NaruHina Analysis
Naruto Manga Part 1
Part 5
Naruto and Neji are about to start their fight. Naruto mentions and does the same gesture of the oath of blood he made for Hinata. But Hinata has no knowledge of this promise. He is going to fight mainly for her, but also himself, of course, since Nejiâs cruel words about destiny and failures also affected him. But he does it especially for her, otherwise he wouldnât mention the promise again and act so intense about him. Hinata had really reached him with her inspirational words before this fight, and the bond he created with her earlier during Neji vs Hinata is why heâs so intense and eager to win. Remember how depressed he was before Hinataâs speech? Now he has regained his confidence and feels tougher than ever, all thanks to her words.
Hinata has a strange reaction where she coughs up blood everytime Naruto takes a hit. This is not the first time that happend, it also happend during the chunnin exams in Naruto vs Kiba. I think what Kishimoto is trying to show here is that Hinata and Naruto have such a deep bond that every hit Naruto takes Hinata feels too.
When Naruto is on the ground, wounded and defeated, he thinks about Rock Lee and Hinata. Both have been treated as failures in their lives, and that had to overcome hardships in their lives like loneliness, inferiority complex, resentment, misunderstanding etc. All things he have gone through too.
Hinata loses consciousness after her wounds âseem to reopenâ. So she misses out on what Naruto is about to say about her soon. I always wondered why Kishimoto didnât let Hinata see this, oh well...
Naruto has a grudge on Neji after Hinata vs Neji fight. His words about destiny and failures deeply affected him, but also the way he treated Hinata made him exceptionally angry.
This kinda speaks for itself, Naruto is literally saying why heâs so furious at Neji, people who say Naruto doesnât care about Hinata are so wrong, JUST READ THIS, THIS ANSWERS THEIR QUESTIONS. Anyway im getting ahead of myself.
What Naruto is saying here is that he still has a grudge on Neji for how he mentally attacked Hinata before their fight. He is so mad at how he insulted her and mocked her for being an failure despite how sad and innocent she was. He says himself that he could never forgive him for treating her like that, she reached Naruto so much that he has to call him out on his treatment of her. Hinata was so much like Naruto he could see this, they will both fight until the end.
After Nejiâs backstory speech he accuses Naruto of never understanding his pain. Naruto starts thinking about his childhood and how much pain he himself has gone through thanks to having the nine tails inside of him. Just like Neji had his curse seal. We all know how much Naruto has suffered because of this. But he keeps fighting anyway.
Naruto can feel his pain, but the diffrence is that Naruto doesnât let it get to him like Neji. He continues to fight over and over again, never giving up regardless of how bad he feels. He doesnât let himself get consumed by hatred because he believes in himself despite all odds. And he sees all this in Hinata. He sees himself in Hinata. He has a deep appreciation and respect for her otherwise he wouldnât keep bringing her up during their fight.
Naruto could have brought up himself here since that was what he was thinking about before, but he brings up Hinata instead. He tells Neji that she has also suffered just as much as him. Naruto understands and empathizes with the suffering of Hinata. He recognizes her will to overcome and the extreme effort to change into someone better, just as he does. He also mentions that Hinata struggles to gain the respect of her clan, just like him too with the people of the village, he understands her will to be acknowledged as that is something he likes in other people. Naruto is very defensive and protective of her that he goes out of his way to call Neji out on his treatment of her. Why is he so eager to bring her up if it wasnât important to him?
When trying to activate Nine Tails Chakra he thinks of Hinata (also Rock Lee but mostly Hinata) and his promise to her and for her to be watching him. This was actually the first time he was motivated to activate Nine Tails Chakra for Hinata, even before Pain. To activate the Nine Tails Chakra one has to reach very strong emotions and to achieve this, Naruto thinks about other failures like him to motivate him. But he thinks about Hinata the most and mentions her in their fight over and over again. So thinking about her helps him activate the kyuubiâs chakra which requires strong emotions to activate....
After Naruto defeats Neji he is still thinking about Hinata. He wonders where she is and if sheâs watching him. Letâs really think about this. Narutoâs just defeated one of the strongest shinobi up to this moment. Heâs just proved to everybody, not only all teachers and comrades, but all of Konoha as well, that he can change his destiny. He has guts and nothing is gonna stop him. The people of Konoha and other shinobi nations are acknowledging him. This is incredible for Naruto and despite all that, he is still thinking about Hinata. Iâd say the bond they shared, the promise of blood and the proud failure speech reached Naruto so deeply that it means more to him than the petty acknowledgement of the village that treated him like trash.
So if we take all the NaruHina moments up to this point and form a conclusion iâd say itâs very likely that Naruto was in love with Hinata subconsiously. He was just to young to understand it and quite frankly what he felt for her was suprisingly deep and mature for someone so childish like Naruto. It was genuine apprectiation of someone as a kindred spirit. What Naruto felt for Hinata, even if he didnât know, wasnât a shallow and superficial âcrushâ (*cough* Sakura *cough*) but a genuine fondness of her as a person, her shortcomings didnât matter to him, cause he could feel that her heart was in the right place and he could understand her as a kindred spirit. He even said it himself âi really like people like youâ. He was constantly mesmerised by her actions and words and he showed in her fight and in this fight that he really cared about her and was very protective of her too and had to bring her up to Neji over and over again, he just couldnât let go. No wonder he fell in love with Hinata so fast and hard in The Last, because he already felt something for her for a very long time... He just didnât know it yet...
That is all for these analyses. Check out my other parts if you wanna read about all the other Part 1 NaruHina Moments in more detail.

NaruHina Analysis
Naruto Manga Part 1
Part 4
Naruto is about to have his fight with Neji. He frets over everything heâs heard of Neji, and his power. He is scared out of his mind of fighting someone so powerful that he could barely sleep that night. Heâs unable to be his usual hot headed and confident self this time. Naruto is actually insecure. He hides behind a bravado because it masks his vulnerabilty.
We can see here how he tries to cheer himself up with his usual load confident-tough guy behaviour, but his fear of facing Neji and presumibly Gaara is too much for even that. His bravado is faltering and despair is taking over. Heâs falling into an old self that he tries to desperatly ignore but his fear of the reality of going up against such fiercely powerful opponents.... its simply too much to keep it up even for him. His depression is coming back to him.
He goes to the training grounds, probably to try and relive some fond memories of when he first became a ninja. Almost like visting dear places before one dies... Anyways he sees Hinata standing there and his first instinct is to ask if sheâs alright now (so he obviously remembers her fight). Hinata is startled of his sudden appearance and hides behind a training pole for comfort.
Naruto doesnât wanna reveal why heâs here, since you know, hes depressed and scared over his upcoming fight and he doesnât wanna show that. After his somewhat angry answer, Hinata looks sad and Naruto sighs because he realises he sounded mean and that wasnât his intention. (But i feel like it was an exception for Hinata since sheâs so calm and nice to him so he feels bad, if it was someone else he wouldnât care or even open up more but continue his bravado). He asks her about Neji and if heâs powerful since sheâs just fought him.
Look at Narutoâs face after she tells him Neji is strong, extremly bothered and worried. Naruto tries to hide his emotions and screams out really loadly as a cover up for his despair. Heâs worried that someone will see his weakness, that he isnât as confident and happy as he seems to be on the outside. He pretends in front of her that he isnât afraid and worried.
Hinata confess that it was all thanks to him that she feels like she has changed. Naruto continues with his bravado to hide his fear, but he knows exactly what Hinata means about wanting to change. But in his current mood heâs unable to believe that she thinks that highly about him. This is very odd behaviour coming from the hot headed load confident Naruto.
Naruto always tries to hide when heâs hurt or worried. He doesnât want people to feel pity for him so thatâs why he always acts tough and have this bravado behaviour. But his true emotions come out and he opens up to her that he might seem strong to her, but thatâs only because he acts tough and in reality heâs frustrated because heâs a failure. This is the first time we see Naruto acting like his trueself in front of someone. We see him vulnerable and natural, speaking freely about his concerns and insecurities. Not in front of Sasuke, Sakura or Kakashi, no, all this in front of Hinata of all people. Why? Well, in universe because sheâs able to make him feel calm and after what happend in her previous fight he started seeing her as a kindred spirit with similar problems as him. He feels comfortable to reveal something so personal and that is defiantly not usual behaviour for Naruto (atleast not this early in the manga). He hasnât even been his true self in front of Iruka yet and that says something about what he feels for Hinata.
But Hinata, immediatly, dismiss Narutoâs words, And makes her âProud Failure Speechâ, her first motivational talk to Naruto. But Hinata doesnât just tell him what he wants to hear, she calls him a âproud failureâ and even tells him heâs not perfect. So, to all that antis who says Hinata is meek with Naruto, this proves theyâre wrong. She tells him exactly what she thinks of him but not to please him but to encourage him and not let him sink emotionally.
Hinata tells him that his true strength is his will to never give up and that she thinks heâs an incredibly strong person. This touches Naruto so much that hes speechless and mesmerised and even blushing. Itâs a similiar reaction he had when Iruka acknowledged him.
