Globalization and Violence Globalization is essential since it accords people the freedom to associate with one another. It is through globalization that countries have formed economic blocs. Besides globalization bearing some advantages, it has been a source of violence. One of the incidents which shocked me entails the Russian attack on Ukraine. The primary reason why Russia accosted Ukraine was that it was against the idea of Ukraine expressing its globalization by attempting to join NATO. Russia felt that the idea of Ukraine would interfere with its operations, and thus it did not want to suffer any loss associated with such a decision. Moreover, Russia did not want Ukraine to enjoy the benefits of a country joining such an economic bloc. The big question which emerged from this war was why was Russia interfering with a sovereign nation? Do some countries have a right to interfere with the affairs of another country? I felt that this is the biggest tragedy that we have in the 21st century and should not be condoned. The United States of America and other nations such as Germany, Canada, Italy, and France have rebuked this move. Furthermore, such nations have introduced sanctions against Russia, and this has resulted in the fall of Russia's economy. Despite the number of steps taken by other nations, Putin has insisted continuously that he will continue to fight Ukraine, and he is not ready to engage in a dialogue with Ukraine. To make matters worse, Putin has threatened to attack these nations if they continue to stand against him. The biggest crime which Putin has committed is killing people without caring. The worst case happened when a missile released by Russia hit a maternity ward resulting in the death of young babies and pregnant women. This issue makes me wonder, are wars initiated by other nations a threat to globalization? Can globalization be protected by dealing with wars or other countries respecting the sovereignty of other nations?

Global Citizenship Blog Post #3
The Olympics hosted by varied countries involving people from different races and origins enhances global unity. During the Olympic games, those participating and competing interact and socialize with each other, resulting in cultural exchange.   The formation of the Olympic committee governing its operations worldwide has contributed to laws and policies formation guiding how the Olympians are needed to behave and what they need to avoid.
Tumblr media
The World Anti-Doping  Agency (WADA) involves a committee formed in ensuring that unfair winning has been eradicated in the Olympic sectors. This aspect has been made possible through WADA ensuring that doping has been abolished in the Olympics through enabling participants, regardless of race or origin, to be tested to proving that they have not consumed the illegal substances contributing to unfair winning.
Significantly, the Olympics has ensured human rights are not denied to the participants across the world. Those participating in the Olympic games tend to initiate possible efforts in ensuring that they uplift their countries' flags, hence there is a need for them to be valued and their needs well catered for.
Recently, there have emerged incidences of the Olympic participants worldwide not issued with the proper treatment as experienced in the past years. The  Winter  2022 Olympics proved these connotations based on the complains raised.
The Health and wellness of all the Olympic participants are critical and needs to be well catered for. Health and victory correlate, implying that the worldwide Olympic formed board should focus on ensuring that the participants are provided with a conducive environment contributing to them focusing on achieving positive results.
The fact that condoms were not issued in the Winter 2022 Olympics, unlike in the past years, indicated the participants' needs were disregarded. This aspect resulted in the fans and the participants raising voices concerning how the medals have been prioritized highly than their wellness. The athletes in different parts of the world raising this issue raised more questions to the general public worldwide. It is evident that through these complaints, the board will ensure that crucial strategies have been implemented upon any major upcoming Olympic event.

How has the pandemic changed us and the world around us?
How has the pandemic changed us and the world around us?
The first and foremost impact of the epidemic is that social ideology will become conservative. People blame others more than they examine themselves, and internal contradictions in society are externalized. Although this makes social thoughts relatively simple and political inclinations clearer, it is bound to have a huge reaction to the formation of globalization.
In economic and social terms, the impact of the epidemic is the deputization and monetization of finances. Many anti-epidemic fiscal expenditures have created deficits, which have caused the debt levels of most countries to continue to rise, and the debt ratios of major economies in the world have hit record highs. In the first quarter of 2020, the overall global debt-to-GDP ratio reached 245%, surpassing the global overall debt-to-GDP ratio of 215% during the 2008 global financial crisis. This situation can only be compensated by issuing currency, and it is possible to maintain the normal operation of the national finances. Debt monetization in advanced economies such as the US, Japan, and the UK, where central banks finance government debt by printing money, has become very common.
In addition, global economic growth will be stagnant and structured. After the outbreak, China was the only large economy with growth, and other economies were basically negative. If the epidemic continues, this structural pattern of economic growth and the trend of global economic growth slowing down or even halting growth will continue, and unemployment will be expanded, prolonged and structured. The substitution effect of technology on people will make people in the epidemic try to find more ways to replace manual employment, such as online, intelligent, or automated.
Therefore, the continued existence and increase of the unemployed may also be a long-term phenomenon in the post-epidemic era.
Correspondingly, the industry and industry trends will be centralization, oligopoly, intelligence and online. In fact, most of the beneficiaries from this epidemic are online oligarchs, and many small and medium-sized enterprises have been affected more negatively. They may disappear, or they may be merged into the supply chain of super-large enterprises and oligopolistic enterprises, and the degree of industry concentration will increase accordingly.

My Experience as Global Citizen
The term 'global citizenship' collectively captures globally conscious individuals' social, political, environmental, and economic actions (Appiah, 2006). The idea of global citizenship means that people do not exist in isolation; but instead, they are part and parcel of the worldwide community. With the passage of the United Nations Sustainable Goals in 2015, people have been encouraged to embrace tenets of global citizenship for the benefit of their sole societies and others. Every single day I participate as a global citizen on multiple fronts. I understand that my identity transcends geographical limits and that my actions have a ripple effect on other people.
Globalization has drastically transformed our lives. It has effectively speed up the movement and exchange of goods and services. Technology has made it easier for people to interact and share ideas with other people. Globalization has positively impacted my life. It has enabled me to travel and enjoy the cultures of other people. Before the advent of the Covid 19 pandemic, it was easier for people to travel globally. However, the pandemic impaired the movement of people. Despite the government's restrictions to curb the spread of the virus, the spirit of globalization could not be curtailed. People still interacted virtually.
Furthermore, my experience with globalization has been related to buying and selling goods and services. Technology has provided a busy avenue for people to meet and sell their wares. I have purchased goods and services from international firms. Technology has removed trade barriers. Currently, it is much cheaper for people to buy a variety of goods at a lower price. I have taken advantage of such privilege by collaborating with foreign sellers in importing goods. I think all should embrace globalization as it brings positive development to our lives.
