SA-E-Y-AMA
For this tradition,
Construct a core from rough clay.
On top of this,
Take a sheet of stretched wax and mould.
Work the details in.
When this is complete,
Carefully
Cover with another layer of clay.
Ensure that the intricacies
Do not get lost in the process.
When the mould is dry,
Scrap the base clean to reveal the ring of wax.
Then, connect wax rods.
Cover the structure with another layer of clay
And leave it to dry once again.
Later, heat the mould over a fire so that the wax melts.
Pour it out to leave a cavity.
Heat the mould in an oven,
This protects it from cracking.
Elsewhere in your workshop,
Heat metal and melt it in crucibles.
Bring the mould close to the furnace and secure it in the ground.
Pour
Hot liquid metal into your mould.
When it has cooled down, take it from the ground,
Chip off the negative, the hardened clay,
And clean to reveal the surface.