We see here that the first time he felt warmth and love was when Iruka gave him his headband and acknowledged him. So what do you think heâs feeling during her Proud Failure Speech? Itâs certaintly something âwarmâ atleast, i tell you that ;)
She motivated him so much that he no longer feels depressed and feels GREAT now and itâs all thanks to her speech. Her words not only brought him out of despair but also helps him for his upcoming fight against Neji but also Gaara and probably all the other enemies in the story too. Hinata just taught him something incredible about himself he didnât even think of. Hinata made him realize just how strong he really is and that his true strength is how he never gives up, something he already thinks very strongly of. Imagine what that must feel like for him.
We have seen him motivated by memories of Iruka, Sasuke, Haku,⌠but never through a direct speach, face to face, this was also the reason he showed his true power in his fight against Gaara, the Proud Failure Speech and these memories was the real reason.
Naruto then has the honesty to tell her what he thought of her before but that he now really likes people like her. (Which is just a less awkward way of saying that he now adores her). He tells her she better come watch him kick Nejiâs ass, since he will do it mainly for her. Dont forget that he also made that blood vow that he now has serious motivation to fulfill. Hinata is completly speechless, poor girl, she probably never expected someone to say that to her, the way sheâs been treated by her clan, let alone by the person she admires the most.
Why would Kishimoto even bother to create this chapter? Because itâs not only foreshadowing of NaruHina, but also a character defining moment for Naruto. If it werenât for her speech he would have most certaintly been killed by Neji. We saw how depressed he was. So that means Naruto dies In chapter 100, R.I.P Uzumaki Naruto. But also without truly knowing what his real motivation and strength was he wouldnât be able to defeat strong opponents like Pain. It was his will to never give up that brought out his victory against Pain and that made him finally be acknowledged by the Village atlast. But without this speech he wouldnât know it, he wouldnât feel it as strongly compared to if someone that truly understood him told it to him.
Also about NH, this is the beginning of something. This settles the base of a future relationship. When you start a relationship with someone it is needed you like her/him as a person first, at least, all good relationships. And Naruto and Hinata have already achieved that. Also being able to open up to someone about your insecurities and worries, especially when youâre someone who tries their hardest to hide their true emotions like Naruto, and then being able to get out of despair by the other persons motivational words so easily (while looking like youâre about to melt), i mean this means something. Itâs foreshadowing to Naruto and Hinata as eventual lovers.
Anyway that is all for this part, here are the previous parts

NaruHina Analysis
Naruto Manga Part 1
Part 3
While everyone else doubt that Hinata could continue to fight, Naruto is seen getting very frustrated. He wants Hinata to prove that failures can change. By adopting his attitude she shows Naruto that she has the same mind set as him and that obviously creates a huge impact on the neglected orphan who no one pays any respect to. That someone admires him and adopts his nindo, that he has such an influence on someone is amazing to him. So thus he naturally respects her and believes in her. Heâs very eager to watch and cheer for her, because he sees his own struggles in her and acknowledges her as an equal. While everyone else doubts, he believes and i think thatâs very important.
Hinata attacks with all her strength, while Narutoâs words resonates in her mind. She never belittled Naruto, never judged him. She has always believed in him throughout her life, as we see in the flashbacks panels. We see here just how strong Hinata feels for Naruto. He is her comfort, her source of inspiration. She is treated like dirt by her family in a world that forces children to fight as soldiers. Hinata is a natural pacifist. Her calm and kind nature is too peaceful for war and perhaps that holds her back from her potential. Low self esteem and self doubt certaintly doesnât help either. But when she looks at Naruto, she feels hope, that even she can achieve something, that she is worth something. She looks at the other âfailureâ and feel admiration and hopefulness just from watching his behaviour. Heâs load, sheâs quiet. He is confident, she is insecure. Heâs an extrovert, sheâs shy. The opposite attracts.
May i ask why Kishimoto would bother to show this if it wasnât important? Hinata is a side character, yet we see her internal dialogue and how she feels for the main character. All this has a meaning and the answer is that Hinata will become Narutoâs love interest.
Kurenai has seen how much Hinata has tried to change, even when she fails, she keeps trying. She even admits that, although Hinata will lose the match against Neji, Hinata has shown her will to change, and this is a huge step in the development of her character. Naruto is once again her source of inspiration. Knowing that Naruto is cheering for her and looking at her with completly diffrent eyes she feels confidence flow through her and believes in herself more than she ever has before. The look in her eyes says it all.
Hinata gets struck down by Neji and it looks like she has lost the match. Iâve seen comments from haters that say Hinata is weak or useless, but i mean really?! Do they even know who sheâs fighting? We see two individual fights of Hinata, Neji and Pain. Neji is the Hyuga Prodigy and a genius, he is also a year older and fought with the intention to kill. And Pain, i mean oh boy. That bloke killed Kakashi, killed Jiraiya, defeated every single shinobi in the strongest village and blew it up with his own jutsu. Almost defeated Naruto and then still had enough Chakra to revive the whole village. Heâs an absolute beast and has powers equal to a God. Only Naruto could defeat those two. Also if Hinata fought anyone else there except for Neji, Lee, Gaara, Sasuke and Naruto she most likely would have clapped them, with relative ease. Not everyone in the Hyuga Clan even unlocks the Byakugan and then they have to master the gentle fist. Which Hinata has done at the age of 12. (She also created her own jutsu in shipudden something that is on par with Naruto and Sasuke so she is far from weak).
The only thing that is on Narutoâs mind right now is Hinata. She is the only thing that matters to him and the only thing he can see in this moment. Naruto knows Hinata wants to change herself. He is seen getting quite upset when it appears that she is losing. Naruto payed so close attention to her that he was the first to notice that she was getting up and yelled very loadly to not stop the match. He was the only one that was not suprised to see her rise up. Of course, he knows she wants to change and this new knowledge of her earns his admiration and respect. He believes in her when everyone else does not and he wants to show them her guts and that she will fight until the end. He would do exactly the same.
Hinata rises up and keeps fighting, so she can prove to Neji that she can choose her own fate and change it. Naruto is proud of her.
Hinata then stands up against Neji and acts like the bigger person, and acknowledges the real problem. That it is Neji who is truly suffering. This enrages him and he goes into attack to kill her.
Hinata starts to cough up blood after the gentle fist damages her organs. Naruto screams out to her and is the first to rush over to her. He asks if sheâs alright and holds her hand while she loses consciousness. That he reaches for her hand when he checks on her, shows just how strongly he bonded to her. (Kishi also has a thing for hand holding when it comes to romantic pairings *hint hint). He looks very worried for her as we can see from Hinataâs POV and stays with her until she loses conciousness completly.
Naruto doesnât separate from Hinata until Neji addresses him, reminding him just the same words he told Hinata, a failure can never change.
Naruto gets extremly irritated by Nejiâs provocation and Naruto says âyou want to test me?â. He then launches at him to beat him to a pulp. Just because he insulted him and thus also Hinata. Naruto was literally going to fight Neji right there and then just because of the way he treated Hinata, and remember this is just an official match, but Naruto reacts very passionatelly and personal to their fight that is technically none of his business. But he felt this personal bond with Hinata that made him react this way. Rock Lee stops Naruto just in time. He could also relate to Hinata since heâs also considered a failure like them, but for whatever reason Naruto is the one who gets much more angry and feels deeper, personal empathy and understanding for Hinata, he has a certain protective instinct regarding her. Which gets confirmed with his next action...
He remembers Hinataâs Ninja Way and bravery which amazed him, so he picks up her blood with his fingers, squeezes his hand and promises Hinata to defeat Neji for her under a vow of her own blood.
This is a very impressive gesture and speaks volume of how strongly Hinata reached to Naruto. This shows us Kishimotoâs intentions with Naruto and Hinata. Until now, Naruto has never looked so serious and passionate and made something so impressive, especially for what is essentially a side character. Something that he saw in Hinata triggered a protective instinct and made him trigger a very passionate gesture. My only conclusion is what Naruto felt during all this was the first signs of love. Love because he cared so much about her fight, love because he acknowledges her as a kindred spirit, love because he believed in her when nobody else did. This is all subconcious for him, but it is what made him react this way.
Maybe of topic here but when Naruto watched Sakuraâs fight, he could not understand why she acted so aggresively with Ino, even due he has a similar rivalry with Sasuke. Kakashi even adresses this. Naruto just cant connect with Sakura. Meanwhile he has no problem understanding Hinataâs situation.
We can see here that his empathy for Hinata is what made him perform his blood vow. He formed a connection with Hinata and that connection was sealed with his blood vow. In Naruto we see how people are connected through blood, for example with the summoning jutsu. Narutoâs blood vow to Hinata was him sealing that connection between them. That will be all for this part. Here are the previous parts if you wanna read them.

NaruHina Analysis
Naruto Manga Part 1
Part 2
Kiba tries to demoralise Naruto emotionally during their fight and Hinata thinks this. We see here how Hinata has watched how everyone treated Naruto for a very long time and has very deep empathy for him. She has an in depth analysis of his character and sees the true person inside and not a monster. No one in their age group feels this much empathy and understanding for him. She admires his strength and determination, she knows he is strong. She knows the effort involved in getting up when you are despaired. She knows that better than anyone and thatâs why she admires Naruto, since she before this moment, wasnât capable of doing the same thing.
Kishimoto shows us just how well Hinata understands Naruto and whos the most empathetic for him. Everyone else is starting to notice and acknowledge him NOW. Hinata has already acknowledged him waaaaay before this. Even with his flaws she still acknowledge the great person she sees inside. This is true love.
