Ok so you know that comic where Mammon and Satan argue and Satan fucking transforms into this huge ass devil monster thing to smash in Mammon's face?
I'd fuck that thing. You can't look at it and not wonder if it has a knot.
Why don't more people talk about it? That design looks low key bad shit awesome. Is it a true form type of thing? I NEED MORE INFORMATION
I’m late as hell to reply to this but HELL YEAH. That thing absolutely should have a knot.
And I may be ace but doesn’t mean I wouldn’t let that thing do whatever it wants whenever it wants. Would utterly destroy someone in the best way.
I’m a bit behind in WHB right now— HAVE we learned anything about those forms??????
Now I’m curious.

What In “Hell” Is Bad - Limited L-Grade Banner “Guide”
Tumblr media
Note: Now available on android as well! Unsure of any differences. I may go through and update this later with images from my phone rather than my iPad.
Looking for other guides? Check out my WHB Guide List!
Okay… not sure where to start with this one other than it’ll be nice and short. However, this is the first guide I’ve made that I hope I get to change quickly.
To start though; new L-Grade Devils to pull, and pretty, blood-covered versions of Leviathan and Beelzebub. I currently do not have them, however, so I will be unable to show their skill/ultimates at all. I’m not willing to pay for it, though, despite that I do spend money on this game… but yeah.
What’s this all about?
PrettyBusy has given us a brand new temporary banner to showcase their new devils and artifacts, basically. (With some added drama, but we’ll get to that.)
Get Leviathan (Bloodshed) or Beelzebub (Bloodshed) guaranteed within 220 pulls.
Use the new item “Solomon’s Seal” to pull (50 Rings for 1 Pull, 500 for 10 pulls)
DO NOT pull on the standard banners for these devils! Right now they’re only available on this one
The pity (220) is absurdly high, and I’ll get to why soon
You can also get two new artifacts from this new banner.
Wing-ripping Sword
Tumblr media
“The wearer’s HP and ATK SPD increases by 20%. If equipped on Leviathan (Bloodshed), has a 30.00% chance of immediately killing the enemy with under 15% HP he hits with a normal attack.”
Cracked Sunglasses
Tumblr media
“Upon an accurate hitting of a normal attack, recovers as much HP as 4.00% of HP of the wearer. If equipped on Beelzebub (Bloodshed), recovers 100% HP upon using skill.”
Both really good artifacts! Especially for the new devils. If you have the seals for it all.
What? What’s Solomon’s Seal?
This is the unfortunate part— and it wasn’t properly communicated from PrettyBusy. We knew the new currency was coming, but not the means to get it.
This is only purchasable with real money.
Tumblr media
There is four purchasing options, and none of them seem overly well priced? Let’s go over that though. We get 50 Seals for the update (1 Pull).
Prices for Solomon’s Seal Packages:
241 Seals - $11.99 (4 Pulls)
717 Seals - $49.95 (14 Pulls)
1,312 Seals -$59.99 (26 Pulls)
2,200 Seals - $99.90 (44 Pulls)
Just looking at them, it’s like… okay? But thinking about the pity, and the 0.63% chance to draw an L-Grade from the temporary banner, it’s not great.
Assuming you don’t get lucky, and you go all the way to 220?
You would need to buy the $99.90 package around 5 times. Which is ~$500. Being real, you’ll usually get them before pity, but there’s four things to get through this banner if you want everything. That’s a lot of chance.
Why is this not good, though?
Because there is no free-to-play alternative.
These seals are only obtainable in the shop, as I said before. It’s not the first game to do this, and won’t be the last. It’s not the end of the world, either. But it’s not great or motivating to the ftp players or community. I’m not going to keep ragging on this, though.
If you have an issue with this, contact PrettyBusy POLITELY. Not with anger, or profanity. Be nice.
So… I can’t get them?
You can!
Just not now, unless they change how this works. When this banner is over (Nov 14, 2023) they’ll be added to the Standard Banner to pull like all the rest.
Oh! There is one more thing to add!
Story Prologues
Tumblr media
On the bottom left of the banners you’ll find story prologues you can read to get an idea of why the boys are bloodied up. Just click the circular icon of the one you want to read!

A (Hopefully) Helpful Guide to What in "Hell" is Bad?
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
Last Updated: Oct 30, 2023
I have a mild love of documentation (okay, it’s a problem) and I find it fun— so here we go! I’ve hopefully written out most of the options you’ll encounter while playing, as I know it’s been a confusing start with the game coming out in the state that it did.
And let’s be real here, most gacha-style games can feel overwhelming at first, especially if you’re new to them overall. It happens, and with all the questions I’ve seen floating about, I wanted to maybe help someone out, as well as have some fun. Or this’ll flop, either way, still fun.
There will absolutely be things I’ve missed, or glossed over— or even gotten wrong— so feel free to ask about anything, tell me things, or correct me.
For full transparency— I have spent money on this game, but I have not “whaled” whatsoever. I wanted to test certain things, and I have a strong sense of curiousity.
Looking for another part of the game? Check out the other parts:
Part 1 - General Overview, Achievements and Contracts
Part 2 - My Devils, Levelling, Skills and Artifacts
Part 3 - Chapters, Levels and Dark Sanctuary
Part 4 - Unit Types, Elements, Battle Boards & Battle Tips
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 6 - You Are Here!
What is the Secret Club?
Tumblr media
The secret club is where you can give some extra attention to your L-Grade devils! They are the only ones you’ll find here, and there’s a couple things that we can do.
From here you can access or view:
Unholy Board - Extra benefits for your devils, we’ll touch on this in a bit
Ero Lv. - This goes up the more you adore your devils
Icons of Actions - Below the exp bar there’s four circular icons, showing how often you’ve used actions in those categories during Adore
Chibi - A little chibi of the L-Grade Devil (there’s a reason it’s here, I’ll show you soon)
Devil Select - Scroll through your L-Grade Devils— you have to have them to adore them!
