A note on suppliers and patterns...
So a few people have asked about patterns and where I got stuff from. The waistcoat was based on a Burda pattern - 2767 to be precise. The gun harness I got from the Sportsman's Guide website. It should be found here - http://m.sportsmansguide.com/Product.aspx?a=691317 Hope this helps!

Panic Stations are GO!
Ok, so it's been a while... So what have I been up to with this whole costume thing? It's been chugging along nicely, however there have been a few minor setbacks.
What kind of setbacks? Mainly the most important kind - MONEY!
Oh, and also you North American scum on eBay/Amazon won't even send me a damned water-pistol version of a Mauser Broomhandle, so the resin casting has been cancelled.
So, the good parts...
- Update on the waistcoat... The previous dyeing session wasn't to my satisfaction, so the small bolt of fabric I bought went to the big dressmaker in the sky. I decided to go with the army-green version with gold piping rather than have a semi-dyed version that would just annoy me. This is coming along very well and should be finished next week with my seamstress extraordinaire.
- The pinstripe trousers... Managed to get a verra naice pair for $40 from Lowes (semi-budget menswear store in Aus) yesterday. Black with a nice bold pinstripe - just what the doctor ordered.
- The holster... Oh dear god... This is where the title of the post is coming from. I ordered this on June 5th and apparently this has been posted. This is the source of my anxiety at the moment, because if it doesn't get delivered before Supanova, I will literally scream and figuratively cut a bitch. This is one of the central parts of the costume. Grrrr...
This week I'll be hand sewing (well, machine sewing by hand) a collar and set of cuffs to add to a nice black shirt I've got, plus getting the necktie in order.
Also, the haircut and contact lenses will be happening next week.
I'm so freaking excited/panic-y that I might be sick.

Hehehe... I've also got someone making mine, but I'm helping every Monday whilst it happens. We're making alterations to a Burda pattern (I'll find out which one) to incorporate the double-breastedness and the satin lapels. Will be getting an embroidery place to do the fancy needlework on them. Ain't nobody got time for that...
