All tests are temporary, limited in duration. 1 Peter 1:6 says,

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.”

Some tests end on earth, but all tests will end in heaven, right?

I wonder how many times you have been let down by someone?

Jesus was attending a wedding with the disciples and his mother, Mary, when she approached him with a seemingly irrelevant problem. “‘They have no more wine,’ she told him” (John 2:3).

The “listening heart” – I love the sound of these two words whether they are spoken or read.  They conjure up a quiet time, a space where you can listen to and hear what God is saying to you.  Times like these can be in the middle of storms with the thunder crashing around you or in the silence of a sunrise.  These are the times that are so very special and mean that we have taken the time to just “be” and simply nestle ourselves in the arms of God.

Lord Jesus, Today I draw near to You and ask You to fill me with Your peace and Your presence by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessed One, sometimes it is hard for me to see the blessings that are all around me.  Enable my eyes to be opened to the beauty and the joys that surround me.  Help me to see the blessings in every situation and respond with thanks and praise, just as St Teresa did.  Amen

Almighty and Most Holy God, I want all of my life to be lived out to your glory, a living testament of thanks to you for the grace you have given me in Jesus. While I do not always do this as well as I would like, I lovingly offer you my words, my actions, my heart and my mind to bring you glory by doing your will. Please, use your Spirit to remove the areas of self-deception from my life so that weakness and hypocrisy will not rob my discipleship of its intended worship of your majesty. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
