by the way if youre ever scared to go to a cafe and you dont know what the drinks are

a hot latte is espresso shots, steamed milk, foam top

an iced latte is shots, cold milk and ice. no foam

a cappuccino is shots, steamed milk, a lotta foam

cappuccinos usually arent iced, but they could make it iced by using cold foam in some places (not most)

americano hot is shots and hot water

americano iced is shots, ice and cold water

a mocha is just a latte with mocha syrup and usually whip cream

and a white mocha is the same, just with white mocha

for all the espresso drinks, you can usually ask them to add syrups to make it sweeter - or they will even have pre built drinks on their menu, like a vanilla latte. some places are less flexible than others - but it never hurts to ask!

if you want regular coffee with cold milk just say that

but if you want the milk steamed, its a cafe au lait

if you want something frozen and blended, most places have some version of this - they could be frappes, frozen ______, or ive even seen “chillers” - these are great if you want something like the texture of a milkshake :-)

chai and matcha are built similar to an espresso latte, its the tea with milk (can usually be done hot or iced). chai is spicy and sometimes sweet and matcha is a more refreshing herbal flavor

Every time I see that G--gle phone photoshop commercial my heart is filled with infinite sadness, like, yeah it's cool you can have a good family photo, it's cool you can do that, but god, there is something to be said for the honestly of a family photo where you're blinking, or crying, or have ugly wrinkles.

What is too unsightly for you? Would you swipe-click-replace out the image of my cousin crying on our Florida trip family reunion photo? Would you remove the plastic snake I have clenched in my grip, which I still have to this day? Would you scoff at the wrinkles around our eyes and the strands of hair on our faces as we squint into the wind, the day before the massive storm? Would I remember it if I didn't have these reminders, if the picture was perfect and clean, all children in a row with perfect gleaming white tombstone tooth smiles? No tears. No plastic snake.

Everyone is beautiful and no one looks genuine.

🌿 Hello! Like I said, this will mostly be a blog for either posting about poetry or different sorts of rants/vents. I dont actually expect anyone to really look through this, but it's nice to have an outlet

🌱I go by any pronouns, and I also happen to be otherkin (robotkin specifically) and objectum :) I wouldn't usually have a reason to say that here, but I may rant about it/share poetry relating to it

🌿this is a side blog, but I won't be sharing my main blog just for the reason that I want this to be kind of unknown. In fact, I don't expect much of anyone to see this blog, which is comforting
