Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
Lil mini TFA comic set in my au playgrounds about the time Bumblebee was having it rough during his Autobot training with Sentinel Minor. Seaspray offers him a way to help get his mind off it and show him what he believes it means to be an Autobot. What will come of Bumblebee and his zombie space pirate fighting adventure? More to come, stay tuned!!
In G1 Bumbleebee and Seaspray seemed like really good friends, so I thought of doing a TFA spin on em and giving Seaspray a sorta role model/mentor role. Whether not this unhinged war vet who's seen hell and might just let Bee run around with a Halo Energy sword fighting zombies is a good rolemodel or not is up for debate- buuut where's the fun in that!
Must have been in the same drone program as this scrunkly thing, it also came out of a WW2 drone. Someone donated it to SnF's museum last summer. Very cool how both the sparkplug holes are on the topside of the cylinder to prevent oil fouling so it could fly for pretty much forever.
Saw the feature on another Franklin at SnF, a smaller 65 hp varient. Does yours have that? :0
@specter-177 do you say you need an upgraded Franklin engine?
I have some how ended up in a group that roleplays boomer pilots for sillies and I cant tell the difference between the rp or actual boomer pilot posts in other groups
it has broken me
all day ive had:
GLOBESs
GRobleS
VOR MAGENTER LINE 🦇🙏
BARB LEFT ME GLORBSS
running thru my head & I'll blurt it randomly. Send helb
Just now I learned a pirate ship steering wheel ia in fact an option to have on an aircraft and I think I know what I'm putting in place of the Ultra Pup's copilot control stick >:3

wada sez: People didn’t really like this one. Mike said on deviantART: “thanks for digging the art-as for the story, I purposely didn’t think too far into it. Lockdown collects a bounty on Bludgeon, frying coneheads in his path. Thats it. Just a fun one pager that just came together as I was drawing it, no more, no less..take it or leave it. Just wanted to draw some Decepticons I like in a simple and short fashion, like a snippet out of a larger tale. Use your imagination and fill in the blanks.” Bludgeon and Lockdown both appear in their toy-only Revenge of the Fallen designs, which people commonly repurposed as the characters’ G1 incarnations.
*i forgot, it's a temp service for em that keeps bugging me for em. That means they REALLY REALLY suck and cant convince any real sheetmetal workers to go build their trash trucks🤣
And it's not even a paint clear coat, it's a stick on vinyl wrap 🤣
Like if you're going for the scrap sheetmetal bin bare metal look, at least do with polished aluminum, or maybe even heat treat/put a layer of polished chrome molly over the steel so it's got some rust protection?? But that'd require sense to realize physics and chemistry dont stop working because a billionaire wanted it to bend to his will.
Bet Stankyman couldn't get any actual metal workers willing to take his trash pay & waste their skill/name on such a pos that ignores all the very basics of metal working.
i love the transformers fandom only we could see a robot in the trailer of a new giant movie and start losing our shit and screaming "ITS STEVE!!!" completely unironically
