The Sea Beast has shown me that we don't have enough How to train your Dragon esk movies/series and honestly it's a crime. Give me more "younger generation realize that the 'monsters' they were thaught to hate arnt actually monsters, and then go out of their way to prove it."

The Sea Beast is full of women characters, none that are reduced to be "the woman" pirate/sailor, the only woman in the gang (smurfette) or romantic tropes.

Normally these type of stories are composed of entirely male ensembles, but just look at this group shot where you can see how diverse the characters are. They all look different and unique, from design to voice acting.

Even small roles like the lady driving the carriage - these minor characters that are always male, or the person serving drinks being a man (yes I noticed it people who made this movie!! I see what you did there).

Great movie, can't wait to watch it again today

i wish I had a movie like the sea beast when I was younger. Black girl with her GORGEOUS natural hair being a badass sea goer and befriending monsters 😭❤️

The Sea Beast made my little fantasy fiction nerd heart SO HAPPY. Such an amazing film and there was such dark elements for it being a kids movie. I’d honestly love LOVE another movie.

Is it nitpicking if I say I'm tired of people calling America animation anime? Like it can be anime inspired, but it's not anime unless you actually go to Japan and make it there. Anime is Japanese animation. You can't make it in America and call it anime.

I know anime is mainstream now. There's literally nothing wrong with cartoons. If people dropped the whole animation is for children bullshit, more people would care for cartoons like they do for anime.
