A few days ago I asked my professor what exactly did he mean by telling us that we can "do a presentation for one of the classes and get bonus points". He told me that it could be on some event, some personal story, a phenomenon that we have noticed and yadda yadda. I told him that I might have an idea in mind. He then proceeded to once again list all of the possible "concepts" that could be used for that presentation, however this time he added one onto the list. He said "[...] it could even be about an interest, a hobby of yours."

This would've been a completely normal experience if it wasn't for the fact that he looked directly at me with a wide smile and added "And I know that you have a very interesting hobby, miss! I remember from our class last semester!"

Normally I'd be happy that someone listened to my rambling, but the situation that he was referring to was that one time when I prepared a report on deviance based on the story of Al Capone and Eliott Ness and then proceeded to talk about it for over 15 minutes. THIS is what he meant by "an interesting hobby". This man looked me straight in the eyes and told me that he remembers my lil' rant about mafia and alcohol. Like, I'm kinda happy about this, it's nice that he remembered something like this out of all the reports that he watched last semester, but at the same time I was standing there, in front of him, with a dumb smile on my face as I came to the conclusion that, sadly, my actions have consequences. 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️
