The music was thumping loudly in your ears as you swayed your hips to the beat of whatever remix the DJ was playing. After margarita number four, you just let the music move you on the crowded dance floor.

It has been two weeks since everyone who perished in the snap had come back. The years that they had been gone were long and dark, but you were both lucky and unlucky enough to be one of the ones who survived.

You were one of the Agents with S.H.I.E.L.D. and on a small mission when Thanos snapped. You and your childhood best friend were back to back fighting when suddenly, the goons attacking you started crumbling to ash. Everyone in combat stopped immediately, trying to figure out what was going on, but soon, only two goons were standing. They looked at you and your friend in fear, and thinking this had something to do with you, fired a shot. You didn’t have time to dodge, so you braced for impact, but it never came. You turned to your friend, confusion printed on your features. The confusion quickly turned to fear as she fell on you, blood seeping from her chest and onto you. You lowered her down to the ground with you and hoisted her into your lap.

In a fit of rage, you fired your pistol non-stop at the goons until they dropped dead, tears clouding your vision as your friend grasped at her chest.

Your attention was now back on your best friend. You tried to put pressure on her chest, but you both knew this was it. With a sinking heart, you pleaded for her to stay with you. She said her last goodbyes while you grasped the hand on her chest, putting as much pressure as you could on the wound to prolong the inevitable. Your free hand was on her cheek, wiping away the tears pouring from her eyes. With one final “I love you” from the each of you, her tears stopped, and she fell slack in your grasp.

As time passed and people finally figured out the cause of this universe-wide catastrophe, the remaining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers (ex and current) teamed up and grieved together over the loss of friends, colleagues, and family.

In this time, you and Steve became close. Many had tried getting him to open up about losing Bucky, but only you succeeded when you found him one sleepless night, sitting at the dining room table at 3am, sobbing into a bottle of Tequila, knowing good and well that it would have no effect on him.

His back was facing you as you rounded the corner silently. Soft sniffles could be heard from where he was sitting. You had only known Steve for a couple months since the snap, so you debated sneaking back down the hall and letting him grieve on his own.

Before you could make a decision, the floor made a small clicking sound when you settled your weight to one side, and his head snapped around to you.

You jumped in shock. “Sorry! I- I didn’t mean to-”

Steve turned back around and wiped his eyes quickly before turning back to you. “-no, no it’s okay! I- It’s fine!” He tried to reassure in a gravelly tone.

It fell silent again, and Steve had his back turned to you once more, but it was much more stiff now. You let out a small breath before stepping around to the table.

“Mind if I have a seat?”

I’m a coward for possible angst (har har to my past as the angst empress) but the author fucking nailed it and did so fucking good and developing an entire world full of magic and the way they spread small details about Keith's job as a necromancer was incredibly well done in my humble opinion, it was so damn easy to follow and understand the job and Keith’s life in easy short sentences that were like fun facts and flew so well with the rest of the scene. like they belonged together. just, really well done. AND LANCE’S SORY HURT ME. AND THEM FALLING IN LOVE. AND ACHING FOR EACH OTHER. AND THE THE THE FUCKING ANGST MAN. ramble: ok let me start by saying that this author is super really good and love a lot of their stories, this one is the one that really hook me up tbh. it’s really fucking lovely to seekeith writing lvoe letter to he believes is a guy named Taylor (yall know where this is going) it was romantic, it was adorable, it was a small doze of angst but a healthy one, happy ending. just, everything was really lovely and well written and good. the second chapter really fucking killed me man, it’s such a good re read. ramble: suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a good author, really so good. kudos x 10000. and this goddamn entire concept it’s just so fucking lovely, it’s personally one of my favorite concepts i never knew i needed and i just, wow. i literally have no words but i think i fangirled with kiilea when i rec it privatly to her and i was a meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeess. again, such a good author, they ejecuted the concept of soulmates, i guess? not soulmates per se, but every time you fall in love you get flowers on your skin, like tattos, and when you fall out of love (i believe) they fade and look like scars but they are still visable. and guess who has lovely roses glowing bright on their gorgeous brown skin? lovely, i tell you. also, smitten dorks.