Adore - Costs 15AP, but is quite an interesting interaction…
Let’s look at “Adore”
It’s a bit more than adoration, and I don’t recommend having your volume on while playing this if you’re in earshot of anyone who may think you’re listening to something a bit less… tame. These boys are vocal!
The game is going to ask you to do this at least once daily within your achievements— and you’ll also find the Unholy Board sometimes asks for it as well.
Tumblr media
While adoring your chosen devil, you’ll be brought to an interaction screen.
What can you do here?
This is where you can touch your chosen devil in various ways.
On the left side you’ll have a close up of your devil’s face (in this case Mammon), his expressions are going to change as you ‘adore’ him.
On the right there’s a bit more to do— let’s take a look.
Two bars (empty and black above) towards the middle of the screen — these are what you want to fill, however you only want the right one to fill completely. It shows as blue as it fills in most reactions, and the left shows red
White Circles — These circles come off of certain areas of your devil, depending on what action you have selected. These are the interactive areas, tap on one to see what reaction he gives!
Circular Action Icons — These will show you your options for interacting, click on the circles for more options within them— some are locked, though! We’ll get to how to unlock more options when we cover the Unholy Board
Reactions? Bars?
Tumblr media
Reactions
Indeed! Depending on where you touch, there’s two different things you’ll see.
Regular - The bars will fill with red and blue respectively
Rainbow (shown above) - The bars will both fill with a ‘rainbow’ reaction— this is the good spot, apparently! Finding this reaction will reward you with items as you fill the bars (not letting the bars fill entirely will allow you to continue getting items, if you want). It’s not a ton of rewards, but it’s something!
Wait— what about the bars? What?
Right, right, that’s important, actually!
You do not want to fill the bar on the left, ever. This bar fills faster than the right one (which is why it’s more filled in the screenshot), but filling it will not satisfy your devil. You want to tap intermittently to steadily fill the RIGHT bar, which fills significantly slower.
Completely fill the bar on the right and your devil will be satisfied.
Once again, I sincerely do not recommend having your volume on when using this function if you’re around people you’re not comfortable with hearing some risqué voices.
Basically— look for the rainbow reaction, and enjoy adoring your devil.
Hang on!! I can’t use this with people around??! Look at him!!
PrettyBusy thought of that, too! If you’re not in an area you want to be looking at a devil in all his glory then click the three-lined icon in the top-right corner and select the icon that has a “12” on it.
You’ll get his little chibi I mentioned, instead!
Tumblr media
The screen is much more simple, but hey at least you can do it around people, right?
Secret Club - Unholy Board
Tumblr media
Each L-Grade devil comes with his own Unholy Board, which gives him some benefits as well as unlocks some nice story or additional actions for you! It’s essentially a skill tree, with different requirements per node. It’s really simple, thankfully! When you’ve accomplished something, you’ll get a little notification (but it won’t tell you which devils board it was on…).
What does it want from me?
It will ask for things like:
Win a battle with this character participating x times
Enter x amount of Pure Gold
Achieve Ultimate/Skill level x
Satisfy this character in Secret Club (Adore) x times
Enter x amount of [Promotion Material] (Varies)
Reach x level
Promote character
Use the shop x times
Defeat a boss monster in Dark Sanctuary x times
There may be more, however this encompasses most of what you’ll find, especially early on (I have not completed my devils skill trees at the time of writing this).
Okay… what does it give me?
Oh! This is easy, mostly it gives your devil benefits, but I’ll some things out for you. (Once again, this list may not be every single reward you may find.)
Increasing a stat
Decrease DMG taken from a certain attribute
Acquire Story— a special story for your L-Grade Devil, you’ll unlock it over the course of his Unholy Board
Adore Actions— unlock new actions to use during adore such as Slap, Holding Horn & Shake, etc
Increase skill duration — at least of passive skills
It’s honestly worth it to pick away at it as you can— L-Grade devils are worth the effort, given how strong they are. Increasing their stats or resistances is always worth it— plus, getting a unique story for them, and more actions for adore is worth it, too.
Hell-Oh! Talk
This is just a simple chat functionality where devils will send you messages from time to time. You’ll usually receive three over the course of a day from one devil.
Tumblr media
Like most text messages, you get a little notification saying who it’s from, and the start of the message itself. You can either click “Go” to follow it immediately, or access it later by selecting Hell-Oh! Talk on the Home Screen.
Once you do, you’ll see a list of all the messages you’ve received— find the one that says “You have a new message” and you’ll begin the conversation. These are always short and sweet— so they won’t take you long at all. Typically you’re also able to send a response to the first part of the message.
Tumblr media
Once you reply they’ll finish what they want to say, influenced by your response. Once complete, you’ll get a single Guilty Gem— but hey, some of their messages are honestly very cute, like Leraye just being so happy to have the ability to message you.
(Ignore Leviathan and his angry emoji, he’s fine.)
I honestly really love seeing who’ll be texting each day.
Oh! You can also see their profiles.
By selecting horned devil icon on the left hand side, above the chat one, you can see their very simple profiles. Just their icon, status message and number of exchanged messages with you!
Tumblr media
If they’re your devil of the day, there will also be a bar along the bottom telling you a rough estimate of when to expect their messages.
And that’s that! Wow, finally reached the end of Part 6! Originally I was going to include an item list in a Part 7… but I wasn’t sure if that was really needed. Is there anything else I should touch on? Devils, individual artifacts, items, I thought of them, but wasn’t sure if they’d be overall useful.
Hopefully all this helped someone out!

A (Hopefully) Helpful Guide to What in "Hell" is Bad?
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 5 - You Are Here!
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
The Shop — What’s in it?
