          the buzzing excitement in their veins hasn't drained since they first got confirmation that everything was good to go with the adaption.  their smile is permanent     (     as if they aren't always showing off their teeth in impressive joy     )     on their way to meet the actor.  they come to the table armed with a tote bag overpacked with their laptop, a hefty copy of character studies, and of course the book that's up for adaption.     

"     no, oh my god, it's totally entirely my pleasure.  i've watched like all of your movies to prepare.     "     they take the seat across from him, struggling for a moment to hang their tote on the chair, only to give up and set it on the floor.     "     do all actors in adaptions do this  ?  it's my first time experiencing this, so i'm completely out of my depth.     "

It had been a good while since Harry really got invested in a role. His acting roles had been limited. With his years in the business, he had the privilege to handpick the roles he wanted to play. He wasn't going to sign onto anything. When he heard of the this fantasy best seller being worked on, he jumped onto the project. Like any good actor, he took on some research on the story. But just reading the book wasn't enough for him. He got his people to contact the author in hopes to set up a lunch with him. Harry reserved a table at one of his favorite cafes in the city. He had only been sitting for a moment before he noticed someone walking up to the table. Quickly he swiped the corner of his mouth to greet them. "Thank you so much for taking the time to meet me today. It's such a pleasure to meet you."

          "     oh i'm great with fashion emergencies  !     "     under the education subheading of her resume is 100 hours of five minute crafts watched while procrastinating.  if that doesn't qualify her to assist them, she's not sure what will.  who needs a fashion degree when you have royalty free music accompanying brain-rotting neon-colored videos  ?

          jem could get that stain out in a couple minutes, but she's pretty sure that by the time she conjures up club soda and laundry detergent, it will be too late.     "     the way i see it, you have two options.  one  ;  ditch the shirt and enlist enough confidence in yourself that you can't possibly look tacky.  or, two  ;  trade clothes with me.     "     she smooths down the front of her dress and grins, genuine in her intentions.     "     it'll probably fit, and hey, at least you'll stand out for something fun.     "

" donatella's gonna KILL me. " elliott groaned, gesturing toward the massive red wine stain that now stole the attention from their entire look. he pulled it over their head, trying to formulate a plan, " hey! you any good with fashion emergencies? " he pleaded toward the person nearest him, " what do we think? wear the shirt backwards and hide the stain with the back of my coat. or just. ditch the shirt entirely and go shirtless under the coat. or is that too tacky? "

          "     sit down.     "     she all but throws her glasses onto her desk, every line of her body strung with frustration.     "     what part of you don't have to answer that do you not understand  ?     "     harper exhales and wills the annoyance out and away.  the meeting was nothing short of a disaster, and while she can fix it, it won't be overnight.  maybe some of her vexation is misdirected — a byproduct of having clients the same age as your children.     "     is something going on  ?  you can tell me anything, and it's really better that you do.     "
