The countdown has been slowly ticking closer to its end. It won’t be long now until that happens. That- whatever that is. A few more hours, a couple minutes, a several seconds- four seconds- two seconds- two seconds. Two seconds. The timer froze in the midst of its count without warning. Is it broken, malfunctioning, or…?
The noise from the speakers abruptly came to life, “Hellooo, everyone! Everyone, a body has been found! This means, like promised, the counter will never reach 0. Your end won’t come so soon anymore. You should thank the culprit when you catch them! If- If you do.
“And thank Mira for finding the body!”

In the midst of the investigation that had only just begun, the noise of the intercom interrupts any progress.
“Ikiryo and Seiichi are ahead of everyone. They move fast. Really fast. Fast enough to find someone else before anyone else. Should they get a prize? A prize for finding her? No, the gift of death is as much as anyone could ever want. Your tablets are updated with the new one! Find it! It’s not far. It’s very easy. Even Erika can find it if she tries.”
Sure enough, if you check your tablet, you will find yet another file added.

It’s four hours past noon, and the density of this fog has only thickened and become heavier. The visibility outside of the buildings is scarce. Anything could be behind you. Anything could be in front of you. Any shadow you see could be the harbinger of your end. Any sound could be the presence of an entity unknown. Suddenly, the noise of the speakers surge to life, and that voice speaks through.
“Good news! There’s good news for everyone. A body has been found in the morgue. Everyone, go join Ikiryo and Seiichi in the morgue! Make it quick, and investigate well before the trial!”
The speakers fall silent. There it is, the announcement for the second murder. You should hurry to the morgue as the voice instructed.

About an hour after the first trial had wrapped itself up, a heavy fog had begun to settle within the facility. It was the thickest outside of the buildings, but overall there was no area without fog present. After a few hours of living and breathing it in, you may notice the atmosphere become considerably more apprehensive and uneasy. Soon, it may occasionally become terrifying. The fog is laced with hallucinogenic qualities, and people may experience hallucinations, delusions, and trouble with sleeping. The intensity of the effects vary with each individual, with the smaller ones being more prone to the poison than others.
In general, people may occasionally see things in the fog, occasionally see others with horrifying characteristics or as monstrosities, develop false beliefs, and/or experience trouble sleeping. The fog will lift after someone kills. Everyone may notice the fog when they wake up the next morning- the morning after the trial. The beginning of the effects may take place that day, however they will get worse over time. These are the next few days that were warned about at the closing of the trial- the days everyone will fear.

Hardly half an hour has passed since the trial and Fumika’s life ended when, again, the intercom flickered to life for the umpteenth time that night. Please, just shut up, some of you must be thinking. There’s a few paps to the speaker from the other end before the voice speaks.
“There’s a mission I have for two of you, a really special one. The special mission is for Seiichi and Erika. They look really capable, and nice, and this is their reward! Seiichi and Erika, I hope you do well. It has to be you two, okay. It has to be.
“Eiji’s body is busy rotting in the showers. It’s disgusting. You two, move it. There’s a morgue in the hospital. In the lobby, take the door on the right, and the double doors across from the elevator down that hall will be unlocked! Go, go!”
The MORGUE has been unlocked!  The SECOND FLOOR of the SLEEPING QUARTERS has been unlocked!

