So my mom’s 70th birthday is coming up and we’re putting together a slideshow. My SIL said she has a picture of me and my mom from when I was around 6 but wanted to check with me to see if it would be too triggering. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness and asked to see the picture. I was surprised by how sad I looked in the picture despite smiling, sort of. It probably had nothing to do with the trauma but it still makes me sad to see. Picture below the cut.