Tumblr media
As with most mobile games, the shop has a lot of options— I’m going to go over them here, but I’m not going to list each individual item found. The item list in Part 7 will go over any items I’ve come across in more detail.
Disclaimer: Please spend responsibly. Nothing that costs real money is necessary to enjoy this game, and I am not listing these out to entice you (nor am I in anyway associated with PrettyBusy lol), it’s just to let you know what’s there and what to expect.
Exchange Guilty Gem
This is where you can exchange your Guilty Gems (Cash) for the red Guilty Gems we’re more familiar with. The blue Guilty Gems are only available for purchase, and can be exchanged here for their “Free” counterpart in this first area of the shop— it’s the page you’ll open to!
Purchase Guilty Gem
This where you purchase the blue Guilty Gems (Cash) for real money— please spend wisely if you choose to do so! They range from $2.79 for a “Handful of Guilty Gems” (40) to $154.99 for a “Guilty Gem Mountain” (2167 Guilty Gem (Cash) + 650 Guilty Gem (Free)).
Purchasing these is not necessary to enjoy the game, I promise. I actually haven’t at all touched this area of the shop.
Package
Tumblr media
This is a large subsection of the Shop, with a lot to look at too. These are packages or monthly subscriptions you can purchase for real money. They’re usually limited on how many times you can purchase them, whether overall, monthly or daily. These were once obtusely overpriced, but they’ve been altered since launch.
I won’t list out every option— because I’m sure the packages will change regularly, but I will make note of the Monthly Supplies that are available — essentially three subscriptions. These subscriptions last for 28 Days and need to manually be collected each day once purchased.
Guilty Gem Monthly Supply
Guilty Gem (Cash) - 157 (ONCE upon purchase)
Guilty Gem (Free) - 30 Daily
Action Power - 120 Daily
Contract Monthly Supply
Guilty Gem (Cash) - 157 (ONCE upon purchase)
Guilty Gem (Free) - 10 Daily
Greater Keys of Solomon - 5 Daily
Development Monthly Supply
Guilty Gem (Cash) - 110 (ONCE upon purchase)
Guilty Gem (Free) - 10 Daily
Strawberry Chocolate Friendship Pretzel - 3 Daily
In all honesty, they’re not that worth it, so don’t feel like you need these, either. It’s good to support PrettyBusy if that’s something you want to do, though, but just know it’s not required to enjoy the game at all.
I primarily wanted to bring these subscriptions up because of the manual collection requirement— it’s easy to forget since they’re tucked away and there’s no reminder.
Exchange House
Tumblr media
Another area of the shop with multiple subsections— these ones, though are more interesting, and are from items you can naturally accrue in the game (with a couple exceptions).
A lot of these have some similar items in common, just for a different currency— here’s what you can usually find in here overall:
Tears of Solomon
Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon
Action Power
Pure Gold & Crowley’s Books
Various promotion materials
Skill improvement materials
Artifact Enhancement Stones
Nightmare Candies
Guilty Gem Exchange House
Note: The free daily present you can find in here counts towards the daily achievement of purchasing something from the shop once!
Yep, this is different than “Exchange Guilty Gem”!
This is using our pretty Guilty Gems (Free) to get in game items. There are a couple packages locked to Guilty Gem (Cash), but not many.
There are unlimited purchases, daily purchases and weekly purchases found within this section. There’s also an “account limit” and a Monthly Limit on some of the (Cash) bundles.
Pancake Exchange House
This is where you’ll exchange the Snickering Pancake item you get when trading in your extra tealeaves from your inventory (getting to that below!). Essentially, if you get a devil more than once, you’re given tealeaves from the second time onward, and you can use these tealeaves to Evolve a devil up to five times. After that though— well, you sell them! I’ll get to the how later, but once you have them you can come to the Pancake exchange to get some items here. Including 30 Lesser Keys daily, if you’ve got the pancakes for it!
(You can also get pancakes from selling artifacts, but early on especially I’d recommend using your artifacts to enhance and evolve the artifacts you want to use.)
Pretzel Exchange House
I’ve yet to find a good source for these, so this will be brief and updated once I have a more solid idea. I’ve primarily gotten mine from rewards or the Secret Club with the rainbow reactions. However, if you’ve got them— spend ‘em here!
Necronomicon Exchange House
Necronomicons are received upon completion of most Dark Sanctuary levels— and here’s where you can use them. Including up to 30 Solomon’s Tears per week. They can take a little to build up, but it’s a worth it shop to visit when you have some.
Event Exchange House
Special temporary shops that appear with events, and use the event specific currency— grind the event, reap the rewards! There is event specific items such as special voice lines or stickers also available. But remember, time is of the essence here, as it won’t be there long.
Passes
Within the shop there’s also various passes— they’re not a store, you don’t buy things from them, but they’re very useful to keep an eye on! Essentially as you progress through the game there’s rewards that can be found and claimed here. The game’s not very transparent about letting you know about these.
Mission Pass
Tumblr media
This is a pretty big one, with a new set of goals unlocked each day for 14 Days however there’s no time limit to finish it. There’s a lot of rewards (along the bottom) as you accumulate points, usually a random amount of Lesser/Greater Keys.
At the end you get 500 Greater Keys and a copy of Sitri!
Solomon’s Levelup Support Pass
Tumblr media
Note: In order to unlock the second column “Special Reward” there is a price to it. It was lowered since the beginning of the game.
These are rewards for your account growth, meaning as you level up your account you’ll receive bonuses here— including things like Solomon’s Tears. Some level milestones are more exciting than others, though. Still worth it to make sure you go and claim it!
Devil Growth Support Pass
Tumblr media
Note: In order to unlock the second column “Special Reward” there is a price to it. It was lowered since the beginning of the game.