GAME OVER FUMIKA MIZUNO HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY COMMENCING EXECUTION
Cirque du Lune
Fumika’s head was fuzzy, and her vision was blurry. She couldn’t tell where she was, and as she looked around, a bright light filled her vision. Putting a hand to her head, she squinted, trying to find a way to see clearly. There was a deafening roar… one she recognized very well. It was the sound of a crowd, whooping and roaring loudly. Slowly her vision returned to her, and she could tell where she was: a colossal big top. She stood in a cage, and ran up to the bars, putting her hands on them. What was going on?
C-Could they see her? No. She felt it on her head, the mask she’d always worn during her performances. No one could see her face, thank god. Her makeshift rabbit mask, while somewhat odd looking, had brought her troupe attention, even though she didn’t want much of it. It had also served to hide her identity to the world. As far as they were concerned, she was just “Diana.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, welcome to Monobear’s Freak Show!” Fumika frowned. Freak show? Was he talking about her? She could feel the crowd’s eyes poring into her, looking and wondering just what was wrong with this girl. What sort of hideous face was hidden underneath that mask? Fumika began to sweat. She wasn’t concerned with dying. She welcomed it. Since she’d killed… her troupe would be safe. At least she hoped so.
“Underneath her mask is the most monstrous face possible, but I’ll leave that to your imaginations. We all call this little rabbit Diana.” It was clear now where the voice was coming from. There was a Monobear dressed in a ringmaster’s outfit standing next to her cage. As the crowd watched her, she began to feel her skin crawl. This was different from her normal performances… she could feel every single set of eyes individually mocking her, like the freak she was. She winced. “It’s not that smart, either. It’s not even really that good for anything besides the show! Let’s all take a moment to laugh at this pitiful creature, who strayed too far from its old home!” A loud bang went off behind her, and she flinched. The crowd laughed at her, and she found herself sweating more. She couldn’t stand being held on display to be laughed at, like some sort of exhibit. She had to get control of this situation and the crowd…
“Why don’t you all come down here! Diana, you know, is also the Roman deity of the hunt! And we’re always one for audience participation, so let’s play a little game with our star exhibit.” Fumika snapped around as the cage she was in was opened, and found a pair of monobears walking towards her. Grabbing her from the arms, they began dragging her out as she kicked and screamed. They carried her to the center of the stadium, where a massive target had been set up, with a set of shackles on it.
She was placed on the wheel, her arms and legs spread out. A line had already been set up, and Fumika would see what was going on. The Mono-ringmaster handed a bow to the first person in line, followed by an arrow. “Your goal,” the bear said, “is to hit that thing with the arrow.”
The first arrow whizzed towards her, and pinned itself right next to her ear, vibrating.
The second arrow lodged itself in her arm. The third, her ankle. One after one the barrage of arrows continued to strike her, turning her into a veritable pin cushion. Fumika didn’t protest, and did her best to avoid reacting. So this was how she’d die? Some sort of monster on display for a game? She frowned. She was prepared to die… but this method wasn’t what she wanted. It didn’t matter though.
No one kept track of when Diana’s head slumped over, or when exactly she’d stopped moving at all. By the time the last arrow was shot, the board had been filled with arrows, as people began to file out of the tent, leaving the pierced body where it was.
Fumika Mizuno, the Super High School Level Ringmistress, is dead.

It’s early, too early. Many are sleeping peacefully at this time of 2am, and others getting ready to head to their beds. No one could have been prepared for the sudden outburst of static from the speakers, which may have startled some awake.
“Good morning..!! Something amazing just happened, so your families don’t have to die. That’s really great. In the showers, Nikki found a body. Nikki found a body and is busy touching it all over. Go look..! Who the body is, I’ll let you find out.
But, you can find out through your tablets now. If you look on the main screen, there’s a new tab. It’s a tab for case files. It makes it sound like you’re actual detectives with a case file, so it’s really cool. Everyone please look at it, and you’ll also think it’s really cool! Use it to help investigate and put pieces together. You’re welcome. Have fun.”
A body was found in the showers? So it finally happened. You ought to make your way to the showers, where you will indeed find Nikkita hugging a corpse in the cubicle furthest away from the door. By approaching the body, you can see the identity of the corpse as Eiji Katashi, SHSL Demonologist.
Caring to check your tablet, there is indeed a new tab located on the Main Screen that reads “Case File”. It lists the identity of the victim, the cause of death, and the time. Useful.

Huffs. This whole predicament is a curious one but not a good kind of curious. She looks around some, putting a hand to her head again god damn her head still hurts. She leans a bit closer to him as he speaks, sighing a little. “I remember everything except how I got here, so you’re fresh out of luck in this department, kid.” She starts to rub at one side of her head, trying to ease the dull headache. “Yeah it’s very unlikely that we’ll see a dead body so soon. Unless some kid breaks right away anyways.” Looking around at the others to see. “Nah that’s not likely…”
Crystal nods. “We’re not safe, not at all.” But she’ll be damned if anything happens to Hanako. She can’t stand to let anything happen to her. “But you don’t know anyone here?”
Man she could’ve gone a whole conversation without realizing that they hadn’t exchanged names so thank you for that Cain. She looks to his hand, then realizing this was for introduction. She takes the hand and shakes it firmly. “Crystal Waters.” She takes her hand back and lets it rest by her side. He’s got an English name pls don’t realize the error in her own naming.
Hearing Crystal call him a kid made Cain chuckle; He wasn’t going to mention why he was grinning, but it’s been forever since anyone called him a kid (or a squirt). “Well, at least everyone here seems to be doing all right. No one seems to have any external injuries and the place is well stocked.”
When asked if he knows anyone here, Cain looked around and nodded his head towards a smaller boy with white hair and pink clothes. “Akiyo. Akiyo Toyoda. He’s the one here I’m the most familiar with. . . ” Cain snuck another glance at the boy, hoping that Crystal wasn’t able to see his gay blushing. “Another one I know here is Blaise. He’s the tall guy with the blue hair and bandanna tied around his mouth. We’re not exactly friends, but we’ve spoken a few times.” He frowned slightly, as if remembering something. “He’s kind of. . . ‘off putting’ to talk to? I don’t like hanging around him for extended periods of time.”
Hearing Crystal’s name made Cain blink a few times in surprise, trying to register what she said. “Crystal Waters. . . that sounds like a bottle water brand name.” Cain started chuckling to himself, letting out a small ‘Pfft-’ sound.
“If you want, we explore this place and see if we can find anything interesting or suspicious. It’s a lot better than staying in this room.”

