'You really don't have to be sorry. It happened a while ago, and I don't blame her or me for anything between us.' She can't deny that she feels guilt for putting Keiko through pain when Keiko was one of the few friends she'd had as a kid. Keiko was stronger than anyone else had given her credit for in at least trying to be with her, even for a sort time. Being Toshiro Tohomiko's daughter had an undeniable amount of privilege, but she couldn't help but feel that there were costs to that as well…costs to being in her orbit when she's so well known. She worries about how it will affect her friendships in the future, including with Reki. Is her family name and reputation something that she will ever be able to escape? It is something she worries about still sometimes, but she likes to think her fear has lessened somewhat over the years. 'But I appreciate you saying that anyway.'
She nods when he speaks, understanding why he says what he does. 'If you're sure. I don't think you've got anything to worry about either way. You'll have him as a friend no matter what.' She's not as close to Langa as she is to Reki, but she knows he's nice enough to take whatever feelings her friend has for him in stride, regardless of the outcome. 'Have you ever lost a friend like that? Because you liked them or because you guys just drifted apart?'
That was the issue, the idea of being rejected terrified him. So, Reki wasn't sure if he'd ever have the courage to tell Langa how he felt. He was certain that he should, but then again... Also he didn't want to lose Langa as a friend either and what if they didn't work out like Kimiko had explained with her ex? That would only make things worse and he didn't want to think about not having Langa in his life anymore.
He's not sure what he'll do here, but for now he was fine with just hanging out with Langa as friends. Until he felt like he had enough to courage to even suggest how he felt to Langa. "I'm sure it was hard to lose her. That's why I don't know what I'll do. But I'll figure it out. For now I'm just kind of going with the flow." Reki said. He doesn't want to rush into things, even if he's had a crush on Langa for a long time. He'd continue to have a crush for as long as he wants.
"I mean I guess, but we'll see. Right now, I'm cool with just being his friend." Reki said. Losing the others friendship was definitely something that he wasn't looking forward too if he didn't feel the same. Maybe for now he'd just drop subtle hints and see how Langa responds. "I'm sorry about you and your ex though."

'Totally! Are you a hoarder like me?' She chuckles, mostly at herself and her less-than-ideal habits. 'In my defense, it's all small stuff. Most of the time.' Photos of her and her friends, trading cards, stationery, movie tickets, mini bottles of hand soaps... It's incredible how much she can hold onto, and how she manages to organize them. (Organizing is a hobby of hers, and it always has been though, so she's probably had enough practice doing so.) 'What do you collect then?'
She nods at the statement, but it makes her somewhat sad... In a bittersweet way. She knows that their friendship is fine, and that she will see him someday soon. Eventually. Saying goodbye is never easy though, especially since she doesn't know when they'll hang out again. 'A rebel huh? You seem like the type, don't worry, I won't tell your secret.' A playful punch to the shoulder. 'Take care of yourself. And say hi to that nice girl on your team for me, will you? I wanna know how that works out for you guys.'
"Ah so you understand then. Yeah It be fun to hold onto I suppose." Desmond was starting to get convinced to grabbing some just to have, a nightmare for his parents in the coming future to be sure. Something they'd have to blame on one of his newly gained friends at some point. Des would snap back to attention she she asked him a question "Nicest perk? Being able to sneak out to do things like this I guess." He'd snicker into his hand. "Don't tell my teacher though." He'd cheekily stick a finger over his lips.
"Yeah keep me posted." The sun was starting to come up now, the cascading of light shining on the horizon, a beautiful gold shine mixing with the deep blue of night. " Guess this is it huh? Let's keep in touch Kimiko." His tone was a bit sad, somber, he liked hanging out with her alot, and now they'd be saying goodbye for now.

oh what if the reason kimiko doesn't have a harry in the 1610 universe and in the universe with miles as spider-man... is because SHE is the harry...

very much in love with the meta! idea of marvel and spider/marvel comics kimiko being an original character from the sixties / original comics ala gwen stacy and being introduced as a rich girl and satellite character/love interest for harry only to evolve and grow as her own character and have complex emotions/feelings/relationships of her own as the years go on... spidey and other versions of kimiko meeting the original sixties kimiko... the multiverse and all of the potential that could have...

