so when katniss and peeta are in the cave and he keeps nodding off and then she kisses him awake, and then he smiles at katniss "as if he'd be happy to lie there gazing at me forever."

at this point in his illness, peeta knew he was dying. i don't think he expected to wake up again. so when he's awakened by the feeling of katniss' lips pressed against his and opens his eyes to see her smiling at him and hears her use a special voice for him that he's never heard before but sounds like love, for a second, he probably thought, maybe, being dead isn't so bad.

and then he sees the pot of broth in katniss' hand, feels his wounds pressed against the hard stone floor of the cave, and comes to his senses. and that's when he realizes he needs to fight like hell to live. because he's starting to think it might be his only chance to see heaven.

tlou x tgh au where katniss is ellie and haymitch is joel because i am loosing it ^_^ more thoughts under the separator

SO. ok. I think the story of tlou would have to change drastically for it to make sense with thg character but here are a few ideas about where things would go.

Katniss looses Prim when she is a lot younger. Gale finds this mall just outside of the quarantine zone and they all go together. Which leads to Prim and Katniss getting bit.

Gale ends up killing Prim and promises to do the same for Katniss and to take care of her mother. Time goes on and Katniss doesn't turn but she can't get over the image of Gale killing her sister, she can't stop blaming him.

So the fireflies (which i think could be called mockingjays in this au) find the two of them and take them. Gale becomes a firefly rebel and Katniss follows the Ellie storyline of having to be taken across country.

Tess is probably Effie. LISTEN I KNOW. i know they are NOTHING alike. but Tess is the person that Joel has been working with the longest after his daughter died, and they have this weird romantic tension and guilt to them that just fits Haymitch and Effie. So what i think is that Effie is closer to the higher ups of the fedra and gets Haymitch jobs to complete for money/things. She doesn't usually go with him, but when she knows it's missions that Haymitch cannot go through alone she does her best to help. Which is how she ends up completing the role of Tess. By urging Haymitch to take Katniss.

I debated also having Peeta be dragged around with Haymitch, but i think he is much better suited to live in jackson and meet Katniss and Haymitch there. (Who is tommy? i have no idea honestly. Maybe another victor?) Peeta is a jackson boy to me.

guys listen: Johanna giving Katniss her first piercing parent-trap style while sitting around in d13. Just a lemon slice, a needle, and a dream.

it’s an impulsive decision that Katniss agrees on in the spur of the moment fueled a little by pity and some teasing. They agree that the next day, at an unassuming time, the plan was a go. Katniss gets cold feet, but pulls through clutching to a pair of her mother’s old earrings that she found in 12. Doesn’t know how in the world Jo got a hold of a sharp needle or a few spare matches, but she doesn’t question it. And with a death threat that doesn’t hold any weight, Johanna rolls her eyes and drives the needle in. Katniss tries to tell herself she only did it for her friend’s sake, but she glances a little longer at her side in any reflection feeling a just a bit more pretty.

this is probably very unlikely at least in 13, but I love thinking about these two just being teenage girls for once.