dangansummer:
Some time has passed since everyone awoke in the warehouse. Since then, some explored, some panicked, some united with a friend, but ultimately, there was nothing left to do apart from accepting the situation and becoming somewhat settled within the confines of the musty facility. Silently, some must be wondering if any of them would soon kill another, or if everyone will use their strength in number to find another way out. There’s nothing forcing them to kill, after all. There is nothing yet worth killing over.
The speakers across the facility sprang to life with static. Then, a voice spoke through, the same voice that welcomed everyone on the first day. “Hello, everyone, again! It’s been a few days. How are you? I hope good, but you’re going to be better than good very soon. I decided to get a present for everyone. Does everyone know where the hospital is? You should. It’s very big. If you enter the hospital and look to the counter in the window, everyone will find a stack of electronic… tablets! There’s twenty of them, and twenty of you; one for each of you! Don’t take two. Taking two is unfair.”
“I decided that… it would be nice if everyone had the layout of the place with them. There’s a map uploaded to each tablet, and a list of everyone here. Like a roster. It can tell you the time, too. Technology is really amazing; I’m excited to see everyone’s reaction to these tablets.”
“Oh. Let me tell you about the best feature. There’s a feature called ‘feed’. Feed, live video feed. If you toggle through it, I think you’ll eventually find a feed from a place that’s really familiar. Or of really familiar people. It was hard setting up cameras in all these places, but not that hard. Some of these people are really important to you, right? You don’t want to see them get hurt, right? We can watch them live life for a while, then we can watch them die. It’s fair, I think. If no one can kill anyone this week, you can watch these people die instead,” the tone was casual, unfitting of the heavy threat it had announced.
“Hmm,” the voice paused for a brief moment, as though to collect its thoughts, “and also… I can hear things from here. I can hear and see everything. Yui! Yui, Yui mentioned weapons, I heard it. Something big to commit murder.  Knives, or something big like an axe to kill people more easily. There’s already some knives in the kitchen, but I was nice. I got an axe. It’s not really large, but it’s an axe, and it’s next to the tablets on the counter in the hospital lobby. Have fun with the axe, or look forward to watching the massacre at the end of the week.”
Finally, after another very brief moment of static, the speakers silenced with a clack.
[[ On the counter in the hospital’s lobby are the tablets, one for each character. They all possess the same features: time, roster, map, and video feed of family/friends. Then, of course, there is one axe on the counter next to the tablets. It’s a fireman’s axe, one that you usually find behind glass in case of fire.]]

shsl-bunbunfun:
Fumika was still walking away when she heard the voice call out behind her, and stopped, stiffening for a moment, before she relaxed in order to assume a more comfortable and confident pose. Though she’d already shown him she was nervous, hadn’t she? She turned her head to look at him, glancing with her peripheral vision.
Well he was taller than her. He was probably taller than a few people. He was, in short, tall. And he was clearly talking to her. That was unfortunate. She looked back in front of her, and stared straight forward for a few moments, and sighed, before slowly nodding. “I-I’m fine…” Her voice was somewhat shaky, and she listened to him. He has good intentions? Is that implying he’d tell her if he didn’t? “Good to know… Real reassuring.” She tried to come across as harsh, but feared that she may have been a bit too mean. “S-sorry. Never mind.”
She looked down at her shoes. She didn’t want to be here right now. She’d rather be in her room alone, but here she was, surrounded by other people. Without even bothering to turn around, she slowly nodded again. “If you want to do it. I’ll have you know… I’m perfectly fine on my own.” Her voice was still pretty shaky, but she had been hoping it didn’t come across as nervous. Right now she wanted to just get out of the warehouse, and who knows? Maybe they’d find a way out.
“Ah, sorry.” Cain said quickly, shaking his head. “I didn’t intend for it to come out that way. I figured I should say that, considering our circumstances. The announcement from earlier mentioned the “killing game” of sorts, so I was worried you might have thought I approached you to bring harm.” Cain gave an apologetic smile and scratched the tip of his nose. “And it’s fine, you don’t have to apologize. If anything, I should be the one saying sorry more since I seemed to have unnerved you.”
He noticed that she was looking down at her shoes, obviously not wanting to make eye contact. That was fine with him- he wasn’t one for direct eye contact, either. Or it just may be because she’s still shaken up and doesn’t trust him. Which was understandable- who the hell trusts some weirdo who just walks up to them and offers to walk around with them? The gist of it seems fishy.
“If you really want to go exploring on your own, that’s fine. I wouldn’t doubt that you’re capable of being by yourself.” Cain took a step back, hoping that giving her some more space would help.
“I’m Cain, by the way. . You don’t have to give me your name if you don’t want to.”

