HOW TO READ BINARY MESSAGES
Hey there all you gamers out there! Have you ever seen a bunch of ones and zeroes in a television show and wondered "Huh. I wonder if this binary here is some sort of Secret Code?" and instead of googling it, you wanted to try to figure it out yourself? Well I know how to do that, and people always go "WHOA" when I tell them that, and I figured I would teach you all as well!
Now just a warning ahead of time, translating binary yourself will take some time and require a little bit of math, so don't say I didn't warn you.
So let's take a binary string like this frame from the Gravity Falls episode "Soos and The Real Girl" (which, spoilers, IS a secret message)
Tumblr media
So the first thing you're gonna want to do is divide the binary into groups of 8. If it is a secret message, then each group of 8 bits will represent as ASCII value (or, for the sake of this explanation, letters). So let's divide them up.
Tumblr media
That gives us: 01010011, 01010000, 01000001, 01000011, 01000101, 01001010, 01000001, 01001101, 01010100, 01010111, and 01001111. Now, you might have noticed that all of these binary strings have something in common. They all start with "010"! That's gonna be your first tell that you've got a secret message on your hands. Every letter in ASCII starts with either 010 or 011 for lowercase letters. So if you see the groups don't start with either of those, then it's just random gibberish binary that someone just keysmashed 1 and 0 for. So now we know we have a message, so we can begin translating. And to show off how that works, we're going to translate the first set together!
The way binary works is that each digit from the right to the left represents a power of 2. The farthest right digit represents 1. The second to last digit represents 2. The third to last digit is 4. Then 8. Then 16. When reading more complex binary stuff, you go further than that, but for reading ASCII letters, we only use 5 digits. For each of those digits, if the digit is 1, then you add the value that the digit represents. If it's 0, then you don't. From there, you add up the numbers you've got, and then run the sum through the handy dandy a1z26 cipher (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, and so on)
So again, let's have a look at that first string: 01010011
Tumblr media
And there you go! Now you just need to repeat this for every letter! It sounds harrowing at first, but over time you get the hang of it to the point where you can do it in your head. Feel free to give is a shot yourself and decode the rest of the message from the Gravity Falls episode
Now obviously there are a few exceptions. For example if you have a number or punctuation it will start with "001", and from there translating a number from 0 to 9 is easy since it's the same thing but without the A1Z26 cipher, but with punctuation you have to remember specific values, which is a pain in the ass, but if you're translating a decoded message, you don't really need to know the punctuation.
And that should do it! Hope you enjoyed this little explanation.

the fact someone can be bullied over their views is definitely one that reflected a lot, like i mean we can view people as individuals though generally the main problem is once somebody shows signs of a mental condition people stop caring because they believe he's crazy. it's really sad since we don't exactly understand someone's character and imo it'd be nice if we can assume things aren't that binary for things that aren't objectively bad. i admit i have asd and social anxiety which had peaked in 2021 though i've been slowly overcoming that with friends who understand me but really for other people they did one mistake and it's the end of them and it's very disproportionate realising that from another pov and part of my goals are definitely not to think that in situations. i'm pretty prone to b&w thinking and i'm trying to overcome that and take things at a empathetic perspective but really there are cases where you don't know the person and make assumptions. so to someone who is neurodivergent i feel this so hard that it's a pretty intruding feeling when you fear about self-image and how you come across because it's easy to say you support neurodivergent people without recognizing the conditions or supporting them, even in the modern era we say we support people when they behave like us but what if they're not?
what if it took a long time to realise they did something wrong and get cancelled and it's their entire image and they're genuinely apologetic about it? it's something i reflected when i saw a twitter drama over someone being cancelled and bullied over a fic even after she genuinely apologized for that since the situation isn't always as clear cut. also people probably had bad experiences and they end up writing things that nobody can control (fics/art/proships) and nobody is there to tell them gently on how to have healthier outlets, all they face is jeers and cancellation. so looking at things on another perspective i realised how important it is not to think somebody is defined as the biggest mistake they did, of course this philosophy has its limits if someone refuses to acknowledge their faults and could not be talked to over it in which there is no point if they refuse to redeem. overall i wish people had a more empathetic approach on those kind of things though we're humans which is a perpetual weakness, us wanting to be right all the time is a problem since this doesn't allow us to take a breather and consider other solutions to a problem and it's refreshing once you acknowledge that unironically. as someone who had been diagnosed with that and struggling to have the cues for people i wish people took others with respect. idk i just wanted to vent about it after seeing a situation on twitter which did make me question about humanity, it was only a single fic of a inanimate insanity ship that led to em getting harrassed so disproportionately and i don't think people should be bullying em since it led to a breaking point, it happened, people only helped when she was at the verge of despair which is very depressing and hopefully we move forward from that.

Let me introduce to you my newest self inserted OC, Outono!
Outono, the Court Jester, was a paradoxical figure in the royal court. With her striking beauty and enchanting singing voice, she captivated all who beheld her.
However, her attempts at humor often fell flat, leaving awkward silences in their wake. Her nerves betrayed her before every performance, manifesting in uncontrollable shakes and a flushed complexion.
Despite her comedic shortcomings, her gentle nature and sincere apologies endeared her to those around her, earning her a unique place in the court's tapestry of characters.
I cannot describe how much I fell in love with this Jester! She only existed for 2 days maybe but I wrote a whole background story around her and created multiple fake scenarios in my head. She's so cute! But also a girlfailure hahaha

I like how MP100 fully sidesteps the "But Who Deserves Redemption?" question bc honestly it's a bad framing that gets extremely bogged down in philosophical debates about Good and Evil and who gets to make the call and becomes an awful quagmire and is also not necessary. the better questions are:
Is this person capable of change? (Answer: Yes, always.)
Are they actually going to change? (Answer: That's up to them.)
Do you want them in your life? (Answer: That's up to you.)

So I may had a little vision of victim.
Tumblr media
And it's like a "what if.." situation, basically it's "what if victim came back to Alan's PC and brought something he created" aka the gloves that make him have animator power but a little bit more advanced that what agent had in the wanted episode, oh and the tie has nothing additional it's just a "decoration" :)
