HEY GUYS! HEY GUYS! YEAH YOU! GUESS WHAT!??! My best friend ever centerlinemartialarts Just got his first stripe in bjj! This is awesome and you guys should spam his ass giving him props. I can’t describe how happy I am to see my bro get his first stripe.  So where did I meet centerlinemartialarts. Henceforth referred to as Walle? Well after I started judo I ended up setting up the LGBTQ Self defense seminars. Walle was head of a non profit group that was for empowering gay adult males 18-30 and heard about the self defense seminars and decided to check out Bushido Judo School and see if we were legit. He had also been a recent transplant to NC from Ohio and was looking for a dojo and style to call home. He had a extensive background in Wing Chun kung fu and he lied out little dojo and decided to call us home and join the ranks of the judoka. When I had to leave my old dojo he eventually followed and we picked up the new journey of bjj together. On the way he’s managed to earn medals and kick butt and I can’t wait to see where he goes from here.  He is a true martial artist and I’m proud to call him my friend.

Wow what a day! I got my first ever bjj gold medal in gi and got silver in no gi. I got an armbar, a key lock from a triangle, and a RNC. My gold medal match was almost 13 minutes!!! I had a blast and its a honor and pleasure to have such amazing training partners!! I’ll post more pics and vids soon :)

Congrats! Sounds like you've earned it!

Tonight was my schools first Wing Chun test in a very long time. Normally ranking is done during class but recently they decided to host full tests. Now the way Sifu Francis Fong does Wing Chun is a little bit different. Along with Siu Nim Tao (On one leg), the Chum Kiu, several dummy sessions, trapping sets, and Chi Sao. I also had to do a full TBA Muay Thai round of 60 kicks and 40 knees while defending strikes, a “Gates Drill” round where I had to defend the 8 gates and throw 250 chain punches (this was after a regular gates round of defending just the four gates), 20 Wing Chun Pushups (which involve pushups on your knuckles dropping down counting to ten then coming back up), and finally 75 one leg battle punches on each leg. Making this perhaps one of the most grueling Wing Chun tests a person can go through, but it makes me eligible to become and Instructor and Black Belt under Sifu Francis Fong. Next weekend I’ll be down in Atlanta at his academy doing his Instructor/Affiliate training camp. But tonight I enjoyed ranking up to Blue Sash in Wing Chun. One more step along the way.
