The meeting went by, Bea mostly taking everything in. She didn't offer an opinion on the recently finished book nor did she care what the next book was. In fact, she wasn't sure that she'd be able to make her return to book club. When the meeting of the book club ended, Bea talked to a few people that welcomed her personally to the group before she spotted Camila heading towards. Beatriz quickly excused herself and rushed toward the door. "Cami, wait." She didn't know if the other would or what wrath she would face, but the words were already out of her mouth as she exited the Clairmont house. @camilaquintanalopez

If Cami had any say in this, they would not be "having her". She definitely didn't have the space in her house to host the book club, nor did she have any say in who became a member but she wished she did. She didn't want to seem like an asshole by asking for Beatriz to not be allowed back anymore, but the whole time, she had a hard time focusing on the discussion, which was sad because she loved the book, and she wondered if she should quit the book club instead. But she could not let her win, not again.

As soon as the next book was chosen and the meeting was ending, Camila stood up. Usually, she hangs around a little bit, talking to people, but today, she needed out. She packed her book, said a few words to some of the members and headed for the door.

Beatriz eye's are forced upward as he placed his hand against the wall as he reached her. For a moment, her guard went down, at least until Chase opened his mouth again. "I don't have a constant stick up my ass," she sneered, not breaking eye contact, "and I'm perfectly capable of having a good time." Beatriz didn't look like she could have a good time, all the time, but Chase merely knew how to get under her skin. As his other hand reached for her, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, she softened her gaze. "You're right," she immediately cooed, though she were not at all swayed by him. Okay, maybe a little. "And what do you have in mind?" Her head tipped to the side, as if she were genuinely curious in what he had to say. @chasevaughn

Chase shrugs. "You'd like it too and we both know it." He reaches her, placing his hand on the wall next to her as his eyes focus on her. "I don't know why you have to be such a hater, Souza. No one likes anyone who has a constant stick up their ass and can't seem to have a good time because they refuse to think someone is capable of being a decent person." He lifts up his other hand, tucking a strand behind her ear. "You don't have to keep fighting with me."

"Yeah," she smiled at the other, "I mean, you didn't, so there's really no way you would have known," she laughed softly as she spoke. "Oh wow," Beatriz was impressed by all the connections that Courtney seemed to have acquired in Kismet Harbor, "the non profit health center I was working for lost it's funding so I had a clean slate, so to speak. My lease was ending at my apartment and just seemed like the natural thing to do." @courtneyxblake

"Oh," Courtney said with a small laugh, as she didn't know Bea had actually grown up in town. "I didn't realize that!" She said with a small smile now, and then a nod of her head. "I bet, things change and that can happen in a blink of an eye." She said as she the took a sip of her coffee. Taking a deep breath, before answering, there were a few things at play with why she had moved to Kismet. "Initially it was the prospect of being able to move into a place with a job set up," she explained, "my mom's college roommate owned a trailer down in Horizon Park. And my husband and I moved in there. But then also my aunt and cousins moved here as well as two of my brother in laws." She shook her head, knowing how it all sounded. "It's a bit of a crazy web of stories," she chuckled before then asking, "what brought you back?" @beatrizxsouza

"Seems we've managed to miss each other," she teased, "What made you decide to go into the Navy?" Beatriz was someone that had never had the urge to join any branch of military - always curious to what drove people to doing so. "Oh," she smiled at him from across the table, "I don't mind," she shook her head, "The non profit clinic I was working at closed down in April, actually." She sighed with the remembrance, "A shame, but the funding wasn't there and it kind of gave me an opening to come back home." @eddiexcastro

"You're welcome." He said with a smile as he sat down himself. "You did?" He started racking his brain to see if he remembered her at all. "I actually grew up here too. After graduation, I went into the Navy then after was in New Mexico for a little bit then came back home. It's been just over a year since I came back to town." He explained as he looked at the menu. "What brought you back? If you don't mind me asking." @beatrizxsouza

Bea scoffed with his words, "You might like that too much and we certainly can't have that," she retorted back quickly to Chase. As Chase pushed himself up from the couch, she flared her nostrils with his approach. "Is that what you think of yourself?" Beatriz let out a shortened laugh, "I always forget what a comedian you are." @chasevaughn

Chase smirks, his gaze resting on her. "Why don't you come make me, Bea?" He leans his arms on the back of the couch, his gaze resting on her. He didn't know how she did it but she always seemed to get under his skin when they were in the same room together. He pushes up off the couch and walks around it, heading over to her. He leans against the wall next to her, shaking his head at her words. "How could I ever get tired of being fucking awesome, Souza?"

Beatriz was surprised that the man pulled out the chair for her, "Thank you," it was a gentleman like thing to do and well, Beatriz was in desperate need of gentleman like behavior in her life. Considering her past, this was a nice upgrade. "I actually grew up here," she told the other, "left for college and was living in New York City up until a few weeks ago," she told him with a smile, picking up the menu all the same. "And you?" @eddiexcastro

He smiled as they shook hands. "It's nice to meet you as well." He told her and nodded. "Yeah. Definitely should." He walked over to the host desk and gave them his name. Luckily, it was ready and they were escorted to the table. "Here, allow me." He said and pulled out a chair for her to sit at; pushing it in once she was settled and he then sat down across from her. "So, have you been in Kismet long?" He asked curiously as he picked up the menu. @beatrizxsouza