Naruto seeks acknowledgement and is willing to do anything to achieve it. But being an abused orphan his view on love is screwed and he thinks just gaining everyones respect and admiration is enough. And how will he achieve this? Well the Hokage has the highest amount of respect, right? If he becomes Hokage then everyone is forced to acknowledge his existance at last. But what he truly wants is for someone to care for him, acknowledge his true self and love him for who he is, he seeks this because he has never felt it and he wants it. To feel wanted and loved is what he desperately seeks the only way he knows how. Hinata is what Naruto wants, Kishimoto knows this, we know this, but Naruto doesnât know it yet.
Hinata gives Naruto some healing ointment. She wants to help him but her shyness is hard to overcome. With all her strength she manages to overpower it and holds out the healing ointment for him. Kurenai, being a matured adult and Shinoâs observation capacity, inmediatly realize the true meaning behind Hinataâs gesture to Naruto. Naruto turns around to look at her immediatly when she said his name but he gets confused by her kind act. He simply cant believe that someone is nice to him.
Naruto doesnât understand why Hinata would give this to him. Kurenai helps in the awkward situation and encourages him to take it. Itâs actually quite sad that Naruto reacts in this way. It shows just how foreign kind gestures towards him are. He accepts her gift, thanks her and calls her a nice girl. When heâs on his way we see him rub his hand on his back, which is a gesture someone usually does when youâre a little embarresed, but pleased. He also has a big smile on his face. He appreciated her gift and i think that it made him start to really like her. Naruto is not one to often tell someone what he really thinks about them, because heâs afraid people will find out about his insecurities (itâs why he has his tough guy bravado) but he calls her nice and he truly ment it. This is one of the first steps of Narutoâs subconscious love for her, her kindness towards him.
Neji begins to demoralize Hinata, even before the fight has started.
Besides Nejiâs hatred for her, she still sees him as a brother.
He makes a psychological analysis of Hinata. Her personality, insecurities and worries. Hinata reveals that she wants to change herself.
Look at Narutoâs reaction. He has the face of someone trying to hide his emotions (his eyes makes it seem like he doesnât care that much) but he actually looks very serious. He knows how it feels like to want to change yourself. He is in a constant battle within himself for the same reason everyday of his life. Neji thinks that destiny cannot be changed. Both his and Hinataâs are already determined. And Hinataâs destiny says that she will always be a failure, no matter how much she tries to improve.
These words deeply affect Naruto, who sees himself reflected in Hinata. (Much like how he saw Haku as being like him, much like heâll see Gaara as being like him, he sees part of himself in Hinata)
Neji continues to mentally attack Hinata, and we see how Naruto gets more and more angry. He cant bare to witness this situation in which he feels completly identified with Hinata.
He tries to hold in his anger that is turning so intense that some of the kyuubi features start to appear (kyuubi lips). Seeing this girl that was so kind to him (wanted to help him in the written exam and gave him some healing ointment) and that he can now see himself reflected in being treated this badly makes him so angry that heâs literally shaking and his inner demon of hate is even leaking a little. He knows he cant interfere even though he clearly wants to so he has to hold it in....
But he cant hold it in any longer and he finally explodes. He screams very loadly and tells her âYOU CAN CHANGE, DONT LISTEN TO HIMâ. He then shouts at Neji to stop decide things about people (her) and then encourage Hinata to fight back and stand up for herself, just like he would do. Hinata is mesmerised by Narutoâs sudden words of support and mentally gets herself together and thanks him for snapping out of her depressing state. One must ask themselves if Naruto was only focused on Neji, why did he directly address Hinata when he exploded âYOU CANâ. It was Hinata he paid attention to, he saw her crying and knew she was in a similar situation as him because of Nejiâs words. He also tells her to stand up for herself and fight back, he encourages her and supports her, he believes in her and he hasnât even seen her fight yet. Heâs probably the first to even support her at all actually.
When Hinataâs attitude changes we see Naruto cheer for her with much more enthusiasm and intensity.
But when Hinataâs attack fails and she gets hit by the gentle fist instead, we see how Naruto gets very shocked and sad. Naruto is shown being distraught when things seem not to be going well.
Neji tells her to forfeit, but Hinata is determined, she has adopted the same nindo as Naruto. Naruto thinks that if she gives up, itâs as if he does it too and he is admiting to all the people who call them failures they were right. He wants Hinata to prove this isnât true. Then he sees her do just that while simultaneously using his own words. Every single day he coexist with people who considers him a failure that will never change. So when he sees Hinata adopting the same attitude as him just by his words, hes a goner. This created a huge impact on him. (Look at his face, heâs completly mesmerised by her (a common theme)).
Naruto reveals that he never knew Hinata was this incredible. He went from thinking she was shy and weird, to then being kind and nice and to know being incredible. That shows how huge an impact this was on him. I find it nice that his peers are suddenly so supportive, Lee says he sees the similarities between them and Sakura even tells him that she has always been watching him. If even their peers notice how Hinata looks at Naruto then you know itâs something special. This is when Naruto really started to notice Hinata.
Look closely at the top right picture of Naruto. You can just make out that heâs actually blushing. He probably thinks âWhy would Hinata be watching me?â But he doesnât feel uncomfortable but rather intrigued as his emotions heightened.
Look at his reaction when she started to cough up blood. Everyone else didnât react that much but Naruto looks on the verge of panic. His reactions are very similar to when he recognized that Haku was like him. But even more deeply.
That will be all for this part. Next part iâll continue with the fight. Here is the previous part if you missed it.

NaruHina Analysis
Naruto Manga Part 1
Part 1
Narutoâs opinion about Hinata isnât very positive at first, but if we apply context and compare her description to other characters itâs actually quite interesting. He comments on how she looks away when he looks at her. Now this may not seem that special at first but it actually means that he has noticed her enough to know that she looks away and has enough information to know that sheâs shy. He also described Sasuke as a guy who acts cool and that he hates, but no one would argue that his bond with Sasuke is likely his strongest bond. His descriptions are obviously quick and superficial and are mostly just comedic relief. Shikamaruâs description was that he was a lazy bum and his description of Shino was that he knew nothing about him. So he atleast has some familiarity with her that sticks out in comparasion to other characters, actually his description is probably the most detailed out of all of them. He seemed to have put more thought into hers.
Naruto is stuck in his own world and fears failing the test so he doesnât even notice when Hinata sits down next to him. Could also be of course that Hinata is shy and doesnât want to attract attention to herself so she moves quietly. Besides she overcomes her shyness and initiates words of encouragement to Naruto.
Naruto is suffering with immense stress and panic over the test and Hinata notices and sympathize with him.
Then just after Naruto decided not to cheat, Hinata offers him to look at her test. Naruto, who is not used to acts of kindness because of his childhood, is so shocked over this that he even blushes a little bit. This little act of kindness from this girl touched him so much more than people think (enough to make him refuse to cheat because he didnât want her to get in trouble because of him).
He questions her offer in his head thinking stuff like âwhy would someone do something like that for me?â. Kindness to Naruto is something that is so foreign to him that he denies it and thinks it must be a trap.
But then he immediatly thinks ânah Hinata wouldnât do thatâ and accuses Kiba of forcing her to do it instead. So he does seem to know her somewhat from the academy since he knows she would never do mean tricks. He also switched his suspicion of her onto someone else rather quickly for someone he âdoesnât knowâ didnât he?
He asks her why, and after seeing her struggle with her anxiety he seems to have a sligthly sympathetic look.
Haha Naruto so dense, he not know she likes him hahhaha
No im just joking, lets actually put some context into this.
Yes, Naruto isnât the smartest, but there are more to him not understanding what she means than that. Think about Narutoâs childhood. He has never experienced parental love, he was constantly treated like the plague and everyone in his village hated him for something he didnât even know about. Of course, someone showing actual care and kindness towards him confuses him, it doesnât help that his IQ is probably below average, but still, you get what i mean. Also lets not forget that he is only 12 and picking up signs that a girl likes you is not something you are usually skilled at, at that age. Also Hinata is shy, and it can be hard for someone as extroverted as Naruto to understand her not so direct statement.
After his very confused expression, Hinata panicks and comes up with a (apparently) good excuse, that excuse also seems to make perfect sense to Naruto lol. (We can see here that Hinata is not yet confident enough with her feelings for him though, obviously has to do with her self esteem issues because of her clan).
Naruto then express how lucky he is that heâs next to Hinata, this could also indirectly be viewed as him saying how lucky he is that someone cares for him like Hinata.
He then notices the chunin writing and then it hits him how cheating could risk him (and Hinata) getting caught.
He puts on a little bravado in front of her and says that an incredible ninja like him doesnât need to cheat.
Then he shows concern for her and says that she could be caught too (He shows concern for her before his own team even). Honestly if someone else offered him to cheat he wouldnât act this nice at all. He would be rude and act in his usual hotheaded way. Itâs because of her shy and calm nature that he even refuses to cheat in the first place or maybe somewhere in his subconsious mind, he thinks that itâs wrong to take advantage of someone who shows kindness towards him even at a huge risk for their own. The truth is that deep down he was very touched by Hinataâs act of kindness.
Hinata then gratiuitously apologizes. And Naruto responds that itâs OK. He then does a funny face and says that heâs an idiot.
For some foreshadowing on Kishimotos part, we see Hinata reacting to Narutoâs fear over the 10th question before anyone else does. Why does this matter? Because itâs Kishimoto building up Hinataâs concern for Naruto, specifically. Acknowledging him.