Rather than your account, this time it’s milestones for your devils (or, really, the first devil to reach any of them, it doesn’t matter if it’s the same devil or a different one)! As you reach these milestones you’ll get some nice rewards that will help you enhance your devils, or give you some Guilty Gems to spend in the shop!
Secret Shop
Tumblr media
This shop is … well, a secret. I’ve gotten it twice in my time playing since launch, and I have yet to learn how to trigger it. You’ll know when you have it— a large purple portal will open on your Home Screen, and there’s some unique and rarer items tucked away within it— including the ability to buy an L-Grade Devil once per month for a hefty price tag of Guilty Gems (Free).
Tumblr media
That said, I’ll have to add more details here when I get it again— at the time, this guide wasn’t even a thought yet!
Inventory
Tumblr media
Note: If you want to see details of an item, simply tap it in this menu.
All the items you accumulate can be found, and used if applicable, here. Again, I’m not going into individual item details here, but I’ll explain what each pocket of your inventory tucks away for you.
Currency
This holds everything you can “spend” within the game. This includes from the shops, contracts, levelling, etc.
Material
The Materials tab, as it says, holds materials that you will use for levelling your devils. This includes things like the Solomon’s Tears, jellybeans, gummies, hallucination pies, etc. Anything you need to level your devils ends up in here.
Box
Here you’ll find items that you can open— they vary in what exactly is within them. Most times they’re given as rewards for various things— especially from Dark Sanctuary. Make sure to see what you have in here!
There will be two types of “chest” or box that you can open.
Random - This will give you a random type and/or amount of an item depending on what it contains (i.e. type of jellybean, amount of Pure Gold)
Choice - Choose what type of material you receive — these always contain materials for your devils, and you select the type
I do suggest leaving any that say “Choice” alone until you reach a point that you need something specific, though! But make sure to take a look if you weren’t aware of these— the pure gold and Crowley’s books can really build up.
Inventory Management
Tumblr media
This is one of the more vague functions found in the game— unfortunate, because getting those snickering pancakes requires you to sell off some items when you can. It’s pretty simple once you know, though— so here’s what to look for.
When you’re on tealeaves (or artifacts, though I don’t recommend selling those) click “Organize” on the right side by sort. This will make the Auto-Select and Sell buttons appear as you see above.
For Tealeaves you can click auto-select and it will automatically select devils’ tealeaves you you have already maxed out, meaning you don’t need to try to remember who you’ve got fully evolved or not. This is why Minhyeok and the A-Grade devil above aren’t selected.
Here’s what you’ll get in pancakes from each grade:
B Grade - 5 Pancakes
A Grade - 10 Pancakes
A+ Grade - 20 Pancakes
S Grade - 80 Pancakes
L Grade - 100 Pancakes
You can also do the exact same thing on the artifact screen. HOWEVER, artifacts will just SELECT EVERYTHING. There is no limitations like you’ll find on tealeaves— so be sure to only select artifacts you’re willing to part with. As I mentioned above, I don’t really recommend selling these over using them as fodder for levelling and evolving other artifacts. Maybe late game, but for early game I’d say don’t.
In Part 6 we’ll cover the Secret Club and Hell-Oh! Talk! (Woo, almost done!)

Part 4 - You Are Here!
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
Now, let's keep going!
Battle - Unit Types
We talked about it before when looking at the "My Devil" screen (very briefly), but each devil has it's own style of fighting and element applicable to it.
For all units, always look at their normal attacks and ultimates (passives as well if applicable) before levelling them or putting them on the field. You’d be surprised what some of them can do.
Types of Units
Tumblr media
Defense
Devils: Mammon (Selfie) (L), Bimet (S), Valefor (A+), Eligos (A+), Undertaker (A), Caine (A), John Cena (B), Booker T (B), Rob Van Dam (B),
These units are the bulky boys of the game-- the best example being Mammon (Selfie).
These units are intended for longevity on the battlefield, being bulkier than other units with their health
They also stop multiple enemies-- typically 3 at once, whereas other units can usually only stop one
They have a small range-- usually 3x3
Keep an eye on their health— bulk doesn’t mean invulnerable, especially if you’re fighting stronger enemies
Close-Range
Devils: Beelzebub (Selfie) (L), Naberius (S), Amon (S), Bael (S), Dantalian (S), Stolas (A+), Gusion (A+), Bathin (A+), Phenix (A+), Renové (A+), Toto (A), Max (A), Bella (A), Leo (A), Molly (A), Gaejuki (A), Harumon (A), Bob Marley (B), Lucy (B), Bailey (B), Urupapa (B),
These are DPS devils, attack-based units that require the enemy to be up close and personal.
Depending on the devil, can be a little squishy, so it's best to let them hide behind defense devils, or to the side, if you're a little under leveled
Small range, usually 3x3 but can be a little larger
Usually these can only stop 1 enemy at a time
Marksman
Devils: Leviathan (Selfie) (L), Leviathan (Bath) (L), Satan (Selfie) (L), Minhyeok (S), Paimon (S), Sitri (S), Leraye (S), Belial (S), Foras (S), Zagan (A+), Ppyong (A+), Astaroth (A+), Barbatos (A+), Glasyalabolas (A+), Ppang (A), Ppam (A), Ppungppung (A), Ppolppol (A), Ppyongppyong (A), Red Ragnarok (B), Nightslave (B), Fishball (B), Darkness Weapon (B), Oni (B)
The long-range units! These boys will pick away at the enemies from a distance. Very squishy— keep them safe.
Their range varies more widely than the other types in the game, but are always good to have in the back or to the side of a lineup
Some like Belial and Leraye have very long ranges, while some like the Leviathans are a bit shorter— make sure to look at their respective ranges when you’re selecting them for the field!