anon asked:Kimiko spidersona AU being firey webs tho
UNPROMPTED ASKS (ACCEPTING)
i love that idea! i would also go far as to say that spidey! kimiko would be the type to research and make different kinds of webs! i've always thought that in her spidey verse she would have separate fire powers from her spider ones! kimiko having electric webs or light up webs... i think the scientist and artist in her would love to experiment with different web fluid and web types... maybe some fabric or mesh ones in her web shooters? i love talking about spidey!kimiko so much

anon asked:Have you ever tried to learn a skill but couldn't, despite the effort?
UNPROMPTED ASKS (ACCEPTING)
An interesting question. Kimiko's good at a lot of things, and she always has. She's taken many hobbies, both as a child and now as a young woman, and many of them are still enjoyable to her to this day. Of course, she can't be good at everything. It takes time for her to think the question over, but she does, eventually, come up with an answer.
'Cooking is the obvious one. I've never had the patience or skill for it. Too many factors involved.' Baking she can sort of do, but mainly because, in her mind, it's more logical. The steps that you take and follow are more straightforward, while the attempts she's made into cooking have been trial and error with even the smallest change or deviation in a recipe causing everything to go sideways. Maybe she'll get the hang of it... Someday. For now, she'll stick to take-out or fruit or buying ready-to-eat or microwave meals.
'Gardening, sort of? Watering is pretty straight forward, but digging and planting is kind of strange to me.' She's done some, in the temple gardens, but she's never found it fulfilling or easy. Flowers are nice, but she can admit she's not good enough at putting in the work to make them grow.

anon asked:How would you react if your friends contracted vampirism?
UNPROMPTED ASKS (ACCEPTING)
'I'd just try to help them with the change, more or less. It's not like they wanted it to happen, and being an immortal vampire sounds like a dreary existence.' She's sure that some people would want to be changed and have mystical vampire powers, but no one she's friends with. 'Are we talking like all of them? And what kind of vampirism are we talking here?' Horror movies she knows, but vampires are something she's steered away from... mostly. She's always been more of a zombie or werewolf movie lover anyway... Even if she still thinks Nosferatu is a classic.
'Find a way to make a blood or animal blood substitute for them. Try to keep them from hurting or draining other people. Pretty standard stuff.' Kimiko shrugs. 'Why, do you know any vampires? I've never believed in them, but I've seen weirder things. ' Immortals like Chase, for one. He's an interesting case, though, even if she doesn't find him appealing or worthy of her time outside of any Heylin/Xiaolin battles they've been in over the years. 'I would never ask them to turn me though, that's for sure.'

@featherchan asked:It was another typical Thursday as Xiaolin Dragon fought against the forces of evil, the Heylin. In the midst of a race to the Wu, Scarlet caught sight of one of her friends being tossed, leading her to slide to a stop. Leaving the other Xiaolin Dragon to deal with the Wu, the raven raced in the opposite direction to catch the Dragon of Fire. "I got you, Kimiko!" Kanako positions herself to catch the other raven, in a bridal style and holds her footing steady, so neither of them would topple over. "You alright?" She smiles.
UNPROMPTED ASKS (ACCEPTING)
She's expecting to hit the ground, to fall. It's nothing she isn't used to, and she's taken bigger hits than this (and given as much as she's gotten as well, naturally.) She curls into herself, expecting to crash and doing her best to mitigate the impact of her falling onto the rocks and dirt below them.
Finding herself in someone's arms while being held like she's small, or delicate is something she didn't foree though, and she can't lie. It's mildly embarrassing. She's grateful to Kanako for taking action to help and protect her, of course, but she's still reeling from the hit and of needing someone else to catch or save her in such a way. Even if she knows that she can... sort of trust Kanako as a fellow warrior and Dragon. More than she could at the beginning, anyway. She searches for the right words to say, only coming up with 'thanks.' Though she's still trying to process it all, and all the mixed emotions she's experiencing, Kimiko manages to smile a little in response. 'Yeah, could you let me down though? I'm okay. Just a bit dusty. How are you?'

'Hard to believe that you'd be someone who could ruffle up so many feathers.' She's sure learning a lot about her friend today, isn't she? Kimiko is far-pressed to consider Zhongli boring, but she'd always considered him someone people respected or admired unanimously. Sometimes she wishes she was more like that, and not so... Controversial? Adversarial? Polarizing? Those don't seem quite right, but Kimiko would argue she's someone who inspires ambivalent feelings. More on that later.
'I see. Would you consider going, since you've made friends from there? There's part of me that would love to go back home, but it's still so... fragile. You must know about the war that happened, and everything that happened with the Shogun.' She herself knows only bits and pieces and hearsay, but she thinks she has enough of a grasp.
"Ah." Perhaps he had said too much already without catching himself. While he was not fond of lying it would not be wise to state outright he is most acquainted with the Electro Archon or her familiar, Guuji Yae, however...
"Well, throughout my time in Liyue Harbor I have met many travelers from various nations. Some by happenstance as I am out running errands for Director Hu or Dr. Baizhu, some at the markets selling their wares that I find particularly interesting, and some who have sought me out as a consultant or guide for my knowledge in various subjects. Not all connections have turned to friendship, I have even had some which were left in quite a sorry state, but I do not believe I would be unwelcome were I to pursue a conversation with some of these people in Inazuma."