We see here how Hinata is already willing to risk herself to help him, something that will become a running theme.
Also an interesting detail from earlier.
Hakuâs line âif someone who acknowledged you from the bottom of their heart appeared, wouldnât that person become the most important person to you?â
This line seems to perfectly describe Hinata and i dont think that itâs a coincidence that the arc right after that introduces Hinata and focuses so much on her feelings for Naruto and her acknowledging him more than anyone else. Of course Naruto doesnât know this yet, but in The Last he finally realizes who that person is, Hinata.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 13 Finale
The reanimated Minato appears on the battlefield. He asks Naruto out of the blue, if the girl healing him is his girlfriend. Narutoâs reaction to this is actually very flat and careless. He hesitates and fumbles his words, then he falsesly agree and says âif youâre splitting hairs, i guessâ. The defintion of splitting hairs is and i quote: to make often peevish criticisms or objections about matters that are minor, unimportant, or irrelevant.
So clearly Naruto doesnât even remotly see her in a romantic light. Not that he ever did, his âcrushâ on her was only a side effect of the rivalry with Sasuke. He only noticed her because she actively tried her best to get noticed by Sasuke and made herself as pretty as possible. And Naruto being the goof that he is, saw the biggest Sasuke fangirls attempt at getting his attention and got jealous of Sasuke and tried to get her attention instead of Sasuke so that he could be better than Sasuke at something.
Anyway Sakura becomes furious and immediatly punches Naruto (in the middle of healing him by the way) and he comments on how sheâs supposed to heal him and that heâs suffered more damage now because of her (honestly if anything they are more like two siblings quarrelling).
Then Minato out of the blue just like his stupid girlfriend comment compares Sakura to Kushina. But he actually looks embarrassed that she resembles her not so positive side. Kushina obviously has her loving, caring and ambitious side and he certaintly doesnât compare her to that, but only her temper (that sooo many girls share in Naruto by the way itâs not exactly a unique trait). Minato looks embarrased and nervously laughs and then says somewhat sarcastically â i leave my son in youâre capable handsâ.
So he doesnât actually supports them as a couple as some have claimed. Naruto later tells him that he hasnât found a girlfriend and he accepts that and supports him.
Naruto thanks Sakura for healing him and then tells her to rest. He doesnât actually see her as a capable kunoichi and he never really believed in her strength. Compare this to how he treats Sasuke or Hinata where he willingly invites them into battle with him and it becomes blatantly clear that Naruto doesnât respect her. Besides Sakura even comments on how he only sees her as a damsel in distress and sheâs not exactly wrong.
The first thing Naruto thinks about when he sees Sakuraâs new super strength is how sheâs gonna âturn him into a stainâ if he makes her angry. Her physical abuse on him has obviously had an lasting effect if thatâs the first thing he comes up with. Compare this to Sasukeâs reaction where he smirks proudly instead.
We get another perspective of Narutoâs and Hinataâs hand holding where we see Naruto squeeze her hand harder and him smiling at her. We also have more foreshadowing of Naruto and Hinataâs future relationship. She notes she wants to stay beside Naruto forever, while remembering Naruto, she is able to not only complete the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, but also combine it with Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists.
Naruto is later at the verge of death and Sakura uses her role as a medic Ninja to try and save him. She talks about how his unbeliveable dream is just around the corner and also does CPR on him (which a lot of people confuse with a kiss for some reason, i guess theyâre either stupid or desperate for anything remotely close to NaruSaku). Besides it feels a lot more like Sakura is desperate to save her friend, who is much more like a brother to her than a romantic partner. Honestly the girl has been horny for Sasuke most of her life so why would that suddenly change just because she tries desperatly to save her friend who she only has nothing but platonic feelings towards.
When Narutoâs saved he doesnât even thank her and just says âlets goâ. The depth honestly astounds me!
Later Sakura performs a very wise decision of rushing straight towards Madara with no plan or warning of her ingenious plan. This is very similar to when she decided to come back and stab Sasuke when he fought Kakashi. Typical case of narcissism, thinking sheâs hot shit and can do everything herself even though Sasuke and Naruto (her much stronger teammates) saved her sorry ass. Naruto and Sasuke then help her and she doesnât even thank Naruto for saving her and only despairs over Sasuke not caring. Naruto barely reacted at all to her getting stabbed. Compare this to when Hinata got stabbed when he went bat shit crazy and almost transformed into the Nine Tails.
Hinata is put under the Infinite Tsukuyomi and mentally calls out for Naruto...
And Naruto hears her mental call! In his protective nature he almost ran out of the Susanoo, leaving Team 7 behind. He is only just stopped by Sasuke. Let me really talk about this here, not only could he hear her mental call, but he also had no hesitation to rush out to save her even though he would leave Team 7, his âfamilyâ behind. I mean hearing mental calls and seeing emotions through eyes, thatâs some next level shit honestly!
This sort of validate the idea that Naruto and Hinata are connected. Both Naruto and Hinata constantly use words the other has said (for example Hinata says his Ninja way and Naruto makes a refrence to being âselfishâ earlier in the war. There are so many parallels between them that i cant list them all here). They also understand each others hardships, how they are both âproud failuresâ who work hard to change themselves. They are kindred spirits. They both admire and respect each others will to never give up and thatâs also ironically why they both start falling for each other. We know how in Naruto people are connected through blood, for example with the summoning jutsu. Narutoâs blood vow to Hinata was him sealing that connection between them.
Inside the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Hinata dreams of being with Naruto, while Neji and Hanabi watch. Which, incidentally, also discards claims that she cared nothing for Neji because apparently her greatest dreams was being with Naruto and Neji being alive.
Interesting how they show Hinata in this panel as it could be viewed as an in direct reference to Narutoâs and Hinataâs relationship and past.
We see Naruto and Hinata standing very close to each other at Nejiâs funeral. It was implied that they actually got really close after the war. Hinata is also seen crying at Nejiâs funeral so that debunks stupid claims of her not âcaringâ. Honestly he was like a brother too her, of course she would care?! Whatâs wrong with people?
Besides i think that itâs very likely that the Last could have worked to be set shortly after the war. Both Naruto and Hinata have shown (atleast for me) that they both love each other and that they are ready for a relationship. But at the same time, Naruto, even though heâs matured a whole lot compared to the start of Part 2 is still oblivous to real romantic love, even though he has shown signs of it towards Hinata. That he thinks Hinata and Ramen are the same thing is actually somewhat believable since he confuses his love for her with his childhood comfort food that has brought him happiness. Itâs actually a very Naruto thing in my opinion.
So it still makes sense to be set 2 years after, the characters need to mature and be older sure, but it defiantly could have worked earlier.
Anyway that will be all for these analyses. It was a lot of fun to write these and hopefully you learned something new by reading them. Hopefully this brought some new light towards NH and also some depth as to why NS was always a crack ship.
Naruto and Hinataâs relationship is something that had always interested me since the start. Actually NH moments in Part 1 are my prefered subject and i wouldnât mind maybe doing analyses on them too. Thanks for reading!

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 12
During the fight with the Juubi, Hinata leaps in to save Naruto. However, Neji jumps in to save them both, and thus lays down his life for two of his most precious people. Obitoâs words coupled with Nejiâs death utterly break Naruto and heâs despairing. He was gonna join Obito and Madara if it werenât for a certain someone. (Iâd like to give attention to the fact that Hinata is crying, which is a far cry from ânot caringâ as some have attempted to claim).
*SMACK*
Hinata slaps Naruto and holds her hand on his cheek. They look each other straight in the eyes with tears. The look on Narutoâs face is complete shock but there is also a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
She reminds him of Nejiâs last words, that Narutoâs ideals and words were worth fighting for and what drove Neji out of darkness.
She talks about how everyone has come to share those values and principles, how theyâre all family now. She tells him how if he went back on them now, Nejiâs sacrifice would have been in vain.
(Naruto is slowly coming back to his senses).
If Naruto goes back on his word now, it would destroy all of his comrades since his power is crucial to win this war. She tells him to stand with her and reminds him that she shares his Ninja Way. If he went back on his word now everyone would have suffered the consequences and his principles and hard work would all go to waste, all that he and everyone else stands for. Naruto is internally thinking about Nejiâs words about Hinata, how sheâs willing to die for him. Kurama steps in to help too and Naruto is coming back to his senses.
Naruto compares her to his mom and dad and precious people who have sacrifed for him. People who he loves and has lost, people who share his ideals. Hinata is special to Naruto. He literally compares her to his parents and Jiraiya, and even Nagato and Itachi. People who have all gone to far lenghts to achieve something for the greater good even if they lose their lives.
He stands up and grabs her hand, he then thanks her and says that his life isnât his own anymore, because she has been by his side this whole time. Naruto acknowledges that without her he would have either become like Nagato or Obito or he wouldnât be standing there on the battlefield at all.
Without her bringing him out of despair during the Proud Failure Speech, without a strong motivation to defeat Neji (his blood vow to her and her speech was his motivation to win) he would have most likely been defeated/killed by Neji and thus would have never had his battle with Gaara where he showed his true power and devotion to the village.
If she hadnât jumped in on Pain, Naruto would have been captured and killed by the Bijuu Extraction. So in a darker way, Hinata saved him from despair once again.
