I miss being a kid. I miss what life used to be like. I've had the worst couple of days. Nearly died multiple times. Yelled at my partner over text for most of friday. Still pissed at them but I'm just going to Jane to move on. It's our 1yr anniversary and I've spent it feeling like shit and eating chocolate and sweets.

As someone with autism catatonia, sometimes i need more help than other days. Sometimes I need help with each and every bADL, and some days I only need help with a few. My support needs themselves, on a daily basis, don’t fluctuate, but I also have to take into consideration when they do. When I do need help with each and every bADL. When I do need help with each and every little thing. When I am Catatonic. That doesn’t mean I’m high support needs one day and medium the next, and I never claim to be. But my support needs, do fluctuate in a way, and I think that annoys some people because they’ve drilled in their head “support needs don’t fluctuate”

And then they see someone like me, who one day can’t even get around without a wheelchair because they can’t walk because they’re catatonic, or get out of bed without help some days, and they get confused. Because support needs can’t possibly fluctuate. Right? And no, they’re right in 99.9% of cases. Support needs don’t fluctuate. They just don’t. You can’t be low support needs one day and high the next. That’s just not how it works. But autism catatonia is such a rare thing, that sometimes, my needs do fluctuate. Some days, I do need drastically more support than other’s.

My support needs are complex, and I never claim to be high support needs one day just because that one day I need help getting out of bed, using the bathroom, bathing, eating, etc etc. No, because on my normal day my needs aren’t like that and I don’t have the EVERYDAY experience of being high support needs. But I will continue to say my needs are complex, and I will continue to say they fluctuate in a way. But never in a way that makes me high support needs.

Support needs don’t fluctuate for 99.9.9% of people, but sometimes, with autism catatonia, my needs do. And that’s ok! But saying support needs fluctuate is wrong. And you shouldn’t use it unless you have a disorder that DOES cause rapid fluctuation like autism catatonia.

And I may be wrong on this, and I may piss some people off, but yeah. This is just my ONE experience.

AAC IS VALID!!

Hate that the thought of using AAC is still in a way frown upon.

No matter how much more is talked about and seen, the general public isn’t aware and open to it.

Like AAC is something only really know if disabled, have family member that disabled, or work with disabled people.

If was to walk up to one of my teachers and talking about AAC, they would look at me like was crazy. Because most likely doesn’t know what it. Or what used for. Or how work. Or why needed.

If was to actually use AAC like need, would be viewed as disrespectful. Which isn’t much because already seen that way to a good amount but…

Being black most definitely plays a role, even if most won’t admit. Black people see more things as disrespectful then probably should, especially if older. The concept isn’t something they really know and they extremely value spoken language. They values correct grammar and using your voice and AAC for me isn’t either of those. It’s not my body voice and I can’t always use correct grammar.

Even if don’t contribute race into why AAC frowned upon. AAC is used by those with disabilities, the public isn’t fully okay with people being disabled. With them needing more help.

So even if race wasn’t problem, using AAC still wouldn’t be okay to them

I was playing Stardew tonight and got jumpscared by the wizard just walking his ass through town in broad daylight to go to the bookseller. For 8 years he’s been a hermit! Isolated from the townsfolk who fear and distrust him! At most, he might be hiding at the edges of a festival where no one could notice him! That was the extent of his outings to Pelican Town! But now the bookseller is in town and he doesn’t give a fuck, he’s going to march his ass out there with his silly little hat on in front of the whole town and Yoba to get his books.

Before H1tl3r took over Germany in was one of the most progressive places to be gay but even after ww11 and when the camps were liberated homophobia remained and gay prisoners still had to serve the rest of their sentenced (they were identified by an upside down pink triangle)
