05.06.13 COLOGNE SHOEGAZE NIGHT presents: THE FOREIGN RESORT | THE HISTORY OF COLOUR TV | SHORELINE IS Nach dem erfolgreichen Einstand der COLOGNE SHOEGAZE NIGHT im letzten Jahr, präsentiert das Team der Veranstaltungsreihe am 05. Juni ein Mini-Festival im Tsunami Club. Drei Bands werden an dem Abend für ein atmosphärisch dichtes Klangspektrum zwischen verhallten Feedback-Sounds und aufbrausenden Gitarrenwänden sorgen. THE FOREIGN RESORT aus Dänemark haben mit ihren bisherigen Releases sowie dem aktuellen Album „Scattered & Buried“ bereits nachhaltigen Eindruck in der Indie/Shoegaze-Szene hinterlassen und stoßen mit ihren dunklen Klangpassagen auch immer wieder das Tor zum 80er-Wave auf. Soeben wurden die Aufnahmen zum nächsten Longplayer abgeschlossen, der von niemand geringerem als John Fryer (bekannt für seine Arbeiten mit Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Lush, Depeche Mode u.v.m.) produziert wird. Auf der Tour begleitet werden sie vom inzwischen in Berlin ansässigen Trio THE HISTORY OF COLOUR TV, das nach diversen Single-Releases mit seinem effektgeladenen Debütalbum „Emerald Cures Chic Ills“ anreist. Komplettiert wird das Line Up des Abends von der deutschen Band SHORELINE IS, die mit dem letztjährigen Album „Deal Kindly“ eine der bemerkenswertesten und schönsten Newcomer-Platten aus einheimischer Produktion vorgelegt hat. Das junge Trio ist sehr stark von Künstlern wie COCTEAU TWINS, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, DEPECHE MODE, FEVER RAY, HTRK, LINEAR MOVEMENT und SLOWDIVE beeinflusst. Diese Einflüsse sind clever und meistens sehr dezent in den ganz eigenen düsteren und hypnotischen Sound der Band integriert, der von Cold Wave bis Shoegaze reicht... Seit ihrer Gründung hat die Band 3 EPs geschrieben, produziert und selbst herausgebracht, die sämtlich enthusiastische Reaktionen in diversen Musik-Blogs und von DJs auf der ganzen Welt hervorriefen. Fast sechs Jahre ist es her, dass THE MARY ONETTES ihr erstes und bislang einziges Konzert in Köln gespielt haben. Damals hatten die Schweden gerade ihr Debut bei Labrador Records veröffentlicht, das es wie kaum ein zweites verstand, sehnsuchtsvolle Melodien und melancholische Texte in einer bittersüßen Melange aus zeitgemäßem Indie Pop, dunklen New Wave- Anleihen und geschmeidigem 80er-Sound zu verdichten.

In diesem Frühjahr ist mit „Hit The Waves“ nun endlich der dritte Longplayer des Quartetts erschienen und bereits die Vorabsingle „Evil Coast“ hat eindrucksvoll unter Beweis gestellt, dass THE MARY ONETTES auch weiterhin in der Lage sind, große Songs mit Tiefgang zu schreiben. Wir freuen uns, die Band nun im Rahmen ihrer nur fünf Termine umfassenden Deutschlandtour in Köln präsentieren zu können. Bei der sich anschließenden Aftershowparty wird Special Guest DJ Action!Mike [I Love Pop/Mixtape/Cocktail Twins] seinen Teil zur gewohnten ATTAQUE SURPRISE Mixtur aus New Wave, Post Punk, Electro & Indie Pop beitragen.
