Zynga failed to block the lawsuit by its shareholders.
I saw this news a couple weeks ago and finally have time to post it here, although it’s not directly related to AGG.

hello! about your instruction to refunds for itunes, it's only work if we made a purchase in 90 days ago? So we couldn't refund our money that we use more than 90 days ago?
You can dispute transactions you made more than 90 days ago with iTunes by sending the details of your transaction (such as transaction #, date, charge, etc.) to iTunes customer service through emails. Please refer to my instruction (Step 4) for how to contact iTunes through emails. However, that you can dispute those charges doesn’t guarantee the issues would be resolve in your favor (my friend got refunds for purchases she made in September 2014, but not any purchases earlier than that date), and if your iTunes is set in countries other than USA, you’d probably never receive a response from iTunes.

Request refunds from Zynga (if Google Play refuses to refund you)
I had plans about this instruction last week, but hesitated to begin writing as I was not familiar with all the processes, and I wasn’t sure if banks would stand for us. However, recently I found out that for most banks there is a time limit for disputes so if we want to retrieve most of our money (if not all) back, we’d better dispute our transactions asap.
This instruction is for AGG players who are refused refunds by Google Play. If you haven’t talked to Google yet, please refer to my instruction about how to deal with Google Play before continuing to read this guide. If you paid through iTunes, please refer to my instruction about how to request refunds from iTunes and ignore this guide (as you’d probably get all refunded from iTunes).
***Find out what policies your bank has about disputes, talk to your bank asap, and file disputes.***
I used a variety of payment methods for AGG, such as Discover, Citi, and Paypal, and they all have different time limits for disputes.
Discover: You can file disputes for transactions within 120 days online. For transactions older than 120 days, you have to call them or use the online chat.
Citi: They can’t dispute any transactions older than 60 days.
Paypal: They changed their policy on 11/18/2014, so for a situation like AGG, we could file disputes online with any purchases made with Zynga on or after 11/18/2014 before 05/17/2015. I haven’t filed any disputes with Paypal yet, however, from my understanding, when I file a dispute, I’ll be dealing with Google through the platform provided by Paypal. If I escalate my dispute to a claim within 20 calendar days of its open date, Paypal will step in and make the final decision.
Updates about Paypal: I just called Paypal at (888) 221-1161 and spoke to a representative, who helped me to file all the disputes and escalated them into claims. Once the claims are filed, Google has to respond within 10 calendar days, or the claims will be resolved in my favor.
Nowadays most banks have online chat that is available 24/7, and is probably the most convenient way to dispute many transactions. If your bank don’t have online chat, they will probably have a dispute form for you to fill out and send to them, or you can call and talk to the dispute team directly.
I can’t promise that your bank will resolve such issues in your favor. However, from my own experience, my disputes filed last Saturday are getting resolved and I’m receiving courtesy adjustments on my account.

Request refunds from Zynga (iTunes only)
During the past few days I’ve been working on my refunds and helping my guild mates to get refunds. I’ve written an instruction about getting refunds through Google Play, and here is the instruction for iTunes.
Step 1: Open your purchase history in iTunes. If you don’t know how to do so, please follow this guide.
Step 2: Select the dates for your purchase:
Tumblr media
Step 3: For the purchase you’d like to request a refund, click “Report a Problem,” you will be redirected to a webpage and requested to log in. For purchases within 90 days, you’ll be able to request refunds by filling forms:
Tumblr media
Step 4: If your purchases were made before 90 days of your request, please visit this website and you would see these options once you select “Purchase, Billing and Redemption”:
Tumblr media
With an unethical company like Zynga, you can either choose “iTunes Store account billing” or “The topic is not listed” to request refunds.
From my guild mate’s experience, if you are in the United States, Apple customer support will contact you within 72 hours (the website says 48 hours but it generally takes longer), and you will have a pretty good chance to get refunds for all the purchases you made with Zynga.

Getting refunds from Zynga (Google Play only)
Yes we’ll all miss Ayakashi Ghost Guild, but the chance for signing a petition to bring it back is very slim, and the last thing we want to see is Don Mattrick walking away with our money to buy himself a palace.
So if you ever made any purchase within AGG, please contact iTunes or Google Play to request a refund. Since I’m using Android system I’ll introduce how to request refunds from Google Play here.
Step 1: Click this link, and you will see things like this:
Tumblr media
Step 2: Type in your name, choose “In-app Purchase”, and select a reason for your refund. My reason for refund is “Purchase is defective or doesn’t work as advertised” and it works. Some other players chose “I no longer want this purchase” and it works as well. Choose your preferred one.
Step 3: Log in to your Google Wallet, click the transaction for which you would like to get a refund, and you could find a transaction ID like these:
Tumblr media
Step 4: Copy and paste your transaction ID to your refund request form. For the “Describe your issue” part I told Google how Zynga told the players they wouldn’t close AGG and encouraged playing during February but suddenly they shut down AGG now.
Tumblr media
Step 5: Submit your refund request form. From my own experience, purchases under $20 would be refunded pretty soon while those over $20 would be under investigation and you will receive further notice.
Google Play has really strict guidelines that are pro-developers instead of pro-customers (what they call “open-sourced” lol), but it’s still not a bad idea to try out the form as I’ve been granted refunds for purchases since 2/18. If you are in the US, you can call (855) 836-3987 so you don’t have to wait for investigation.