Naruto is not only thanking her for bringing him out of despair now, but also for always being by his side and helping him in crucial moments. Naruto knows this. Naruto acknowledges that he wouldnât have come this far without her.
Also holding hands in Japan is something that only romantic couples should be doing and acquaintices or friends should not be interacted with in this way. Naruto and Hinata were basically an unoffical couple at this point.
Hinataâs comment on Narutoâs hand is something people love to twist. What it really means is that Naruto is back. No longer despairing, his life is back. His Yang. Naruto is saved.
Hand in hand with Hinata he explodes into power. His overflowing power and warmth makes her feel safe. Narutoâs energy and power is back and heâs ready fight once again, thanks to Hinata.
Even Uchiha f*cking Madara can see that the moment Naruto and Hinata shared had an intense romantic undertone since he literally called her Narutoâs wife. This should prove that it wasnât just âChAkRa TrAnSfErâ but an actual crucial moment for their romantic development for each other. Besides this wasnât the first time Naruto held her hand.
Some people say they arenât close yet he reaches for her hand when he checks on her. She was already special to him since the Chunin Exams. Naruto was also the one who initiated both of the hand holds. He wasnât forced to hold her hand yet he still did it because he wanted to (in the chunnin exams it was instinct, and that instinct was love).
Anyway that is all. Here are the other parts if wanna read them.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 11
While Neji is unconsious, Hinata takes his place to scout the area around them. Shino tells her to not overextend and she responds that the war is about protecting Naruto and that failure is not an option. She has an interesting flashback of Naruto. We see his flabbergasted reaction after seeing Hinata and he then puts out a big smile. Whatâs interesting about this flashback is that itâs most likely before Painâs invasion of Konoha because the building behind them seems to be intact.
Just before Hinata gets attacked by the Zetsu clones, Naruto comes out of nowhere and protects her. He apologizes to her for ârunning lateâ.
He reassure her that everythingâs alright now that he is here. He has a very proud smirk on his face. You can tell that he feels great about saving her.
Hinata apologizes for everyoneâs suspision of him and she then starts having doubts and starts feeling depressed, falling into an old self. She wants to protect Naruto so much, only to be protected instead. She begins to doubt. Naruto then does his deepest reading of emotions yet and senses her depression and comforts her by saying that she has saved him atleast twice now.
What were those two times she saved him? The Proud Failure Speech and Pain. Showing he remembers BOTH TIMES. The other times (as he says âatleastâ two times) could be referring to when she wanted to help him cheat in the exam and when she gave him some healing ointment. But still, this shows that he remembers both those times he thinks she saved him.
Which she did, if she hadnât done that Proud Failure peptalk he wouldnât have had the confident and motivation to fight Neji as he was scared out of his mind of fighting him. He most likely would have been killed as he was depressed beyond belief of fighting him and was really doubting himself. Thatâs why he told Hinata on the training grounds that his tough guy behaviour was an act and that he was in reality just really frustrated all the time. (Also foreshadowing their future relationship, being able to open up to her about something so personal).
And of course if she hadnât interfered against Pain, Naruto would have been taken by the Akatsuki and later been killed by the Bijuu extraction. (Also where was Sakura in all that? Since she knew he was being taken why didnât she do anything? It means she didnât care, Naruto deserves better than that).
Naruto reassures her that he can see her depressed feelings through her eyes and he then tells her that she is strong. Naruto doesnât even understand how romantic he makes himself sound (seeing emotions through eyes is defiantly something i would consider romantic. Also a paralell of Hinata being able to tell that he was the real Naruto by looking at his eyes). Everyone else seems to get the hint that Naruto likes Hinata and Neji even pairs them up as a couple later. Itâs often so that people around you can tell youâre true feelings for someone while you are completly blind to them. This is the case for Naruto anyway. He also has a flashback of Hinata jumping in on Pain. He knows who really saved him that day.
Hinata feels so confident after Narutoâs previous behaviour that she reveals that after the war ends sheâll be walking next to him, holding hands (which basically means she was gonna try to actually make a move on him. Since before that she didnât actually try to pursue a romantic relationship with him. Also a foreshadowing to an event that will happen soon). Lets analyze this for a moment. Kishimoto spending time to remind us of Naruto and Hinataâs moments, and also forge new ones, remind us of her drive. If anyone was doubting how it would end, this is the point you really should have stopped. Actually, likely should have many chapters ago.
Hinata asks if Narutoâs OK and he responds to her with a âHELL YEAHâ. Kiba comments on how he acts tough in front of Hinata. Remember that he saw what happened between them previously with the âin youâre eyesâ moment, so he now thinks that Naruto likes her. (Naruto hasnât realised himself though, his obvious feelings for her).
Naruto completly ignored everyone else when Hinata appeared. He only screams out her name. He is clearly very hypersensitive to her presence on the battlefield. Even though heâs acknowledged that sheâs strong, he is still very protective of her. Thatâs nothing new, we saw how he reacted to her getting stabbed by Pain and her fight with Neji in the chunnin exams.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 10
Sasuke has fallen into deep darkness and his hatred makes him stronger. He is not the same Sasuke Team 7 knew in Part 1. Sakura wants to kill Sasuke herself because she feels like the burden should be put on her shoulders, because she loves Sasuke. So she uses a sleeping gas on Lee, Kiba and Sai and tries to go kill Sasuke... and fails twice. The second time she had her knife right behind Sasukeâs back but she couldnât bring herself to stab him. She shouldnât even have been there the second time since Kakashi told her to heal Karin while he fought Sasuke. But she is so narcissistic and has to kill him herself which causes a lot of problems for Kakashi since he canât protect her all the time too.
Luckily for them Naruto saves her in the last second. His focus is not on her at all but on Sasuke as they make eye contact. It was expected of Naruto to save her since sheâs his teammate and friend, and itâs not romantic in the least, not after that fake confession. Besides Narutoâs focus isnât on her, itâs on Sasuke, just like it always has been.
Naruto doesnât even ask her if sheâs alright and he ignores her thanking him. His focus is only on Sasuke, the person he wants to save from becoming evil and he ignores Sakura since the more important person is in front of him.
(It feels like Kishi didnât care about Sakura at all in this arc, he was like âfuck it, might aswell make Sakura completly detestable.â First she makes that fake confession and we all know how that went, then she puts her teammates to sleep and then she fails to kill Sasuke twice while crying and sobbing and acting like a self-centered bitch, and then she still just gets saved. I mean itâs like really? He doesnât even try to make her likeable lol).
We skip forward to here, when Naruto was summoned by the Mount Myoboku Toads. They talk about all the times Naruto used Kyuubiâs chakra. He mentions that when Orochimaru taunted him about Sasuke, he willingly let the Kyuubi take control over him.
But when Pain stabbed Hinata, he was so mad and filled with hatred, that his heart automatically connected with the Kyuubiâs will.
This does not only confirm that he only transformed because of Hinata (since he literally just said it himself that Hinata getting stabbed caused him to transform) but it also confirms Narutoâs feelings for Hinata. Seeing her get attacked made him so angry that he transformed without even thinking.
Hinata has always triggered very strong reactions to Naruto. From the blood vow (he was so mad at Neji that he promised on Hinataâs blood that he would defeat him for her)
to then admiting to her that sheâs a person he really likes (when he actively tries his hardest to avoid showing people his true emotions)
And also thinking almost only on her when he tried to activate kyuubiâs chakra in his fight with Neji (which requires a large amount of heightend emotion to activate)
and then to almost completly transform into the Kyuubi just from seeing her get hurt.
Why is this you might ask? Well simple really, because Naruto has loved Hinata for years now, without REALIZING that he loved her. And even now he doesnât realise it yet. He loves her so much that seeing her get attacked drove him to that level of rage.
Itâs literally confirmed in the Manga that Naruto was in love with her BEFORE THE LAST.
Naruto later goes to that fountain where he will learn from Killer Bee how to control the Tailed Beast inside of him. There he must first confront his true self deep within his heart, which is Dark Naruto. Naruto mentions that itâs been him (his dark self) and the Kyuubi all along who caused him to transform. Dark Naruto tells Naruto that they hated the villagers for putting him through so much torture and pain and that they cant trust anyone but themselves. Deep down in Narutoâs heart there was a hatred towards the villagers.
So what does this mean regarding some previous interactions between Naruto and Sakura? First of all when Naruto transformed into the four-tail he didnât hesitate at all to attack her EVEN though he could avoid (even try to protect) hurting Hinata with MORE TAILS and a WEAKER SEAL.
Not only that but when Sakura mentioned she was just like the other villagers during her fake confession, Naruto got so angry that he later told her that he hated her.
The way she treated him in part 1 and in the academy (even in part 2 but not as much as back then) where she actively said that she hated him, physically abused him, degraded him and calls him stupid and an idiot all the time. She was literally representing the villagers hatred for Naruto.
Naruto also wants the villagers acknowledgment just like he wants Sakuraâs too. But we learn here that a big part, a dark part of him hated the villagers. And then we see just how similar Sakura is to the villagers and then it kinda hits you. Deep down inside, Naruto HATES Sakura.
Later when Naruto and the Kyuubi argue over if Sasuke can be saved or not, Naruto has a flashback of a time during the academy. Keep in mind that this is NARUTOâS flashback. âYouâve known it since that dayâ.
