Professional Medias
Just through my Social Media class, I have created this blog and a LinkedIn account and I already had Facebook, Instagram and TikTok before. I actually use my Instagram a lot for my baking. I post pictures and videos and provide the link as well as little tips that I may have. On Facebook, I tend to share what I posted on Instagram since they are owned by the same person and it’s super easy. Also, LinkedIn has a summary of me as well as the area of interest I am in all on my page. There are a lot of accounts that I follow on TikTok that have everything to do with baking and I hope to start posting my own content soon. Social media is so helpful for brands and businesses and I hope to grow on all of these platforms.

Social Media Knowledge
I somewhat expected to walk into this class and make it through easy with how much I use social media in my everyday life but that’s not exactly what ended up happening. I quickly realized how much I’ve stayed away from certain medias due to not knowing how to navigate them. In this class, I was forced to learn a couple new medias including LinkedIn, Twitter to an extent and even Tumblr. I also learned about RSS feeds, which I had no idea what they were before. Although we learned so much, I did kind of want to learn about what the consumer likes to see pop up on their page. We did touch this, but I would’ve liked to go in depth about how to word posts or even what colors are more attracting. Social media is now how marketing takes place, meaning I will be using it a lot in my future. The trend apps are always changing, though. I can see myself using Instagram a lot as well as TikTok until it dies out and then moving onto something new. I like change and updates in the media world and I can acclimate fairly well.
I loved getting a head start on a baking blog. I still have so much to learn and I may end up exploring other blog pages but I can definitely see myself keeping up with one from now on!

Baking found on... TikTok?
Hey guys! Is it just me or has TikTok slowly turned into the next best place to get easy, foolproof recipes with a surprisingly good tutorial? I was so against getting TikTok for the reason that I thought all I would see were teenagers doing silly dances but to my surprise there are so many cool baking videos! I find myself scrolling for an hour just watching all of the Christmas baking or simply recipes and I’ve even made a few myself! Here, I’ll give you a snippet of what I’ve gotten myself addicted to.

Helpful Personal Branding Tips
When I first started this blog, I wondered how I was going to successfully build my personal brand strategy. Since I am so new to blogging, I resorted in other blogs to help me along the way.
The first blog that helped me to even begin is actually from one of my favorite bloggers. It’s called Blogging 101 and goes through the steps of why and how to start a food blog. It has so much to do with passion and takes time but if it something you love, it won’t seem like a daunting task but rather a fun hobby. Jamie has positioned herself as a very successful self-taught baker who has a full time job but still finds time for her favorite thing- baking

Another blog I found is by a baker named Jenna. It’s called how to start a successful food blog and goes through 6 steps to aid someone who has never blogged be able to start one! They are all simple but really give insight into the initial steps you must take to be successful.

Something that I first questioned was how to make my pictures look professional. I came across a photographer who has a blog about 10 steps to better photos.

This next blog opened my eyes to the many different ways to bring in more and keep more viewers. with connection to the 3 previous blogs I mentioned, you can create a very successful, long lasting blog.

Another helpful blog that goes over a few things that the previously mentioned ones do, plus more, is Sally’sBakingAddiction. This blog goes over the definitions of terms related to blogging such as self-hosted and hosted blog. She also goes into what websites are good to use and how to design your website.

These five blogs have taught me more in such a short amount of time than I thought they could. all of the amazing, successful bloggers have built their own personal brand strategy and are now willing to share it with anyone who wants to do so!

Bake with me!
Hi everyone! My name is Beth and I have created this blog to share with you all some of my favorite recipes I’ve found and the finished result of what I bake! I will also be giving tips and advice on baking and recipe tweaking. As I prepare for pastry school, I want to dedicate myself to what I love most and share that love with others who feel the same. I hope you decide to stick around to see me grow and help me along the way to someday opening up my own bakery!