I said it above, but keep them out of harms way, as they can be taken out with relative ease— especially if they’re under leveled
Healer
Devils: Marbas (S), Morax (A+), Buer (A+)
These are the boys’ who’ll help keep you alive— but there’s certain ways to use them to make them actually valuable. There’s limitations to what they can do, and often damage can outweigh the minimal health they give without finding ways to utilize them.
As you can see, there aren’t many healers in the game at all yet, and they vary pretty widely in what they can do
In many cases, you probably won’t use your healers… the numbers they give back to you are quite minimal compared to the damage enemies do— but they’re not entirely useless
If you’re pacing the enemies and allowing your healers time to do their work, they can be pretty beneficial
Be sure to look at their range of attacks, too— and keep in mind that Marbas cannot attack at all! (In exchange though he constantly heals in a small area that moves with him, and his ult that releases it charges very quickly and you need only use it once)
Battle - Elements
Tumblr media
I’ll be very honest here— I don’t pay that much mind to these, and usually battles go pretty smoothly. That said, my team is mostly the Light element, so that might have something to do with it.
But, here we go! Good old fashioned strengths and weaknesses— think Pokémon, but incredibly simplified.
Each element has a weakness and a strength— pitting a weaker element against the stronger means your devils are gonna be in for a time.
What are the elements in WHB?
The available elements currently are: Fire, Water, Grass, Light & Dark(?)
There are currently no units available for “Dark” so I can’t double check— I’ll update that when I can or if someone can let me know what it’s meant to be called. Regardless of it’s name, we can still take a look at what it does!
It’s pretty basic—
Water is strong against Fire
Fire is strong against Grass
Grass is strong against Water
The edge cases are Light and “Dark”— as they are strong against one another, and neutral against the other elements.
I’d love to say if you’re having a hard time in a level just try changing your elemental lineup, but in the early game that can be difficult. Eventually level 20s will be too squishy to survive or deal enough damage to be useful, and promoting them is costly. That said— you can get through a good chunk of the game with all level 20s with one level 40.
Battle - Battle Boards
There is a wide array of gridded “boards” that your battles will take place on— all with their own limitations and paths, so I won’t cover every variation here. However these can be divided into three overall “categories.”
Story Battles
Story Boss Monster Battles
Dark Sanctuary Battles
They all have similarities, though, so lets go over the basics. When you enter a battle, you’ll be shown the map layout and a list of your devils along the left side— you can select six of these devils to go to war for you. You can choose to only see certain rarities or just supports during your selection, but there’s no other ways to sort them— so you’ll need to scroll through each time.
Tumblr media
Note: To see your stats like I am in the screenshot above, just press and hold on the devil you want to see the details of!
What can you view right off the bat?
Stage Number - The name/number of the stage you’re currently on (4-50, indicating I’m in Chapter 4 Level 50)
Angel Wing Icon - How many angels you’re dealing with in this stage. Each level will vary (39 in this case)
Heart Icon - That’s that big red heart’s on the left’s health — that indicates you! If three angels touch this, you lose
Paw Print Icon - This indicates how many times you may move your devils once the level has begun — you don’t need to worry about it during the setup phase seen above, but keep an eye on it once the battle starts and you begin to move around as needed!
x1 / x2 Icon - Your current battle speed— angels move slow, and on levels your confident speeding them up is definitely nice. Just tap it to do so. Tap it again to return to x1, if you’re feeling overwhelmed
Pause Icon - Pause the level!
Door Icon - Leave the level
Devil Select List - A list of all your devils (press and hold to see details), drag and drop up to six of them to fight for you! You can only narrow down by rarity and support, so you’ll need to scroll each time
Let’s Roll Button - Start the level! You’ll be warned if your devil count is below six, but you can still start if you want to
Okay, wait, huh? What do I do?
Basically, you’re going to drag and drop six of your devils onto the grid— sometimes, a square may not be allowed, and it won’t let you, so you’ll need to select another one (this can be frustrating).
If you’ve beaten the level once, it’ll remember your team for the next time.
Tumblr media
As you drag your devils onto the board, you’ll be shown their range of attack— keep that in mind! Place your units carefully to support one another, and keeping your squishy units out of harm’s way.
If you change your mind about a devil, drag them down to the blue area in the lower right, and it will take them off.
Okay, good to know. What should I expect from these maps?
That depends on what board you’re on, and differs per level. Let’s delve into those three board “types” I mentioned earlier.
Story Battles
Tumblr media
These are the battles you’ll be undertaking between actual story. The maps vary widely, but tend to be the same for at least a few in a row before changing again.
Keep an eye on where the spawn points are— remember, enemies come in waves, and not all at once
Boss Monster Battles
Tumblr media
Note: The bosses can obscure spawn points for small enemies! Be aware that what you see may not be all of it and don’t be surprised if suddenly an enemy comes out from under or beside it.
Welcome to the big boys— these stages have large enemies just like the Dark Sanctuary, with big AOE or wide-scale attacks (usually). Alongside them will be normal enemies, but in exchange for the big-bad, you won’t have to deal with the hoards you usually see in the regular levels.
Dark Sanctuary Battles
Tumblr media
Note: Just like Boss Monsters— these guys can obscure spawn points. Be mindful! Actually, they can be worse for it (I mean look at that tentacled behemoth)!
These are very similar to Boss Monster Stages— but this is all that Dark Sanctuary is. At lower levels it will just be the boss monster, but as you go up in difficulty it will add in the normal enemies as well— be careful!
What happens if I lose? Or if I want to quit?
Nothing! As of right now, there’s no real repercussions. If you lose or quit a level, you don’t even lose AP— so try all you like.
What about enemies? Anything to say about them?
I’m not going to breakdown each individual enemy (unless you guys want me to, in which I can create a new part, I guess), but here’s a few things to keep in mind.