'Right, especially when there's way more effective hair care products that work better for different hair types. Most of the hotel shower stuff smells nice though, or looks pretty. Especially the soaps. I just keep it to hold onto.' Which doesn't make the most amount of sense, but she does have a sentimental streak. She likes saving memories, however small. 'What's the nicest perk you've ever gotten from a hotel then? Gift baskets? Been a while since I've been.' If she's traveling, she usually stays with friends or with Dojo and the dragons camping out somewhere. She vaguely remembers going to hotels for business conferences but for short durations. Her father would probably be better to ask for insight on that kind of thing.
'Promise.' She sticks out her pinky, linking it with her friends. 'When I get back to the temple, I'll try and text you, assuming the signals work.'
What was she thinking about? Des stood there thinking about what she was thinking about, she talked about jack's villain path and then went silent - seemingly lost in thought, like she was recapping tons of past memories. He cocked his head staring at her. He wanted to tease her about thinking about kissing jack, but he waved it off before walking ahead a bit. He'd turn to her at the mention of the shampoo.
"Nah, I come with my own shampoo- it's perfect for my hair and it's not the bad shampoo white people shove into hotels." He'd then look at his tail.
"I also grab my own robe, it works for my tail, something I can't really close on normal robes. But yeah once a month." Des would hold out his pinky to promise her.

'I'm sure meeting all those dragons must have been something else. Is dimension hopping one of your powers then? I've never seen a dragon that can do that, but I've known of magic that lets you travel to them.' Sort of. It's complicated, and she's sure she hasn't seen or explored the full extent of what Shen Gong Wu and their abilities can do just yet. Or her own. That fact doesn't intimidate her, though, and she finds herself excited about the potential possibilities. Perhaps someday in the future.
'You met Dojo? What happened?' She raises an eyebrow, curious as to what the other means. She's sure that the Dojo she knows would have mentioned meeting the dragon in front of her, so it can't be the one she's thinking of. A different reality, maybe? She's learned not to rule anything out. 'What was this Dojo of yours like, if you don't mind me asking? What do you remember?'
Sonari shrugged and said "That's fair. I never expected to see a planet without metal eating flora. Anyway, I've been on earth for about eight years but in that time, I've only met... One, two..." Sonari was counting on her paws. "Four dragons, and three of them were in another dimension. The first one taught me to fly and I never saw him again."
Sonari perked up when she heard Dojo's name; as if she recognized it. But then looked away a bit sheepishly. If that was the same Dojo she met, then this encounter would be rather awkward. She was pretty sure Dojo wouldn't want to see her again after she'd been tricked by Wuya despite early warning of the witch's evil nature. All Sonari was willing to say on that matter was "...The one I met on earth probably doesn't like me."

'Probably not that far off from what he would be if he wasn't involved in the whole villain thing if I'm being honest.' And part of her does wonder what would happen if she and the other Xiaolin Dragons met in a different world where they weren't responsible for the fate of the world. Would they be friends? What kinds of jobs would they have? Would they even have met? How? And of course, part of her has always wondered if she and Jack would have been friends if the circumstances of their connection had been different. That's all conjecture though, and she doesn't see much use in dwelling too hard on it.
'Fancy hotels can be fun. Especially room service! You gotta make the most of it, yeah? Knowing me, I'd take all the free shampoo and bath robes and towels.' She doesn't need to, not really, but she likes collecting trinkets from places she's been to anyway. 'Meeting up once a year sounds good. And we should definitely video chat if we're both in places with good signals. Like, once a month?' Emails and texts too, but that goes without saying.
Desmond would pause a bit, blink slowly and then turn to her. "Wait seriously? That's his name!?" She's obviously pulling his leg, he thinks on it, but can't find a reason why she'd make it up but why would he be named that, did his parents think that was funny? That's a bit mean of them. "Yeah buuut he could be a hacker or a computer expert with a name like that." Kinda reminds him of that guy from the Incredibles movie.
Des would give a toothy grin at that playful shove. "I guess I can try, but my handwriting is awful, I can't do cursive to save my life." Desmond would see her stretch and then do it, similar to a yawn. "Yeah cause my teachers, pay, I'm too young to be paying for my own hotels, gifts, snacks are another story...OH I can get you things and send them to you- we gotta promise, if you got a wu thing in Portland or Oregon, look me up! Oh and we should meet up once a year!" They could share stories and things similar to tonight.