When Camila spoke, Beatriz held her breath. Would the other out her in front of the book club? Truthfully, Beatriz wouldn't blame her if she did. She would absolutely deserve the public humiliation. "Oh, okay," she gave a small smile, adjusting in her seat as she was put on the spot. "I'm Beatriz, or Bea," she started off introducing herself to the rest of the members, "I grew up here, but it's been a long time since I've been back so I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone here," she trailed off, "so, thank you for having me." Bea ended, ducking her gaze once more so that she didn't have to look at Camila. @camilaquintanalopez

Between Gavin making a quick visit over Christmas to remind everyone what a shitty person he was, Francisco being difficult and bordering on insulting, she'd been too naive to think she'd stay free of Beatriz for long. She'd tried her best not to think about her too much. The pain of losing her had been and still is too difficult to bear. So seeing her, now, in a place she loved, was harsh. She came here to have fun, talk about books and socialize a bit, and now she was as tense as she could be. As people started talking, Camila did her best to unclench her jaw and forced a smile. "Maybe the new member could introduce herself. I don't think I've seen you around," she said. She hadn't. And Beatriz had stopped being someone she knew the moment she confessed.

"I mean, I grew up here," Bea laughed softly, "It's just been a long time since I've been back so a lot of things have changed." Namely, her best friend was no longer her best friend. Beatriz had no one to blame but herself in that regard, of course. She was the one that had fallen into the comforting word's that landed her in the worst possible situation. "What brought you to Kismet in the first place?" @courtneyxblake

Courtney was always open to meeting new people and making new friends. And having a new work friend was something Courtney had been so excited over. So when Bea asked her for coffee, she jumped at the chance. "Absolutely! I'm glad you asked." She said with a soft and friendly smile, as she took her seat across from Bea. "Likewise, I'm hoping you're liking it so far." She said before taking a sip of her drink. "Everyone is great, thankfully I've been there for about two years and so far I love it." @beatrizxsouza

Bea sat down, placing both of their drinks down on the table as she did so. "It's nice to have met a friend at work already," she'd only been at work about a week now, but everyone had already been so kind to her, "everyone is really so nice there."

Beatriz had wanted to go out and have a good time but once she got there, she kept spotting a familiar face and each time her eyes landed on him, his lips were locked with someone else. It disgusted her, having to keep seeing it. So, she tried to mind her business until it happened again and this time, he was talking to her. "Oh, shut up," Bea rolled her eyes at Chase, "You're the party pooper," she shot back at him, though it was a seemingly childish insult, right? Chase was having the best fucking night. At the moment he currently had some blonde on top of him and the last thing he really expected was for his friend to bring her. One second he's making out with someone and the next the girl is getting off him with a disgust look on her features. He sits up on the couch, turning to look behind it to see Beatriz looking right at him. "Who the fuck keeps bringing you to these things? I swear to fucking God." He mutters under his breath and at her smirk. He raises his hand and gives her a thumbs up. "Way to be a fucking party pooper again, Bea."

When Beatriz looked up from her phone, her heart stopped beating in her chest. Signing up for book club had been her way to immerse herself into the community she had once grown up in. However, she spotted someone from across the room and all she wanted to do was retreat into a shell and hibernate for the rest of her life. Of course - she had to guess that she'd run into Camila at some point, but she did not think it would be today, so soon into coming home. Bea looked around the room, ready to bolt - but the book club was called to meeting, leaving her trapped in the room with the person she had wronged. @camilaquintanalopez

Reading had been a favourite of Camila's since she had been able to properly get through a book so it wasn't really a surprise that she'd signed up for the town's bookclub almost as soon as she got there last September. She'd met a few people through the club and it was nice to get out of her office or her flat sometimes. New people signed up from time to time, and she never minded it, it wasn't a closed club or anything, but today, she wished it was. Nothing could've prepared her for what waited inside the home of the host. She froze when she saw Beatriz' face. What the hell?! Wasn't she still in New York? Or the pits of hell for whoever cared? Not being one to make a scene, Camila made her way to the very opposite side of the room, avoiding any kind of eye contact and choosing instead to say hi to the other members. @beatrizxsouza

"Yeah," she was a bit relieved that the man looked like his photos. Back in New York, there had been too many times in which she had gone on a date and the person did not resemble the online photo they posted. She suffered through most of the dates, immediately deleting them once she returned home. Anyone that lied about what they looked like was not someone she wanted to get involved with. "Nice to meet you, Eddie," she smiled at him, taking his extended hand to shake it. "Should we, uh, see if our table is ready?" @eddiexcastro

Eddie was starting to think maybe this whole dating app thing was a bad idea. The dates so far hadn't gone well by any means, but he was getting into this nice habit of bringing Verity home some dessert afterwards so that was something. Though, this whole thing was to try to get him to not have feelings for his roommate and best friend, but that definitely wasn't working well. So here he was on another date with Bea, who he vaguely knew, and he was hoping this one would go well. Or did he? Maybe going home and taking Verity some dessert would be nice. God, he wasn't supposed to be thinking of another woman on date, was he? He was truly a mess. Hearing his name, it cut him from his thoughts as he walked into the restaurant and his eyes widened for a second before softening and he put on a smile. "Yeah! That's me. Bea?" Moving back to town a week ago, Beatriz had been getting used to being in Kismet Harbor once more. She had not exactly told many people that she was coming back. Snagging an apartment downtown, she had decided to join the local book club and it was the first meeting that she would be apart of. Thankfully, they had just finished a book and would be meeting to discuss that and a new book. When she showed up at Leonora Clairmont's home, she was greeted by the gracious host and offered a seat where she fiddled on her phone until more people began to show up.