Each enemy model has three variations: white, red and black, and the colours represent (I believe anyway) the difficulty of the creature
Each enemy has a range! Some, like the slime-like-blobs, need to be right on your devil to do damage, but many have a further range and they can be difficult to deal with (especially with the moving devils glitch that’s currently in the game)
They tend to come out in batches of certain enemy types — i.e. if you see one slime, chances are there’s another one or two behind it (or more), before the enemy type will switch again from that spawn point (it’s not a set in stone rule, though!)
Enemies spawn spaced out from one another, usually when the one on the field is 3-4 squares away from the spawn point, but this varies
Enemies have elements, too— hence the triangle of weaknesses we talked about earlier
Battle - Ultimates, Tips & Tricks
Let’s start at square one - Ultimates
Each devil has an ultimate move that takes time to be able to use— it will build through the battle beside their icon at the bottom—the purple bar beside their health— and the icon will glow when they’re fully charged up.
Tumblr media
When you want to use them, tap their icon— this will slow time for you so you can aim— and you can see a crown above their icon along with a magnifying glass. The magnifying glass will explain what their ultimate will do if you don’t already know— but to use their ult you tap and hold on the crown, then drag it onto the battlefield to see its range of effect. Let go to use it!
The enemies in range will be brighter than those out of range. Once you’ve let go, you’ll see a little animation and hear a voice line before the ultimate hits the field!
Tumblr media
Note: Don’t actually use Leviathan’s ult on a single enemy if you can help it— stun it, build them up by keeping a distance. He’s got such a wide range you may as well take out as many as you can.
You can cancel using your ultimate by dragging it down to the blue area in the bottom right!
Battle - Tips & Tricks
Okay, here’s a couple things I’ve found help, or that I tend to use while I’m playing— hopefully they help! Some are probably obvious, but you never know.
Don’t stress about ‘Required Levels’ that the stages tell you— often you can with with lower levelled units despite the recommendation, play around with placement and see what happens
Don’t spam your ultimates as soon as you get them! Especially with units that stun (Belial and Mammon for example)— it can be pivotal in a harder fight to give yourself a moment to breathe
I actually can’t recommend stunning enemies enough, it helps so much with grouping up enemies and giving your units time to recover health if you want to go that route
Try to aim to hit as many enemies as possible per ultimate (if applicable) — I usually aim to have 3 or 4 enemies within range at least before using ultimates such as Leviathan’s (stun is also good for this, keeping them grouped up)
If you want to bring a healer, I recommend Marbas or Morax over Buer— but honestly bring who you like— but keep in mind you NEED to give your devils space between enemies for them to be helpful at all— healers are SLOW at healing, and give MINIMAL health back so if you’re swarmed with enemies, they just can’t keep up
I actually use Marbas, despite that he can’t attack. I rotate who’s in his AoE and move him as needed flipping who’s under fire and allowing the others to recover with his constant healing
Crowd control ultimates are beyond helpful— getting rid of large amounts at once can save your battle if you’re in a tougher level
Don’t be right on a spawn point if you can help it (sometimes it’s just not easy to avoid), give your range units time to pick away at health bars before they reach your close range/defence units to save them from losing too much health
Ranged enemies are ANNOYING— get rid of them asap. They probably won’t be as bad when we can freely move our units without risk of breaking the level (see below)
This may eventually be patched out, but right now after the battle begins you can often move your units to spaces that were designated as unavailable during the devil selection— and I utilize it as much as I can— being able to place units wherever is incredibly helpful
IMPORTANT! Be extremely careful right now when moving your characters around— there’s currently a glitch that causes them not to move properly, and leave an invisible phantom of themselves where they once were.
This causes issues like:
Accidentally swapping your characters when you move one to where another once was, eating up your limited movements to fix it
If your units DIE while in this state, the enemies will glitch out and soft lock the level, forcing you to start it over
In Part 5 we’ll over the Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management!

A (Hopefully) Helpful Guide to What in "Hell" is Bad?
Part 3 - Chapters, Levels and Dark Sanctuary
Part 3 - You Are Here!
Part 4 - Unit Types, Elements, Battle Boards & Battle Tips
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
Now, let's continue!
Go to Hell - Chapters
Tumblr media
When you select “Go to Hell” or “Story” you’ll be taken to the Chapter Select screen— this is where the story is! And where all those H-Scenes we’re all itching for (the depraved sinners we are), are hidden away in.
You must complete all levels in a chapter to unlock the next— but you do not need to clear every level perfectly
This means you also need to at least open all sub-stories, too, in order to unlock the next chapter
I recommend reading them— there’s actually a lot of little nuances learned in some of them, especially the chats which are very information heavy, but you can also skip any story scenes using the menu in the top right corner
Once completed, the chains will be removed from the next chapter, allowing you to continue
Easy, right? Let’s take a look at the actual level select.
Go to Hell - Story and Battle Levels
Tumblr media
Here’s what we’re all here for (outside of collecting sexy devils)— the story. Once you’ve selected your chapter, you’ll find a long line of levels contained within.
Types of Levels
Story - These are simply levels that continue the story from where you last left off. These cost no AP to read— so feel free to go back whenever you’d like
Battle - Usually around 5-6 placed between each story level, these are where your units are put to the test! We’ll talk about these more soon. They have a varying AP cost that grows per chapter
What the heck are these sub-story things?
They’re additional story— and these have indicators of what you can expect within them.
MH Sub-Stories - These follow our human buddy, left behind and waiting for us— Minhyeok! I won’t spoil what exactly goes on in these, but the poor boy is often very embarrassed. Such a loyal guy!
CHAT Sub-Stories - These are text-talks, usually with Sitri and Ppyong but they’ll bring others in here and there— the text moves fast, though! You may need to scroll back up to read what the heck was even said once it’s over
H Sub-Stories - These are what the sinners are looking for, the ones who want to see what the devils want to do to MC— these tend to be given in the order you meet the devils themselves, at least so far, so you can have an idea of who is in it before you get there
Each level that you complete will unlock the next, just like we saw on the chapter screen.