She frowns, well, more of a :/ face makes it’s way to her face as he tries to explain their situation. She crosses her arms, shifting her weight to one leg as she works this over in her head, her eyes flicking upwards as she tries to recall what happened last before she woke up here. She wants to assume this is a prank of sorts but there’s always the possibility of it being real. “Well…in that case we all better stay safe.”
That does spark interest in her, standing upright again, she digs around in her skirt pocket to locate her phone….nothing. She huffs. going back to crossing her arms. “No phone on me either.” Whoever planned this out thought well ahead it seems. Tucking some hair behind her ear, she looks around, tilting her head slightly. “They can still one day kill, however. Something can make them snap.” Even herself she guesses.
“Some of these kids I recognize, but I wouldn’t be able to name them….My girlfriend is here and she’s the only one I really know.” But she feels u…What’s a social life tbh.
Cain sighs in frustration when Crystal doesn’t seem to have her cellphone either. He dragged his hands down his face and lightly kicked at the ground, mumbling from under his breath. “Do remember anything before waking up here? Like, being knocked out or anything? Pretty much all of my memories are a-ok, but I don’t remember how I got here. . .” Cain furrowed his eyebrows in concentration and scratched the side of his face. “That’s true. I just don’t want to see a dead body on the first day here. Not very pleasant.”
“At least someone you’re familiar with is also here. I mean, that means you’re both at risk, but you’ve got someone you can trust.” Cain stared off the side for a few brief moments, then realized that he didn’t know the name of the person he was talking to! How rude of him.
He extended his hand out for a handshake and tilted his head slightly. “I’m Cain Grayson, by the way. I guess it’s better to familiarize ourselves with everyone here.”

akiyotoyoda:
Akiyo had been quietly studying his surroundings from where he stood when he picked up on the low voice addressing him. He whirled around and a smile broke out on his face when he saw who it was! Cain!
Cain is honestly the only person Akiyo really knew. Most of these people around him are just.. strangers. So, he was glad that there was a familiar face here. Even more so, he was glad that the familiar face was that of his…crush? Were they actually dating? Akiyo wasn’t quite sure how their relationship stands, especially since he’s not really a commitment-oriented person, but he sure did feel a lot safer having Cain with him. It’s almost like having a body guard, especially due to his martial arts skills! But then, it occurred to Akiyo that.. if Cain is here.. that means they both have equal chances of being killed here.
Akiyo immediately flung himself into Cain’s arms and hugged Cain tightly to his chest and felt his eyes begin to tear up.
“C-Cain, no! I-I am glad you are here, but if you are here, that means you are in danger too..!” he murmured into the taller boy’s chest. After a few moments, Akiyo looked up and locked eyes with Cain and gave him a silent warning. Then, he pushed his face back into Cain’s shirt and tightened his grip on him a little tighter.
Cain gave a small, relieved smile when he saw Akiyo grinning up at him. He was half-expecting Akiyo to wrap his arms around him, so Cain already had his arms extended outwards. The tears, however, did surprise him- but Cain still rubbed Akiyo’s back, trying to soothe him.
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. .  You should be more concerned about yourself-” Cain stopped mid sentence when he noticed the “look” on Akiyo’s face and understood immediately. Cain’s expression went blank for a moment, thinking back to a few memories for a moment. Then, once Akiyo snuggled his face back into Cain’s shirt, the corner’s of Cain’s lips tugged into a gentle smile. He usually kept himself looking business like and serious, but around Akiyo, he couldn’t help but to almost let his guard down.
Cain pat Akiyo’s back and gently pulled away from the hug when it seemed Akiyo had calmed down enough. Getting ready for business, Cain made himself look a bit more serious and rummaged through his pockets; he had only a few misc. items like pens, but decided to give the tic tacs he had to Akiyo before continuing to speak.
“We should start looking around. It would be best if we familiarized ourselves with the area so that we at least know where things are. And it doesn’t look like any of our belongings are with us. Our stuff could be hidden, or even not here at all.” Cain took a look around the warehouse once more, looking at the boxes in the corner. He took hold of Akiyo’s hand, feeling slightly flustered and looking away, and pointed at the door. “R-Regardless, I don’t want to stay here.”
His heart was beating a bit faster, though this situation isn’t ideal for dokis. He didn’t know how Akiyo saw him, and he could easily charm most of the boys here, but he still took comfort in the fact that he was the one holding Akiyo’s hand right now. He really hoped that Akiyo wasn’t able to see the light blush on his cheeks- he pretended that he had to sneeze and used his free hand to cover up his face.