We see here that Naruto doesnât even know who Sasuke and Sakura are at this point. All the Sasuke fan girls including Sakura and Ino cheer loudly for Sasuke and this annoys Naruto. Sakura even screams out loudly âKICK HIS BUTT, SASUKE-KUN! HECK YEAHâ. Notice that all the other fan girls only cheer for Sasuke while Sakura has to scream out to Sasuke to âKICK HIS BUTTâ. Keep in mind that this is Narutoâs memory so he remembers Sakura being a huge bitch to him specifically. Itâs also shown right here that Naruto already had a rivalry towards Sasuke while for Sakura it was unknown (most likely that he doesnât know her).
Hinata was the only person to acknowledge him that day. And she did acknowledge him openly. Just quietly and not loudly. This is because of her crippling shyness and low self esteem thanks to her abusive clan. She was drowned out by all the other fan girls screming loudly for Sasuke.
But remember that this is Narutoâs flashback, which means that Naruto remembers on his own accord that Hinata was the very first person to acknowledge him. He heard her quietly but openly cheer for him even though she was drowned out by all the Sasuke fan girls. He was nowhere near her to actually hear it, yet he still remembers it since this is his own flashback. Since he remembers her cheering for him quietly yet openly, even though she was drowned out by the other Sasuke fan girls load screams, shows just how strong his feelings for her were. Even though it was deeply buried in his subconsiousness, he still remembered this.
Iruka wasnât actually the first person to acknowledge him that day, it wasnât till chapter 1 before he actually acknowledged him. Before that he thought of him as the Nine Tails that killed his parents. Iruka even punched his head in this flashback. Iâm just saying that he wasnât actually the first to acknowledge him atleast that he knew of.
Look at what Kurama said âREMEMBER NOWâ. This also confirms that this was Narutoâs flashback. That will be all for now, here are the other parts if youâre interested in reading them.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 9
*WARNING* if you like Sakura then you probably wont like this post. I wonât be holding back so if you like Sakura you have been warned.
Sakura confesses to Naruto that âsheâs in love with himâ. Naruto was shocked at first but he immediatly started to doubt her and his facial expression changed, turning into an annoyed frown. He asks her âwhyâ and âif itâs some kind of jokeâ. So his âcrushâ confessing her âloveâ to him is a joke to him. He doesnât even take his pointless âfeelingsâ seriously. Sakura points out all the âreasonsâ she âshould loveâ him instead, like Sasuke being a criminal and a traitor rouge ninja. Even when sheâs trying to lie and confess to Naruto she still has to bring Sasuke up, indirectly revealing that she still thinks of him and only him.
Sakura tells Naruto to stop chasing after âSasuke-Kunâ saying it like he only does it for that âstupid promiseâ to her. (Once again itâs like everything revolves around her, like Naruto doesnât have his own reasons for wanting to save Sasuke). Naruto reacts strongly to this since saving Sasuke was something he HAS to do. He thought Sakura thought so too since she loves Sasuke and seeing her say that he should stop makes him feel sligthly betrayed. Itâs funny how Yamato the supposed âNaruSaku shipperâ reacts like this to SAKURAâS CONFESSION and everyone else seems annoyed or somewhat angry aswell, then you know something is seriously wrong, you see this NOBODY LIKES THIS FANON SHIP.
Naruto then has a flashback of all the times Sakura cried/fangirled for Sasuke. She then starts to hug him and this is when things get a âlittleâ out of hand. She reveals that she âfinally sees him for who he really isâ. Thatâs a fucking insult more than anything. She indirectly revealed that before he became a hero she only saw him as a âstupid annoying idiotâ and then that heâs âalways supported herâ, for what? You forcing him to make that promise? By crying and begging for him to bring Sasuke back to YOU, even though he was gonna go get him back before you blessed him with youâre sobbing little *beutiful* (bitch) face. Before that he barely supported you, he couldnât care less than to think that youâre just some object in his rivalry and not an actual person. In chapter 57 when he saw her covered in blood and bruises he didnât even ask if she was alright or hurt. No, he ONLY asked about her f*cking hair even though she was COVERED IN BLOOD AND BRUISES. Also when she gave her reason about the hair (ignoring that he didnât notice (or care) about her bruises) it didnât look like he could give less shits at all. His âcrushâ was pointless, useless, nonexistent, shallow, superfical and dangerously stupid. Sasuke and Inoâs reaction in that chapter to this should sum up NaruSaku as a whole honestly.
She reveals that the reasons she âlovesâ him now is because heâs a hero and savior of the village, just like everyone else back home. She says sheâs one among many. What she doesnât realise is that Naruto had suffered immensily because of how the villagers treated him during his childhood. It was revealed that Naruto had a dark side who hated the villagers for putting him through all that pain and torture. That hatred didnât vanish either since he says that the two villagers who suddenly treated him like a hero and who wanted his autograph made him feel angry and resentful. Why should they treat him like this now when they treated him so horribly before? Thatâs what he thought. So hearing Sakura say sheâs âone among manyâ of the villagers, the same villagers who only saw him as an âannoying, idiot, monster bratâ and who only saw him as a hero after he had defeated Pain, defiantly built up his hate and anger in this moment. What he was gonna tell her soon only confirms this. She then states that heâs grown from a âprankster and a slackerâ into a âdependable manâ. I mean she doesnât even understand the deeper meaning as to why he was a prankster in the first place (and people think they are close?) and a slacker? This guy has trained harder than you ever had.
Sakura then goes on and on about how Sasuke (the person she actually loves and Naruto is more than aware of that) âbreaks her heartâ and âexists far away from herâ. She seriously picks the exact wrong things to say to him. To add insult to injury, she then continues with her bullshit and thatâs when Naruto snaps.
He pushes her back from him with anger and tells her while looking her straight in the eyes that her joke isnât funny and that she should stop f*cking lieing. (This is when she should have just revealed the truth).
Naruto ANGRILY grips her shoulders, stares her straight in the eyes, and tells her easily, directly and with no hesitation that he HATES her.
NaruSaku has been deader than a deer with CWD since October 29, 2009. All of it dead, all of it rotting in the ground. Think about it, Kishi went out of his way to make this chapter JUST to kill this ship cause he hates it that much. He made Sakura list all the reasons she âshould love himâ according to NS and made her look like a selfish, narcissistic bitch in the process. But that was something that was blatantly clear since part 1 and he wasnât holding back this time.
Even Sakura gets the impression that he hates her. If someone looked me in the eyes and gripped my shoulders angrily and told me that they âhated people who lie to themselvesâ iâd think they hate me too. But still, even after this she canât reveal the truth to him even though everyone knows sheâs lieing through her ass and that sheâs making herself look detestable. Naruto also asks her why she would come all the way out here âjust for thatâ. He seriously doesnât give a shit about Sakuraâs âfeelingsâ and this also states that he never cared much about his âcrushâ either. Also if Sakura really cared about Naruto she should have just revealed the truth to him instead of underestimating him and treating him like an idiot with a stupid crush. That she thinks she can manipulate him like this only proves that she doesnât respect him in the least. Also she already knows Hinata genuinely loves Naruto for who he is so why would she attempt to throw that away from them just because âshe has to be the one to break it up to him because she is the one who caused him the most painâ. So she decides to falsesly confess to him. And for what? So they are gonna live together with fake love? Iâll admit Sai did guilt trip her but she came up with this decisision herself. Talk about self centered.
Sakura indirectly reveals the real reason she came out there. I think what Naruto is more hurt about in all this is that she doesnât treat him with honesty and decides to lie to him instead. Sakura also seems a little offended that Naruto didnât believe her and that he actually talked back for once.
Naruto says that he knows how Sakura really is and that sheâs just straining to make excuses. He knows she would never in a million years confess her âloveâ to him and he doesnât care about that either. Sakura states that Naruto doesnât need to keep his promise to her. If she really understood Naruto she wouldnât think that heâs chasing Sasuke like this because of some promise that is centered around her. But for his own personal reasons. He reveals that it never was about any promises and that he also understands Sasuke now and why heâs so obssesed with revenge. Why is this? Maybe because witnessing Hinata getting stabbed by Pain triggered the worst emotions he ever felt and made him almost transform into the Kyuubi. It made him understand what vengeance and revenge truly feels like.
Before he could reveal the truth about Itachi (switching the topic like it wasnât worth less than the shit on his shoe) he was stopped by Kakashi since they donât know if the info is reliable enough to reveal. Naruto then tells her that even if he never made that promise to her it wouldnât change a thing.
Because he wants to save Sasuke himself. So he goes back on his word for the first time, something he always takes very seriously because itâs his ninja way, just to break his promise to her and rid himself of that burden. Even after all this Sakura looks more mad at Naruto than herself and when Kiba basically tries to save the last dignity she has she just stomps him on the f*cking foot and leaves without telling the truth. Possibly leaving Naruto with even more pain (also on Kibaâs foot) that she so âwanted to get rid offâ. And Naruto is more angry than hurt over all this. He really doesnât give a shit about her or her âfeelingsâ.
Also no, Sakura would never ever genuinely love Naruto not after how often she punches him, degrades him, calls him âan idiot/a fool/stupidâ. Her unneeded physical and verbal violence, narcissism, self centered and selfish behaviours prove that at the end of the day, she always and only thinks about herself.
