Cliche Blogs about 2015

Here it comes, one of those cliche reflections for the past year on the last day of the year.

2015 was a year of change for me, literal change. I guess it was a turning point in my life. It was the year that I left home for the Netherlands and saw the world with fresh eyes. I left my second home, Maryknoll. I left my beloved city, Hong Kong. At the same time, I slowly let go of my ignorant self. Thanks to something truly amazing called UWC. Thank you for crashing into my life with all these people from everywhere.

2015 was also a year that I start to realise who are the ones that came into my life and stayed.

I can’t imagine my 2015 without you. All the ups and downs, wonderful moments. hard times feel better because of you. We both grew and changed a lot, as we moved into new environments. I guess 2015 was somewhat a special year for us too. From open day till now. Things altered dramatically, but I know, my feeling for you haven’t.

Before I left, I never expected you to be such a great part of my life. In lament terms, I took you guys for granted. Today, we met again, it was a feeling that’s inexplicable. It was felt so warm. You guys are a literal shelter, because I know you guys will always have my back, wherever I am. I saw a part of me in you all, that little piece of us that we all share. Why? because we grew up together in this utopia called Maryknoll. We went through the most stupid fights, the cries and tears that tore us apart and glued us back together. But most of all, the joyous moments that shaped our thoughts and minds of who we are today. I have became a better person because of the existence of you guys. And it was till I leave I realize, I will NEVER EVER be able to find anybody or any group of friends to replace you guys because in my heart, there’s only one rainbow. I still remember the tears of my farewell. Physically we are apart, but never are we by heart.

these uyl people<3 it’s obvious those who stayed. Somehow this year, it was the year that showed who is still paying the effort to keep up the relationship. Thank you for being my friend, reading my blog despite all the other things you guys have to do. Thanks for listening to my sht at the really bad times, meeting up with me this break and most of all staying in my life. What we went through seems so distant, but one thing that’s irrefutable is that, what we did really was a friendship crash course. It was some of the greatest memories in my secondary school life. Sometimes I look at old photos and think to myself, ‘those were the really good days, without anything to worry but parents yelling.’ For all the great memories to look back when times are bad, I hereby say thank you to you all.

It’s weird how we actually are a combination. Ask me what were our memories. They’re so distant that it was like 2 or 3 years ago. But one thing I knew, we always had each others backs. I know I can turn to you guys when I needed to. And I hope it’s the same for you three. At times I thought to myself, do I belong here, I seem to be the odd one out, do I feel comfortable? Thank you for not judging me nor replacing me with any person. We got this name for some really stupid reason but I still love it <3 In this group, I’m the odd one out, ALWAYS. But that doesn’t matter, because in friendships, we embrace differences, we learn from each other and most importantly, rely on each other.

Funfair with you 2 I swear was one of the greatest memories in F5. That little connection that we all shared. That common topic that we all had. I guess we’ll call it presidents? Someday I believe when we look back, despite whether our significant other is still the same person, we’ll laugh and joke about this funny coincidence. I’m glad we’re finally gonna meet up <3 I wouldn’t say I grew up with you two but I guess it’s some weird friendship the messed up MCSSA1415 has brought me. Weird connections, interesting coincidences, and a mission for a fabulous funfair and of course, a lot of love.

2015 was a year of change filled with love, a year with challenges conquered and most of all, a year of growth that I’ve never imagined. Thank you to all the people who made my 2015 filled with sweet memories and delight.
