldnt even remember if he’d ever fled from a fight like the two of them had just done. something must be wrong, he thinks to himself. eyes studying his friend. becoming more concerned when he speaks up.
“Im fine, just a scratch.” completely ignoring the cut on his arm, and keeping his eyes fixated on jongin. “dude- what the fuck was that all about?”
i’m sorry, my brother
( @cctaemin )
battle is basic when you’re a hero. wounds, a norm. jongin knows this and if his memory from the first timeline stands for anything, he should know this better than anyone. today he’s teamed up with taemin and the both of them, quite honestly, make a pretty good pair. jongin relies on his strength instead of anything else; his best point.
and he thinks that they’ve got it this time, that they’ve finally defeated this beast. but he’s wrong. it fights back and this time he watches as taemin gets striked. he moves before he can think, there’s an alarm ringing in his head, fear colouring his eyes as he jumps to taemin’s side.
shit, he thinks, “fuck,” he breathes and he doesn’t waste any time. all he can see, all he remembers is the red adorning taemin, the blood against his lips. it’s never happened here, not now, but jongin sees it and his heart is thumping loud against his chest. quickly he grabs at taemin’s arm, practically carrying the boy before he’s running off, leaving the monster behind.
no, no, not again. he’s afraid, fear crawling up into his chest and there’s this pool of guilt that settles into his stomach. when they’re finally a good distance from the monster jongin releases taemin, pulling himself away from the boy.
he’s shaking.
“taemin –– are you,” he turns to taemin, and his eyes are panicked. “are you alright?”
