End blood quantum now

Blood quantum is how much native blood you have in you and it needs to be a certain threshold to qualify you as a tribal member. Blood quantum varies from tribe to tribe.

It means my mom is a tribal member but because my dad is outside of my tribe... I don't have enough tribal blood to enroll. Neither does my daughter. Our "official" indigeneity ended with me.

My dad is still native tho. Just southern native. Others have two parents enrolled in separate tribes and can't enroll in either one despite being Full native because their parents were mixed with other tribes so they don't have enough blood of Any tribe to qualify.

And to what end are they doing this?

Under the treaties the US govt can lay no claim to native land. So how do they fix that? Get rid of the natives, of course.

And since they can't slaughter us in broad daylight anymore they did the next best thing. What the colonial government has ALWAYS done to us and other poc.

Made up a bunch of arbitrary laws to restrain and limit our power and numbers.

And this can't continue. We are the only race who needs to apply to be part of the community we were born into. The only race who needs to prove our blood.

And that's the thing: it's not even based on blood. Racist scientists defined who was a full-blooded native based on things like shoe size, head circumference, and skin pigment.

Not blood. And besides that it wasn't uncommon for outsiders to become part of a tribe!! You didn't need to be native by blood to be native! Blood quantum has made it IMPOSSIBLE for them to qualify and made it impossible for tribes to practice that long time aspect of our culture.

So please share this post. So many people legitimately think natives are extinct and even less are aware that we do more than just sit around drinking all day. Few people have good feelings about us and within that there are a few who actively help. Please be one of those few.

These towers are the Ocean Wide Plaza. I think they sit in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. They are vacant. Basically a bunch of luxury apartments in a city filled with homeless. A bunch of taggers have been hitting this place up before the city demolishes these towers instead of actually putting people into them.

Honestly, I love graffiti and would rather look at this kind of art over any museum exhibit but that’s just me. Just wanted to share some news of some artistic expression.

Not to be dramatic, but Haiti hasn’t had a presidential election since our last president was assassinated in 2021. We haven’t had a proper government for 3 years. The U.S. has been dragging their feet convicting people for the murder and much of the case has been classified.

The U.S. has a history of overthrowing our democratically elected leaders in favor of a U.S. backed puppet, and that puppet is our Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, who has done next to nothing to support the people; he’s only there to prop up the international board of leaders in Haiti that only hold the interests American banks in relation to the country.

With Aristide in the early 2000’s, we were supposed to have a government that was elected by the people for the people; a president who demanded that the U.S. give Haiti reparations but the U.S. had him overthrown to protect their interests.

All we want is the power to govern ourselves, and choose our own leaders who actually put the country first and not American banks. We’re tired. We’re angry.

And we see what’s going on in Palestine and we weep because we see the pattern. America is nothing if not predictable.

How can you talk about anything else today. She was six. Millions heard her cries begging to be saved. We heard her older cousin be slaughtered, heard the baby pull the phone from her cousin’s dead hands, heard her cry and beg to be saved, to be allowed to live, to be pardoned for a crime no one in that fucking car committed. The occupation knew she was there, knew she was the only one alive in that pile of bodies, and they killed her anyway. They knew, they knew, they knew. They allowed paramedics to approach her, and then bombed them just mere meters away from her, then killed her. The occupation allowed them to believe she could be saved and then killed all of them moments away from her rescue. She was in a car fleeing the evacuation zone along the correct route as instructed. The ambulance waited three hours, three hours of her being trapped between the rotting bodies of her dead family, for the occupation’s permission to save her, and when they gave it, the occupation killed them anyway. What else is there to say. How can you quantify that level of cruelty. How many more worse things have happened that we don’t have a recording of? How much evil has the zionist occupation regime been allowed to get away with in the interest of western imperialism? How many six year old girls who love bratz, who have a bluey plush, who want to grow up to be doctors or ballerinas or astronauts, have been sniped from this earth? Their bodies desecrated, left to bloat and be eaten by animals and have their graves bulldozed and their organs taken? At least ten fucking thousand. At least.

They are not prepared for the stresses of a rural life: farming; harvesting; tapping pumpkins to ensure none of them have been replaced with flesh; losing out on income by having to use one of your pigs in a blood sacrifice to paint protective sigils over your doors and windows; checking cracks and chimneys for the flesh-vines of the Pumpkin Lord; having to decide, before the Growth is complete, whether that's really your tradwife or an amassment of vines, leaves, and blood in the shape of your tradwife; ignoring their desperate pleas that "I'm me!