But yeah in conclusion, this was the death of NaruSaku. Itâs completly illogical to believe that Naruto still had a âcrushâ on her after this. I believe that it was at chapter 172 where he gave up on his âcrushâ. All of this here is only the icying on the cake, or rather a beating on a dead corpse. Seriously Kishi absolutely destroyed NaruSaku here and thereâs really no turning back after this. Youâre in denial if you believe it could have still happen. Actually just from reading chapter 1 (where we learn about Narutoâs past and why he is the way he is) and chapter 3 (where we see just how badly Sakura treats him) should be enough for anyone without shipping googles to realise that NS is NOT gonna happen. Anyway that is all, hereâs the other parts.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 8
Naruto is seen returning to the village after his talk with Nagato. Naruto is exhausted and was about to fall over, but Kakashi catches him (letâs all appreciate that the first thing he did after coming back to life was to go look for his student). He pressed his cheeks and wrapped his arms around Kakashi. Also Kakashi is making a reference to when he carried Naruto on his back after their battle on the Valley of the End.
Naruto returns to the village and the first thing he sees is all the villagers cheering for him. He has become a hero and saviour of the village and everyone acknowledges him as a hero. Naruto had achieved his dream of wanting everyone to acknowledge him (Thereâs a deeper meaning to why he even wants everyone to acknowledge him in the first place and it has to do with his past).
Naruto is very suprised, he is not used to being treated this way by everyone after all. Notice how us as viewers are more happy than Naruto himself (not that he isnât happy of course) Iâll get more into why when we come to the Dark Naruto part.
*Sakura rant* Why is the first thing Sakura does after Naruto saved her village is to punch him in the fucking head?! Jesus Christ itâs like Kishi WANTS her to be hated. Look at Narutoâs face in the bottom right picture, itâs like he thinks âWhat the hell have i done now?!â. Sakura then hugs him because sheâs grateful that Naruto saved the village (way to show youâre gratefulness earlier you lousy bitch).*Sakura rant over*
Notice how Hinata smiles here. She doesnât feel threatened at all by their supposed âromantic relationshipâ but she rather sees them as a brother and sister type relationship (like most people). Actually their relationship is almost like Harry and Hermione. Both scolding and caring for each other as good FRIENDS. Also notice how Naruto didnât hug her back after a physically, mentally and emotionally draining battle while he pressed his cheeks and put his arms tightly around Kakashi. Why is this? Well maybe itâs because they arenât so close after all.
Naruto doesnât notice when Sakura is sad over her masterâs near verge of death. He knows how it feels like to lose his master but he cant notice her feelings of inadequancy and her sadness? He couldnât notice when she was depressed over her inferiority complex when drafting for the Chunnin Exams either (to much in his own fantasy world of being acknowledged and beating Sasuke lol) he only noticed when it concerned Sasuke. Imaging only noticing when someones depressed because of another person youâre both obssesed over.
When Hinata was sad he comforted her by saying she saved him more than twice and that she was strong. He also noticed her sadness through her eyes.
Notice how when Tazuna asked if there was a love triangle going on, Naruto happily denied it (confirming that there never really was anything serious going on and also that he didnât have any âromantic feelingsâ at all at this point, since he seemed so carefree about it) Naruto was maturing and just acting like a good friend here and Sakura was thankful for that. (They were honestly acting just fine here so why did Sakura decide to make that fake confession later? She underestimates Naruto).
Naruto now reveals he knows what revenge truly feels like. After his fight with Pain he now understands why Sasuke was so obssesed with revenge. Why is this? Maybe because witnessing Hinata getting stabbed triggered the worst emotions heâd ever felt and he almost transformed into the Nine Tailed Demon Fox because he hated Pain and wanted revenge on him. Tell me how Hinata didnât contribute to the main story when she was a reason why Naruto could understand Sasuke in the first place.
A topic that must be touched upon now unfortunately is:
Why didnât Naruto talk to Hinata after the Pain arc? Well in universe, we have to consider that Naruto has never in his life experienced real romantic love before. Itâs something thatâs completly foreign to him. Sometimes when affection is directed towards yourself, it is hard to realise what it really means. Mentally abused people like Naruto is no exception, someone that never experienced parental love, how are we supposed to expect that he would understand romantic love aswell? Something that is way more complex than that too.
Also letâs be real here considering what iâve just said how would Naruto be able to recognize what Hinata really meant when he was pinned downed by rods, about to be taken and his greatest enemy being right in front of him in a destroyed Konoha crater. It all probably happend in a blink of an eye and before he knew it he was already transformed into the six-tails. The tension was really high and Naruto was already in emotional turmoil and despair, there were simply too much happening at the same time for him to comprehend it all.
Later everyone acknowledged him as a Hero and suddenly everyone was paying him attention and he became very busy aswell. Pressing matters in the shinobi world were happening immediatly after his return, like Sasuke being ordered to be disposed of. Other responsibilities were being placed on him so in context he really didnât have time to think about what her confession really meant and what it made him feel, he not only didnât have any help from others to understand it but other things were happening so quickly too.
Also the reason Kishi didnât show Naruto thanking Hinata was because Kishimoto felt awkward about writing romance. Heâd rather wait till later and make it more indirect than write actual lovey dovey stuff, and i dont blame him completely. Its a fighting manga after all, and not a romance (altough i wouldnât say heâs bad with romance as he understands the context) He probably didnât plan to explain when or how they got together at this point in time, he was just gonna do it, as that was what he always wanted since part 1. Had Naruto accepted her feelings right there and then it would have moved away from the main topic of the story, which is saving Sasuke.
His actions later in chapter 559, 615 and 677 makes his answer to her confession an indirect YES. He was already in love with Hinata subconsiously. You might believe that it happend after this arc but it was actually implied in Narutoâs theme song from The Last. âHe now understood the meaning of that warmthâ and âher overflowing kindnessâ. Judging by this Naruto could have loved her as early as chapter 77 when he told her from the direct translation: âThank you, youâre far too kind Hinata!â. It was probably because of her kindness but also the origin of how Hinata fell for Naruto was out of admiration and respect, the same reasons Naruto started feeling something for her too in the Chunnin Exams.
Sai falsely states that Naruto is going this far to save Sasuke because of unrequited feelings for Sakura and because of that promise (that he admits he didnât know anything about, also when Sai asked Naruto about how he felt about her he said âhow can i? Cant even keep my promises.â Seems to me that he was more depressed over not getting Sasuke back and the only reason he havenât given up on Sakura completly is because he wants to keep his word because thatâs his ninja way. He actually let his âcrushâ go after that hospital hug where he saw Sasukeâs tender face and accepted that Sakura loved Sasuke. He realised subconsiously that what he was feeling before was a pointless childish crush.)
Sai accuses Sakura of causing Naruto alot of pain too because of that promise, and thatâs true. Promise of a life time more like Burden of a life time. Anyways Sakura cries because of guilt and decides that the only way to make Naruto stop chasing after Sasuke is to falsely confess to him like the narcissistic *nice lady* that she is. Next time iâll be going over the fake confession. Hereâs the other parts if you wanna check them out.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 7
Naruto has transformed into the Six-Tails with the worst emotions he ever felt after witnessing Hinata getting stabbed by Pain. The seal reactivates as he grumbles in anger and is seen looking at Hinata before doing his next move. (Hinata is the ONLY reason he even transformed in the first place, as he didnât transform when the old frog died in front of his eyes or when he heard that Kakashi died. This is also confirmed in chapter 490).
He takes the seal in his fist and crushes it before he goes to attack Pain. But notice how he isnât charging right at him, but he moves to the side instead.
He circled away from her body so that she wouldnât be caught in the attack.
He then looks at her (more clearly now) and is seen getting more enraged and then fires a tailed beast bomb at Pain.
He outright bitch-slapped Sakura when he was only in four tailed mode and with a stronger seal, but here we can see load and clear that Naruto deliberately didnât attack Hinataâs body, he actually tries to protect her and is also seen getting vividly more angry as he looks at her body. BUT HE HAD SIX TAILS AND NO SEAL AT ALL. Its true love, no one has ever given him this amount of control when transformed let alone six f*cking tails of it. And this brings me to another topic.
This is Narutoâs reaction to seeing Sakura being in danger of death. âWhat are we supposed to do?â. If Naruto âlovedâ her he wouldnât hesitate and say what are âweâ supposed to do, if he âlovedâ her he would have activated kyuubiâs chakra out off pure anger and had no hesitation in attacking Gaara. But thatâs not the case at all. His fear of Gaara is clearly superior over his concern for Sakura. When Gaara threatened to crush Sakura he hesitated and then screamed âDAMMITâ before attacking Gaara and then being pathetically defeated.
It was SASUKE who had to TELL HIM to rescue her and then do his speech about his precious comrades before he finally decided to fight for real. So another person had to tell him to rescue someone he âlovedâ because he was to much of a coward to do it himself. If Sasuke hadnât been there Naruto would have either ran away abandoning Sakura or he would have been killed along with Sakura. If this doesnât prove that Naruto only had a pointless, shallow âcrushâ on her i dont know what does.
This right here proves that Naruto wouldnât transform for Sakura, also if he did care about her as much as the NaruSakuâs like to say then why didnât he activate kyuubiâs chakra like he did when Sasuke was in great danger on the Great Naruto Bridge? He was more angry towards Neji after his provocations since he immediatly charged at him when it concerned Hinata, but here he hesitated and forced himself to attack Gaara. He had a certain protective instinct when it concerned Hinata (which is also confirmed as stated above with the six-tails) but he had absolutely zero instincts at all for Sakura. Also which stabbing made him react with SIX-TAILS and with the worst emotions he ever felt, and which made him barely react at all? The point of this is to debunk claims that Naruto would transform for Sakura.
