I'm a super fledgling scanlator who doesn't know Japanese but is super open to help with my low-tier editing, cleaning, typesetting if you ever want to collab! Nobody reads these but I guess I lied in my last post.

I’m on hiatus from translating for an indefinite amount of time. I might feel more optimistic in the future so I don’t want to say it’s definite, but right now I feel I might never come back. I’ll give it some time. It’s a mix of how insecure I feel in my translation skill and how unproductive I’m starting to feel this hobby is in relation to the rest of my life. It’s too much work without any real payoff except me feeling over and over how inadequate I am.

I’m sorry to anyone who was looking forward to any doujins in my queue. I’ll try really hard to get those two at least done before quitting for good.

I'm not dead!

But the quarantine has been taking a toll on my mood & motivation so it's been rough. But thankfully I don't have the stress anymore of overdue online school assignments so I'll try to get back on track this next month.

Despite what my website says (I'm still procastinating the chinko) I'm currently working on a sequel to nochico's Cause I Love You. After that, I'll do a DJ that looks fun to cool down before working on another that was requested by someone on twitter (I'm also procrastinating it because it has handwritten parts that I don't want to even look at yet or I'll probably cry).

That'll be..... 6 shounen ai doujins in a row..... I swear I want to do some smut already and it's just not happening.

That there's a new pokemon game out reminded me that I never finished Pikachu Let's Go. That's what I have been doing the last 3 days! Cheers to productivity ayeeeeee!

This is purely a vent post because I have too many feelings.

I'm still in shock that they made me fight Trace at the end. They really did that. They pit me against my childhood friend and rival, the person I cherished the most.............. I really felt that.

They must have thought they were so clever. The monsters.

The relationship between the protagonist and Trace is sad. It's labeled a "rivalry", but every time I fought him I always felt terrible because I knew he was meant to lose. Unlike Kacchan and Deku were they both stand with equal chances of surpassing the other, the protagonist of this game is just absurdly gifted, so no matter how much stronger Trace got through the game, it was never a question. It's a one-sided feeling of rivalry, but to Trace it's really important, while as the protagonist, I know he's not even a real challenge. It's depressing I can't be as invested as him into the relationship.

I hope this doesn't happen to Kacchan and Deku, but with OFA and the 7 (8? 9?) other quirks Deku has to master, it's obvious there will come a point in their lives were Deku's power will put him in a level of his own. He'll probably pretend he still sees Kacchan as his rival, but Kacchan will know there's no point of comparison. And he'll probably get a feeling like he lost something important in his life.

PWAH. I’m exhausted.

During my 2 month break, I almost completely forgot how to clean. In the last Fujii, my lines were shaky, the colors were uneven--what a mess! That, paired with my lack of enthusiasm probably made that work poor quality. 

WELL, LIFE GOES ON.

I’m mega excited to start on the gateau! I actually already started because I’m very hyped, and then spent, I wish I was joking, 3 hours looking for some kanji in a hand-written bit. I didn’t find them, but I can kind of guess what it says, anyway......who am I kidding.... I’ll probably spend another 3 hours trying to find them again. I’m very stubborn about the most stupid things. 

I wish I was this stubborn about finishing my novel for National Novel Writing Month. It’s been a good month despite how much I’ve avoided work. I think I might translate a few smaller projects while I work on the gateau. I want it to be perfect, but...... it’s so hard. So damn hard. So much cleaning. Wow. 

I’m both excited and full of dread.

I'M NOT DEAD.

I'm participating in the National Novel Writing Month, so the free time I have has been hectic. I’ve been trying to slowly work on translation during the weekends, but the Fujii Niya has been torturing me a little.....

Why does it contain the mention of assault so much? I'm not particularly sensitive, but with western audiences it likely makes Fujii's writing seem crude. Which sucks, because the rest is so sweet! I’ve been struggling trying to find a way to soften the words while keeping the original meaning. Outright deleting those parts of the dialogue has been very temping, too.... I wonder if that would upset anyone.

This struggle has made me very often just stare yearningly at Reika's works, because...... she wouldn't do this to me....

Someone pray for my mental health.

BY THE WAY. 

I have been taking my sweet time with new uploads because I’ve been sick these past weeks. I still have a little sore throat and nausea, but I can work now. I’ll be working hard this weekend so I can upload the 2 doujin in my queue, but Swallow Down is a fucking nightmare to clean. 

It will probably take me a whole week................................

edit: I was just looking over the scans again to remember how bad it is and it made my nausea flare up................................ truly, what a nightmare. Why do I do this to myself.