Level Requirements & Rewards
Tumblr media
When you tap on a battle level, you’ll be shown some details about it before you actually enter.
Recommended Elements - Each level has devil elements that are more favourable to bring, and they let you know before you enter— sometimes it does make a difference, if you’re challenging a level with a higher requirement than your current team
Obtainable Rewards - I’ll touch on these in a moment, but they’re visible along the bottom, just above the “Let me in!” Button
Level ‘Requirement’ - This is the level they suggest your team to be at to beat this level— often I’ve ignored these and tried anyway, to positive results. As long as you try, there’s a good chance you’ll get through it if you’re strategic enough— but we’ll get to that
Level Cost - Each level has an AP cost, and it raises as the levels rise in difficulty (usually per chapter)
Okay, I want the rewards!
Each level varies with rewards given, with higher difficulty levels obviously giving better rewards.
There are three types of reward given!
Repeatable Reward - Rewards that will be given each time you complete a level, if you so choose (usually this is Pure Gold and Crowley’s Books, but sometimes there is things like candy boxes and other useful items)
First-Clear Reward - Usually Guilty Gems, but this reward is only given once!
Perfect-Clear Reward - Another that’s only given once, and again typically Guilty Gems, but you’ll only get it if you perfectly clear it— meaning none of your devils died in the battle!
How do you know if you've cleared a level perfectly?
You can see a "P" pinned to the level, indicating it's already complete so you don't need to click to view it. If there's no "P" pinned, it means when you first completed that level, unfortunately one or more of your devils didn't survive!
Dark Sanctuary
Tumblr media
This place is where I personally spend most of my AP— and where you’ll grind for various items.
In the Dark Sanctuary, no matter what items you’re after, you’ll be fighting large bosses (with additional enemies at higher difficulties). I’ll cover what to expect from these in the Battle Section(s).
Portal for Jelly
This option is for the Promotion material(s) we saw during our delve into devil management, for each element.
Each Type is opened at different times— so one day the element you need may not be available, but there’ll be an indicator of when it’ll be open next
Each Element is separated into three difficulties - Easy, Normal and Hard (with three levels in each), and you’ll find varied rewards between them. You can see the rewards in the top-left corner when you select them, but let’s list them out here.
Remember, the type you get is based on the element that is currently opened and that you’ve selected!
Tumblr media
You can see the amount you will receive of the primary drop (the food) under the level icon itself. (I.e. Normal lvl1 will give you 2 gummies, lvl2 giving 3 gummies, etc.)
Easy
Chewy Devil Jellybean
Random Devil Jellybean Chest (Starting at the second level of the difficulty!)
Necronomicons
Normal
Only available once all Easy levels are complete!
Squashy Devil Gummy
Random Devil Gummy Chest
Necronomicons
Hard
Only available once all Normal levels are complete!
Bouncy Devil Pudding
Random Bouncy Devil Pudding Chest
Necronomicons
Jellybeans/Gummies/Puddings are used for promoting your devils, or unlocking nodes on the Unholy Board (we’ll get there). The random chests will give you additional of the item in a random element when used.
Necronomicons we’ll get to when we talk about the shop! But trust me, they’re good to stock up on.
Portal for Pure Gold
Tumblr media
Like it says, this is where we’ll grind for Pure Gold. It’s a lot more straight forward than the Jellies— because you’ll always be getting Pure Gold, just more of it.
Once again, you’ll need to complete each level before being allowed to move onto the next difficulty.
Just like with the “food” items, you can see how much Pure Gold you’ll receive upon completion just below the icon for the level you’re selecting.
Available Items
Pure Gold
Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Pure Gold Chest (Will give you a random amount of Pure Gold when used)
Necronomicons
That’s about it! Much more simple than Jelly— this is where you grind for Pure Gold, and that’s that!
Portal for the Magic Book of Crowley
Tumblr media
Just like Pure Gold— this is just for grinding the one singular item, this time, books! Just beat the levels in order to unlock higher difficulties.
Available Items
Magic Book of Crowley
Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Crowley’s Magic Book Chest (Will give you a random amount of Magic Books when used)
Necronomicons
Just like with the “food” items, you can see how many Magic Books of Crowley you’ll receive upon completion just below the icon for the level you’re selecting.
???
TBA! Once I can even get into it!
Next, in Part 4, we'll start to delve more into the battle mechanics!

A (Hopefully) Helpful Guide to What in "Hell" is Bad?
Part 2 - My Devils, Levelling, Skills, and Artifacts
Last Updated: Nov 2, 2023
I have a mild love of documentation (okay, it’s a problem) and I find it fun— so here we go! I’ve hopefully written out most of the options you’ll encounter while playing, as I know it’s been a confusing start with the game coming out in the state that it did.

For full transparency— I have spent money on this game, but I have not “whaled” whatsoever. I wanted to test certain things, and I have a strong sense of curiousity.
Looking for another part of the game? Check out the other parts:
Part 1 - General Overview, Achievements and Contracts
Part 2 - You Are Here!
Part 3 - Chapters, Levels and Dark Sanctuary
Part 4 - Unit Types, Elements, Battle Boards & Battle Tips
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
Now, let's continue!
My Devils - General
For now, lets start with a general overview of the options you have— because there’s quite a few. We’ll delve more into levelling and upgrades soon. There’s a lot going on here, so I’ll give a brief explanation.
