kit connor deserves better

Me creating a tumblr account after years of not having one just to say something: Kit Connor owed NO ONE his sexuality. Not a single person. Not his family or friends, the cast, and especially not these so-called "fans". He should've been allowed to come out on his terms; but instead people wanted to make a false narrative to stir drama around an 18-year-old actor! I shouldn't be so upset about a situation I'm not apart of, but all I can think about his how violated he feels at the moment and that's honestly sickening.

There's something so horrific about some of the individuals in the Heartstopper fandom. I mean first it was finding out where Kit Connor was staying and scaring him in a hotel. Then it was trying to cancel him on the internet. Next its him being forcefully outed. The list probably goes on, but these are the ones I personally remember. Dear so many young Heartstopper fans (because that's where I feel like a majority of the problems probably lie); you are not his friend, you are not entitled to anything from Kit Connor. You can watch the show, you can love the character of Nick, you can think Kit Connor is a great actor; but no way can you believe that you are entitled to be in the know of anything about him. He is a real human being that has become a celebrity rather quickly, and it's sad to see how people believe that since he's a celebrity he can be treated so terribly.

I'm hoping that being in Heartstopper won't become a traumatic thing for him. And I hope Kit Connor knows that so many are on his side.

"Fans", be more careful.
