In keeping with that momentous occasion we built them a conference room size table that displays the single largest engraving we've ever produced: their badge. Filled with pearlescent white epoxy, we wanted this one to stand out and be special!

This place and the family that worked the land around it have withstood the tests of time. The first tobacco barn on this tract of land in Hurricane, WV was built in 1857. From that sprang up several other barns and a homestead that supported six generations of family. The tobacco business is long gone but story of this place is far from over. Anthony, the current patriarch appreciates his place in the family line, and he's making moves to preserve his famliy's place in this valley for future generations. This old barn has got to come down to make way for his plans, and that's where we come in. Deconstruction will be slow; we'll take it down board by board. We don't use any heavy machinery so it stays pretty quiet with just crowbars and the cracks from creaky boards that have hung here for a hundred years. But the story of this place can continue in the pieces that we're able to make from it. Among Anthony's plans is to build a place for family gatherings filled with antique items that belonged to his family over all those years. Having some fun with Snowshoe Mountain! This great looking single slab of West Virginia maple needed the perfect project and this was it. After getting the overall shape right we first engraved the hare. Then we poured in some clear epoxy and then sanded, and sanded and sanded... then sanded some more. Once it was ready we wiped on our own amber finish that we mix ourselves here at the shop and voila!
