Nursing Degrees 101
Nursing can be a confusing field and can be extremely intimidating when you first start. Although it can be intimidating, nursing can be a great investment especially right now with large number of nurses needed.  There are different paths that can be taken to obtain a nursing degree. Let’s take a look at the  different paths. There is a two year program for someone who wants to become a nurse, but lacks the time to attend school. This two year program gives you the title of an RN, registered nurse, and allows you to obtain an Associate’s degree in Nursing. The next degree is a BSN, bachelor’s of science in nursing. This degree is obtained through four years of schooling. Using the four year degree, you can take extra classes and obtain a MSN, master’s of science in nursing, or a DNP, doctor of nursing practice. If you choose a degree and want more training or want to perform different tasks, you can become certified in different areas (https://nursejournal.org/articles/types-of-nursing-degrees/). Choosing a degree can be tough, but the best way to choose which degree is right for you is to weigh your options, determine the amount of effort and determination you are going to put forth, and determine your goals for yourself.