This panel here also confirms that Naruto only transformed because of Hinata. Shikamaru also says âthat triggered it, huhâ. He didnât seem too suprised, makes you wonder if he saw something going on between them of panel perhaps?
Naruto doesnât know what to do anymore. He doesnât know anything, he doesnât have an answer for anything. He wants an answer on how to face all this hate. The Nine Tailed Demon Fox tells him to destroy everything that causes him suffering. Naruto was about to go on a rampage and destroy everything that made him suffer, well except Hinata who he could avoid hurting even when possesed by a demon full of hate.
Naruto had transformed into eight tails. He almost completly resembeled the Kyuubi now, only missing the fur. Naruto is seen walking towards the seal. Naruto had reached such a level of HATRED that he willingly lets himself go. He hates Pain so much that heâs willing to destroy himself just to kill Pain. Remember how the Uchiha clan are said to be driven by love and how that turns into hate and gives them more power. Pain has just talked about how love leads to hate and suffering. Hinata declared her love to Naruto, and seeing her get stabbed made him sync up with the Nine Tailed Demon Fox, a being filled with immense hatred. Is there really any doubt that he loved her? Just as Hinata was ready to sacrifice herself out of love, Naruto was willing to sacrife himself too.
Because of how the seal is designed, Naruto is rescued from the Fox by his Father and he returns to normal after their talk. Naruto is informed by Katsuyu that he had caused all the destruction around them after he had transformed. Narutoâs first thought and worry is about Hinata (reminding us why he even transformed like that in the first place). He clutches his shirt near his heart while saying âdid i destroy Hinata or any of the other villagersâ. Hinata is the only one he lists by name and everyone else is just the âvillagersâ. When he finds out that sheâs alive he clutches his shirt tighter around his heart. He clearly cares about her a whole lot. I wonder if Naruto would have turned evil if she turned out to be dead. Considering that he was about to transform into a walking ball of hatred after her âdeathâ it wouldnât seem to far fetched would it?
Naruto cries tears of relief and thanks God that sheâs alive and that she wasnât hurt in the rampage. Naruto clutching his shirt near the area of his heart shows that she had a special place in his heart. Hinata is also seen simultaneously thinking about him too and also thanking God that heâs alright. Nice pararell Kishi.
That will be all for now, here are the other parts if you wanna read them.

Its also mentioned in some novel that Naruto and Hinata were very close throughout the blank period until The Last to the point that other characters notice. Its not because something is not shown in every detail that never happened its just something open to the reader's imagination that can willingly conclude the obvious. There are many things in Naruto that were implied. Even friendships that yields a lot of fanart, but only with NaruHina is there this unwillingness to understand.
Yeah, itâs like if itâs not seen on screen then it never happend kinda mindset people have. Like after Naruto and Sasuke fought in part 1. It was implied that atleast 2 months have passed or something like that. Do they think that Naruto didnât do anything during that time? Itâs very likely that he went on some of panel missions with other teams, kind off like in the part 1 fillers. Thatâs why i donât think there even that bad, since its essentially just adds more of what people want to see that could be lacking in the main story (like NH to some people). Yet they still complain even if they have what they want right there in the fillers, but wait itâs filler so its automatically trash. Itâs just funny to me.

As much as I love NaruHina the one thing that really bother meďżźďżźďżź is why didnât Naruto talk to Hinata when she risk her own life from pain, Naruto could at least thank her or something. But itâs he completely forgets about witch really bothers me.
Well you could say that its because Kishimoto feels awkward about writing romance. But also Naruto isnât a romance, its a fighting manga. If Naruto had accepted her feelings right there and then it would of moved away from the main topic of the story, which is saving Sasuke. Also you have to take into consideration that Naruto has never in his life experienced real romantic love before. He was abused his whole childhood and he doesnât have anyone to tell him about these things. (Naruto isnât the smartest person either).
But his actions in chapter 559 (where he had a flashback of Hinata jumping in on Pain, so he does remember), 615 and 677 would indirectly make his answer to her confession a YES. The Last could have been set 2 MONTHS after the war. Instead of 2 years after the war and it would have been just as expected. But it all really came down to Kishi not knowing how deal with the situation until later.

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 6
Naruto comes back to the village after his Sage Training. He finds out that Pain has been looking for him and he has destroyed the village. Naruto is furious over what he has done and prepares to fight him, as he is the only one strong enough (with the help of Sage Mode). He has surpassed his previous generations, and is ready for his toughest battle yet. (Iâll wont be going over the battle as thatâs not within the topic but i must say that itâs pretty frickin awesome).
As strong as he has become though, Pain is still too much for him and he is eventually defeated and pinned down by Pain. Naruto doesnât have an answer to Painâs question of how to achieve world peace. Naruto was losing hope, he was defeated and pinned down. He was about to give up and let Pain take him. Despair and hopelessness hits him as he didnât have a better answer to Painâs way of achieving peace. He had no hope of anyone going to save him, he had told them to not interfare in the battle. He was just about to be taken, but then......
Hinata jumps in attempting to save him. Naruto is in shock, he knows Pain is to much for anyone in the village to handle. Hinata declares that she wont let him lay another finger on Naruto. She had to hide behind a pole to talk to him in part 1 yet still managed to show that she understood him and bring him out of despair. But now she declares to the strongest enemy we have seen so far to not lay a finger on Naruto. She knows Pain is too strong for her, so she essentially prepares her final words to Naruto. Her statement about being selfish should NOT be taking literally, since itâs basically the most selfless act someone could do. What it really means is that she isnât gonna run away anymore and let things remain hopeless, that during this moment she has become what she always wanted to be. Brave and strong and to never give up even if she keeps failing and things seems pointless and despairing. Thatâs why sheâs not afraid to die, because she loves Naruto, but deeper than that, because at this moment she become what she always wanted to be.
Hinata starts her speech. Notice how Kishimoto zoomed in on Narutoâs eyes. Especially during the line âi wanted to be with youâ. Narutoâs eyes were shining and wide eyed. He treasured those words. Her speech touched him deeply, his reaction soon confirms this. Even Pain was paying attention (he knew some serious shit was going on).
Naruto is speechless. No one has ever said anything like this to him before. His whole life has been filled with nothing but hate and discrimination towards him. His whole life people have said âdont go near himâ âyou monster get away from meâ âi hate you, go dieâ. He was completly mesmerised even though he didnât completly understand it. But deep down in his heart he did, and a reason why his amazement turned into complete and blind rage. Before i continue i just want to point something out here.
(Ignore the watermark lol)
Who were the ONLY ones that knew Naruto couldnât fight Pain alone? His future MENTOR and his future WIFE. Just an interesting detail.
Hinata goes in to attack Pain. She reveals her own jutsu the Juho Soshiken. Pain uses a powerful Shinra Tensei and knocks her to the ground. Naruto witnessing all this screams out to Pain to stop just after he takes out his rod. Narutoâs despair is turning into rage. He wants to protect her so much, but he cant. He has ever since the chunnin exams during her fight with Neji. (Just an interesting detail that many people miss. The Juho Soshiken can shut down the opponents whole chakra network. This means that they cant use any ninjutsu if they get hit by hit. Pain could have just stabbed her like Madara easily did to Sakura, but he decided to use a powerful jutsu that has a drawback. This means that he felt threatened enough by her jutsu to use one of his most powerful jutsus. Pain actually felt more threatened by Hinata than Madara felt thretened by Sakura)
Pain compares Hinataâs death to how his loved ones were killed right before his eyes. His line âLove breeds sacrifice, which breeds hatredâ is actually referring to Hinatas love for Naruto and Narutoâs love for her. Hinataâs sacrife (love) and Narutoâs hatred (love). Pain assumed that Hinata was the girl he loved and that his rage and hatred is responding to it. (He is right, he loved her subconsiously probably for years now, Pain is also a NaruHina shipper confirmed lol).
This was Narutoâs reaction to her death/stabbing.
Worst emotions heâd ever felt.
Written by Kishimoto himself. This is actually incredible when you consider what Naruto must have been through during his whole childhood.
I want to discuss something interesting here. To even achieve such a level of kyuubi rage, an incredible amount of negative emotions must be achieved which should not be underestimated. This is actually not the first time Naruto has triggered the kyuubi for Hinata (obviously not to this degree). During Nejiâs mental attack on Hinata, Naruto was so enraged and angry that he was shaking and the kyuubiâs lips were displaying. He completly understood her situation as he also wanted to change himself. But seeing such a nice girl like Hinata (who at this point wanted to help him cheat to pass the test and gave him some healing ointment) being treated this way triggered a part of the kyuubi while he was trying to control his anger.
The second time was during his fight with Neji. While he was trying to summon kyuubiâs chakra he thought of Hinata (probably unknowingly) and his promise to her, and wishing for her to be watching him. My point is that Kishi had already established in part 1 that Hinata triggers very strong emotions to Naruto.
Also look at this cover for the Naruto Manga Volume 9:
Six scrolls and six tails. Was Kishimoto foreshadowing this moment? Or is it just a coincidence? Regardless really interesting stuff. Anyways that is all for now, here are the previous parts.
