That Tzadik recording of Partch’s Li Po (aka Li Bai) poems, always awesome.
The Knife, Shaking the Habitual, forgot how great this was.

“Spotlight” by Marshmello x Lil Peep. I must say I have not explored the oeuvres of either of these artists, although I know some of my students are into Marshmello.

Bach BWV 79, Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild. Preparing to hear this live later this morning as part of Emmanuel Music’s cantata series: http://www.emmanuelmusic.org/calendar_tickets/17-18season/caltix17-18_cantatas.html. Maybe I’m lazy, but I always just go to the John Eliot Gardiner recordings.

More Jay Chou, Opus 12 十二新作 (the one where he bleached his hair and rides a unicorn). Bought this on my last trip to China, only now unwrapped it and giving it a listen. Better than the previous album, 惊叹号. Looks he’s got 2 more out since then, prolific fellow.

More Mahler 3 and Papa Wemba.
Listening to Papa Wemba’s Somo Trop compilation, which I have on CD and prefer to the other compilation I was listening to on Spotify the other day. Pretty sure I picked up this CD at the Nakumatt Junction Mall in Nairobi a few years back. “Authenticity” is such a tricky concept, but I’ve always felt that one of the reasons I enjoy this compilation is that it doesn’t seem curated for American “world music” tastes.
