Jaskier's last clear memory is being seized by Nilfgaardian soldiers, but everything after that is a blank.

The next thing he knows, he awakens in a grimy back alley. Pain radiates through his body, and he knows something is terribly wrong. A kind of wrong one is not supposed to talk about

When he finally reunites with Geralt, Jaskier keeps quiet about his ordeal, afraid that Geralt might hold him responsible.

Kaer Morhen is meant to be a sanctuary, but Geralt's concern grows as Jaskier, now staying at the fortress, is plagued by nightmares that he refuses to discuss.

Jaskier didn't often get the chance to play the hero, but once he did, rescuing a woman from a perilous situation. As it turned out, this woman wasn't just any damsel in distress—she was a mystical deity with considerable power.

Impressed by Jaskier's act of bravery, she took a liking to him and decided to reward him by granting him immortality, along with the ability to see the future.

However, there was a catch: Jaskier couldn't control his newfound power, and the visions came at random, overwhelming him and driving him gradually insane.

Fortunately, Geralt stumbled upon Jaskier just as the bard was having a public meltdown due to a particularly intense vision. Now, Geralt must find a way to strip Jaskier of this uncontrollable power before it completely shatters his bard's sanity.

Netflix should have done smth w the doppler that turns into jask in the books

you know if netflix hadn't been fucking cowards, instead of all the filler bs we got, we could have had a scene in ep 1 where they recycle the book story (eternal flame).... and have him turn into Jaskier.

could be exactly like the story where it's just a job and geralt lets it go and have ciri be like "who was that, geralt?" and geralt says nothing, that would've been cool! choose your own response!

just SHOW Geralt still thought about jask, in some way? and oh gods, Joey would have KILLED it, you know he would have!

hell, if you wanna stick w the evil doppler (which i hate but i gotta work with what we got) to get ciri and once it turns into Jaskier either geralt can't kill it and Ciri/X character has to do it and geralt has to see 'jaskier' die right in front of him (and then maybe we could have had a reaction when yen tells him he's in trouble??)

The next time Geralt sees Jaskier after the mountain, he learns that the bard is gravely ill and may not have long to live.

Geralt is heartbroken as he spends time near what will be Jaskier's deathbed. In all their time together, Geralt had always been able to save and protect Jaskier, but not this time. There's no monster fight, just human sickness.

After Geralt reaches out to Yennefer in a desperate plea for her to save Jaskier, she points out that Jaskier isn't fully human as he doesn't seem to age. Therefore, no normal illness should kill him.

Then Geralt finds, right under the bed, a hex bag.
