#my parents were born in 1966-1967 #for reference I was born in 2004 #and come from a more middle class/upper middle class background #so most people my age had parents were in firmly in their 30s when they were born #so the fact that is actually very common for people to have parents who were like 18-24 when they were born is actually mind blowing #I saw a tiktok of a girl wearing her mom’s prom dress from like 2001… PROM?? Actually watching Supernatural after being on tumblr for 12 years is wild because you realize that the Destiel girlies were not exaggerating at all. Like. One of the examples of Sunny accidentally getting mental illness right, which I think is really neat, is Charlie and pica. Pica is an eating disorder where people compulsively eat things that aren't food. That behavior in itself is not a particularly difficult thing to portray, but they also (accidentally) gave it convincing supporting details. Charlie has a developmental disability that affects his impulse control, which is a major risk factor for pica. Charlie also grew up in poverty, which is associated with pica. Some of the most common things people with pica eat, like chalk and paint chips, are things we know Charlie eats.