shsl-bunbunfun:
Fumika felt the cold ground underneath her as she awoke, still groggy from having been passed out for so long. What was going on? Her vision was still a blur, and it sure was taking its time in coming back. Slowly, but surely, she found herself able to see once again.
She pushed herself up off the ground weakly, looking around. It was quickly apparent that she wasn’t alone in there… that there were several other people there too. Her eye darted around the room, taking in everyone she saw. They were all quite different. Some boys, some girls, she didn’t have time to analyze them all before the voice turned on, and began reading them the terms of their predicament. Would they be able to leave this place? It seemed not.
Hope’s Peak students? So they must’ve all been Super High School Levels… unless some of the reserve course students were brought along, that is. That wasn’t the important part of the announcement though. After the general introduction was over, the voice’s message got a bit more menacing, as it outlined the purpose of their imprisonment. So they win by killing, and not being caught? And winning means… escape? Fumika looked around again, eyeing the other students with a hint of fear in her eye.
Murder? What if someone tried to kill her? She was small… she wouldn’t be able to fight back against anyone! Would any of them try to kill? No one’s going to kill just because some stupid voice said they could! They didn’t even know if they were trapped yet.  There’s no way a bunch of kids would kill, for a reward they didn’t know about, from a voice they didn’t know.  There’s no way a bunch of kids would kill anyways.
Well, you never know.
Fumika bit her lip. Any one of these people could kill. But… she was being hasty, wasn’t she? She cursed herself. What an idiot… thinking about all this stuff before she even left the place they woke up! She sighed, and pulled her cloak around her and set out through the warehouse doors, hoping to sneak away. She had no particular need to talk to anyone, nor a desire to. She just prayed that no one bothered her.
Even though Cain wasn’t fazed about announcement, he knew that some of the students here wouldn’t be feeling the same way. He wanted to help as many people as he could, but he knew that he was only one person, so he should just try to at least help comfort one person.
As Cain glanced around the room, he noticed a smaller girl covering herself up with a cloak (he was a bit confused about the cloak but he has no room to talk about fashion choices) and attempting to sneak out the room. He certainly didn’t want to stop her choice in leaving, but Cain couldn’t help but feel she was a little distraught. He carefully approached, doing his best to come off as calming and reassuring. He’s had practice in this kind of thing before.
“Excuse me Miss. . .? Are you feeling all right?” He said in a quiet, but low voice. “Ah, I promise I come with good intentions, so please don’t worry.” He tilted his head slightly and tried to smile gently. “You don’t have to verbally respond, either. Just a nod of the head would suffice.”
Cain motioned at the door the girl was about to go through and gave her a questioning look. “If you’d like, may I accompany you? If it’s safety you’re worried about, it should be all right. I’m a Taekwondo Instructor.”

Upon waking up, Crystal tried to move a hand to her forehead. She’s got such a terrible headache but aside from that she couldn’t exactly move. She pushes herself to sit up and finally rests her head in her hands. After a moment she looks around, then listens as the voice speaks. What the fuck…She recognizes some of these people, but can’t say that she exactly knows their names. After the voice cuts off, she pushes herself to stand up.
Clearing her throat, she approached one of the students, in most cases she would be worried about bothering them but no one here seems to be in the middle of anything besides being confused. What do you really say in this sort of situation, though? “Excuse me, you wouldn’t happen to know what’s going on, would you?”
Cain was simply observing the surroundings of the room, noticing the boxes kept close to the corners and walls of the room. He was trying to decide between initiating conversation and investigating the room, but luckily, the decision was made for him. A girl approached him and Cain waited patiently for her to speak.
“Ah, I can’t say I know what’s going on for sure. The announcement from earlier implied that we’re trapped and the only way of escape is this ‘killing game.’ “
Cain frowned and shoved one of his hands into his pockets. “And my phone’s not on me, so there’s no way of calling for help. But I doubt anyone is going to kill anytime soon. Most people are still trying to sort things out and make sense of this situation.”
“But. . . Would you happen to know anything about anyone here? These faces look familiar, but I tended to keep to myself at school, so I never really reached out and make connections.”
