'oh eddie getting jealous' this 'buck's first gay sex experience' that. what I want to see is, in the early days after Buck comes out, Tommy very gently pushing him against the wall in the lower level of the firehouse and sweetly but thoroughly kissing him goodbye before pulling back and smiling and leaving. and a 10 second close shot on Buck still leaning against the wall all blushing and giggly before we pan back to see half the Fam on the top level leaning over the railing as Chim wolf-whistles

whenever i've imagined the upcoming bucktommy kiss (which is a lot) where buck initiates the kiss at the wedding once tommy saves chim, i imagine buck runs up to tommy and immediately kisses him in front of everyone. which is great and all, but now i think it'd be great if it starts with a simple hug first. like there's a slowmo scene of tommy getting off the plane, looking around for someone he knows, and then buck yells his name and sprints over, we hear tommy let out a soft "evan" before he's stumbling at the force of buck's body colliding with his as he hugs him so tightly. and as buck holds him, there's a few reaction shots. bobby has a slightly raised eyebrow, wondering when they got so close, athena looks a lil confused but happy nonetheless, hen and karen share a look, maybe we see buck's parents share one too (but less knowing/sweet and more worried), and eddie smiles a lil. let's out a sigh of relief because tommy is his friend too and he's glad he's safe. and THEN buck kisses tommy. and oh my god we get to see everyone's face switch immediately. the shock and the confusion and the pride. oh it'd just be so beautiful.

Remembering when I told some friends who casually watch the show that I could see Buck and Eddie getting together at some point and how they were so confused as to why lol.
The thing is, I couldnât even give them much of an explanation. They donât watch the show with a microscope, they donât care about subtext, they watch the show for what it is and so does most of the audience. So yeah, to them itâs not a slow burn, nothing even resemblant of that, and it wonât be unless thereâs actual interactions between them that explicitly point in that direction.
I think the major mistake some are making is thinking of Buck & Eddie as a âslow-burnâ that the show has been intentionally building for years, and therefore seeing bucktommy (both its existence and itâs relative popularity as a ship) as a betrayal. But thereâs really little evidence of that. When you take a step back and try to view it objectively, try to take things at mostly face value⊠thereâs a reason the larger general audience didnât catch on. Thereâs a reason that Bi Buck came as a surprise to so many.
Watch the show with just some average person who doesnât spend a lot of time online in predominantly fandom based spaces, who hasnât trained themselves to look for âsubtextâ and âparallelsâ in everything. Donât influence them first. Chances are, theyâre not going to see it. And thatâs because it was never really intentional. They wrote and acted this knowing some people might read it a certain way, and thatâs okay, but it wasnât the message they were actively trying to send to the average viewer.
Itâs not a secret code that only the very smart and attentive will crack. Itâs a network procedural that regularly forgets the passage of time and is always scrambling to figure out the story details and swapping out scenes because theyâre short on one and not the other. They regularly write backwards from the conclusion because theyâre disorganized and not great at time management. Itâs actually the perfect set of circumstances to create a large active online fanbase, because of emotional stories and the human nature drive to correct for logical inconsistencies.
Fandom tends to extend credit where not due in some areas, and then exact payment they were never promised in others. Itâs a bit like winning the jackpot- itâs a nice idea but you have to know the odds are against you, so pinning all your hopes on the Powerball is probably not a great idea. Someone else winning doesnât mean anything was taken from you. No one made you buy that ticket or promised you a thing. You canât be mad at the guy on the news calling out the numbers, or the cashier who sold you a ticket because they said âgood luck!â to be nice.

I have to talk about this scene once again because I feel like there is so much to say.
What Buck meant when he said it was "exhausting":
First he asked Tommy for a tour because he wanted to get to know him better (his words, not mine).
At the end of the tour Buck asked Tommy out but it didn't work out ( Eddie arrived and Tommy left with him).
Instead of asking him out on another day or calling him, Buck did the most Buck thing ever by trying to find roundabout ways of seeing him again.
First, he tried the easy way, by trying to join Trivia night when Eddie mentionned he was seeing Tommy again, but Eddie asked him to babysit Chris instead.
So he went for a different approach by trying to get Eddie to invite him to the basketball game.
When that didn't work out, he got Chimney to invite him.
That's why Buck said that trying to get Tommy's was "exhausting", because it was. He set up so many ploys to get to spend time with Tommy and none of them worked.
That's also why Tommy is surprised, because he didn't see all the nonsense Buck was pulling to get to see him. Tommy really thought this was about Eddie and Buck being afraid of losing his friend.
But if Buck had been trying to spend time with Eddie, all he had to do was ask.... they hang out all the time. The only times Buck is actively trying to join Eddie's plans is when he know Tommy will be joining.
Buck never behaved like he did when Eddie had plans with other people than Tommy.
I can't even blame Buck because this is exactly how I act when I have a crushđ
