there's a dot at the end of the sentence with rachel amber and she died later and that is the only sentence with a dot at the end of it

which is interesting because chloe also died but got revived later over and over again or not, depending on which ending you choose, but there is not a dot at the end of her sentence one way or another

so is that a guarantee that she always survives anyways?

since listen hear me out when we have a fever dream scene in the episode 5, there appears another max that talks to our max about leaving her and so many more versions of max behind whenever she rewinds, so just jumping into another timeline but not rewriting the one she is rewinding

so does this all mean that in the sacrifice chloe ending, the max and chloe that you leave behind manage to survive one way or another?

i meann i don't think that we can trust nightmare max too much (dare i say, at all), but what if she said the truth there?

i might be reading into this too much but we all know that there is a huge amount of detail put in literally everything in the game

Why do you think Chloe had Max wear Rachel’s clothes? I’ve heard a lot of people use that as evidence that Chloe wanted Max to “be rachel” which I don’t personally agree with; but I’m interested to hear what you think.

I personally view this moment as more of a narrative statement about Max than Chloe.

Chloe doesn't initially offer to let Max wear Rachel's clothes. She just says that Max can find something she likes out of her "fashion hole." Then Max spots an outfit she likes, and Chloe says that Rachel left some clothes with her that are Max's size. Max second guesses the outfit, and Chloe tells her to "let her inner punk rock girl come out" and try them on.

This scene doesn't read to me like Chloe is trying to force the image of Rachel onto Max. It reads like she's trying to encourage her confidence. Max shows a clear interest in the outfit, but she's too shy to wear it without some encouragement. Therefore, Chloe boosts her up.

I think the statement of this scene is actually about Max. Episode 1 Max likely would have shrugged off the idea of ever wearing a punk outfit. She usually likes to wear causal clothes that make it easier to blend into the background, so the fact that she's even willing to give Rachel's clothes a try are a huge statement to her character growth.

I just don't see this scene as anything indicative of Chloe projecting Rachel onto Max. I feel like Rachel would have been mentioned for more than a sentence if that was the case, and Max wearing Rachel's clothes does fit really well with her character arc.

Plus, I think Chloe has always been shown to view Rachel and Max as two very distinct people. (EX: Chloe changing her phone wallpaper to Max if she sides with her enough, but leaving it as Rachel if Max doesn't side with her enough.) Sure, she often thinks about Max and Rachel when they aren't with her, but that doesn't automatically translate into projection. I would actually argue that moments like the pool scene where she tells Max that she wishes Rachel was with them stacks points against that idea. To me it doesn't seem like Chloe's a projector as much as she's a mourner.

That's just my take on things, though! Tldr: I think this scene is supposed to represent Max's character growth into becoming someone more confident, and I don't Chloe projects Rachel onto Max or vice versa.

man, im rewatching life is strange and we gotta give some props to the team for that nightmare sequence in the last episode

the randomness, the confusion, the distant voices, the weird sized stuff, the terrible things you'd never say in real life, the deep fears you didnt even noticed that existed taking form, it all feels PERFECTLY like a dream

it is not easy to capture that really specific feeling of a dream and they not only did that but translated it to a audiovisual work, that shits impressive

In most media, Chloe would be a confident flirt as a punk rock character. That's why I love that Life Is Strange chose to make her a gay nerd instead.

All of her flirting is subtle. She tries to get a read on Max's sexuality by asking her which locker room she wants to enter the pool through. Which isn't a real indicator of anything.

She also makes jokes about Max making a move on her and then rewinding. Which is a little more straightforward, but could also be backpedaled as a joke if it didn't get the response she wanted. Just like when she asks Max to kiss her on a "dare" so she can make a move without backing herself into a corner if it goes wrong.

Then you compare that to Max who's two most defining character traits are that she's a bit awkward and also likes to watch the world more than participate in it. So with that in mind you'd assume her to be the easily flustered one who's just too overwhelmed by Chloe's presence.

But nope! Max initiates both kisses with no hesitation. She jumps for Chloe's lips in her room like a man in a desert seeing water. She has no fear of this blooming romance and embraces it in a very self confident way.

The point of this post is that Max is the one with the rizz while Chloe is a massive cringe fail. Which is an inverse of what it seems like it would be on the surface.

This graffiti in Chloe’s room is chilling. 

She likely placed it there as a motivator to live life to the fullest. Yet, she had no idea her life would flash before her eyes six times in the span of one week. 

Six times she relived her childhood with Max, time spent with Rachel, and the deep tragedy that followed. Did it all flash quickly, or did certain memories linger? Was she thinking about her final day with William as the train raced toward her? Did she remember being on stage with Rachel’s hand in her own as she was caught in the storm while Max was in a gallery far away? Was she stuck in her childhood playing pirates with Max as Nathan pressed the gun against her stomach and pulled the trigger?

Imagine accidentally foreshadowing your death with silly little room graffiti. And imagine Max or Joyce going into Chloe’s room after the sacrifice Chloe ending and seeing this message while only being able to stare.

I love the little moment where Alyssa makes an excuse for Kate not being in class.

It shows that Arcadia Bay is a world that doesn’t completely revolve around Max. People have friendships and dynamics that she doesn’t know a lot about. The only other hint we get to Alyssa and Kate’s friendship outside of this moment is a picture you can find in Kate’s room, and that’s perfect because the shy Max wouldn’t know every aspect of everyone’s relationship. 

Also, I like how Alyssa says Kate is sick to give her a “genuine” excuse. While I think the mental stress Kate is going through is a good enough reason to miss class, unfortunately, most academic institutes don’t see it that way. So Alyssa saying that Kate isn’t feeling good gives her some wiggle room to avoid getting in trouble. It’s not a complete lie either since Kate isn’t in a good headspace.

So I like this small little interaction! It’s neat and gives some depth to Alyssa who is a minor character in the grand scheme of things.
