And why would that be? Everyone has their own way of looking at things. For us, well, nobody really remembers why pumpkins came to mean what they do-- maybe it has something to do with the fact that, well. They're not the prettiest of vegetables! 

Imagine how embarrassing it would have been to get one after asking your sweetheart to marry you. Though you definitely seem too young for such ideas--

Ahaha, so, this week has been very, very special. 

Yesterday was Flag Day, and today, is Independence Day! Happy birthday or whatever this qualifies as to me. I will probably treat myself to a new dress or something later on-- as immodest as this may sound, I have been terribly stressed this year, and I feel I deserve it. 

But, nevertheless, my people are known for their ability to pull through hard times, and today is a day to celebrate! Skies of blue, fields of gold, this land is my heart and soul, literally and metaphorically.