Tumblr media
Information - Left Side
Name of the Devil (L-Grade devils tend to have an indicative word of the pose or version of them, as there will be multiple of them going forward)
Paraphilia - What gets that devil going
A brief explanation of who they are
The upside down crosses represent how many duplicates you’ve used to Evolve them (in this case, I’ve gotten four additional copies of Beelzebub)
Their rank and their current level
Their type— Light, fire, water, etc
Their range/style of fighting — in Beelzebub’s case he’s close range, but there’s others we’ll get to later when discussing battle
Stats — their current stats, such as attack, HP, their speed and how many enemies they are capable of blocking at once
Finally, icons that indicate their abilities— L-Grade’s have three of these, their normal attack, ultimate and a passive ability — we’ll elaborate soon
Information - Center
Floating next to the character is the artifact that’s currently equipped— if empty, the devil currently has none
The devil’s image
The first of the three square icons along the bottom, with the dripping heart, indicates the devils’ current affection/friendship level— this is raised by using them in battle (you unlock information, voice lines, comics, keys and tears through using them in battle)
The winking face will show you different expressions and voice lines as you unlock them through use
The magnifying glass will let you see their art fully, if applicable
Information - Right
In the top-right, you can use the options here to sort and choose to not show certain devil grades for ease of searching
A list of all devils you currently have, you can scroll through to see the information for each of them
A count of your devils out of all current devils available (for me 55/62)
They are ordered by rarity by default
Information - Bottom Options
Here’s where we’ll get into a lot more detail— I’m going to break these out into their own individual sections, so let’s get started!
My Devils - Raise
Tumblr media
There’s some duplicate information on the left; so I’m not going to run through that again.
One difference, though, is that it shows you what the devil’s stats/level will become when you upgrade them.
What do you need?
All items that are required can be found along the right-hand side of the Raise screen, for levelling it’s simply Pure Gold and Crowley’s Magic Books (don’t worry if you don’t know where to get these yet!)
It shows you the Amount Required / Amount Possessed (i.e. 1,765 Pure Gold is required, and I have 769,263)
You can’t level in bulk, so be prepared to click level up as many times as you need/can— you can interrupt them while they talk, though! (I don’t suggest levelling devils like Phenix with your volume on if you’re not alone… just a warning!)
I’ve reached a milestone! What do I do?
Congrats— you’ve reached the first step of promotion! I’ll use Sitri for this example, because he’s still at level 20 for me.
Tumblr media
To Promote a devil, it requires a bit more than just Gold and Books. Actually, it requires one of the most finite and slow resources you’ll find in WHB— Tears of Solomon!
It also requires a significant increase of Gold and Books— so you may need to do some grinding, but don’t worry I’ll tell you how soon if you don’t know. I’ll also talk about the items you find in this game further down.
You cannot continue to level until you promote your devil— and they will reach another milestone at 40, etc.
The costs will continue to raise as your devils get stronger. I highly suggest choosing a few to focus on, rather than attempting to do everyone at once.
Where do I find these items?
I'll be covering this in more detail when I reach these areas, but here's a basic breakdown.
Pure Gold - Completing levels, achievements, but primarily through Dark Sanctuary
Crowley's Books - Completing levels, achievements, but primarily through Dark Sanctuary
Tears of Solomon - Daily/Weekly Achievements, Daily Sign In Rewards, Shop, Various Mission Rewards (Look below for more details)
"Food" Item - Jellybeans, Gummies, Pudding-- you'll find all of these hidden away within the Dark Sanctuary
I seriously can’t find any Tears of Solomon?! Help?!
Don’t stress! As of the October 25, 2023 update, it’s not so bad anymore— additional ways have been added, and some limits have been upped. But here’s the main spots you’ll be finding these.
Guilty Gem Exchange House - 30 Per Day (Shop)
Pancake Exchange - 2 Per Week (Shop)
Necronomicon Exchange - 30 Per Week (Shop)
Daily Achievement - 1 Per Day
Weekly Achievement - 1 Per Week
96% “Affection” on your S-L Grade Devils - 10 per Devil
Mission Pass - 24 across various rewards
Event Shops - 30 per day (when available)
Daily Sign in - 24 over the course of 28 days
You can also get these from Solomon’s Levelup Support Pass in the shop— as it says, you get these rewards as you level up your account. There’s also a special premium reward for a price (if someone could remind me of how much this was, that’d be fantastic— I bought it after they lowered the price from the ridiculously high one they originally had).
Free Tears Rewards:
Level 10 - 5 Tears
Level 20 - 10 Tears
Level 30 - 10 Tears
Level 40 - 15 Tears
Level 50 - 20 Tears
Special Reward Pass Tears Rewards:
Level 15 - 5 Tears
Level 25 - 10 Tears
Level 35 - 10 Tears
Level 45 - 15 Tears
My Devils - Evolve
Tumblr media
Here’s where you can put your duplicate devils to use! If you’ve gotten multiple copies of the same devil, coming to this screen will allow you to use the “Tealeaves” you get from the duplicates.
You can only Evolve a devil up to 5 times
If you've gotten a devil 6 times total-- congrats, you've maxed out their evolution
The benefits you'll unlock are listed on the lower left-hand side
Once maxed out, it will still say "Insufficient Tealeaves" even if you have them-- I'm not sure why they didn't change the UI
What if I get them a 7th time?
Easy! Excess tealeaves can be sold from your inventory-- that's coming up soon, as it's not very clear.
That’s really all there is to it!
My Devils - Skill
Tumblr media
Hoo-boy, alright, here’s another place to use those Tears, gold, and another item we haven’t seen yet… but don’t worry, this isn’t something you need to worry about right away.
Getting skills to their third level is a good enough goal, at least when starting out.
Along the top of this screen you will see each skill a particular devil has available to it (the same you see indicated by icons on their information screen)
Tapping on one will switch your view to it, where you can view what it does, and level it up if you so choose
Most characters just have a basic attack and ultimate— but there’s some outliers
L-Grade devils also have an additional passive ability
And some odd characters, like Marbas, may only have one! (We just wheel him out and let him heal, it's fine)
But again, don’t stress about these quite yet— the game’s still new, we aren’t expected to have this all maxed out yet.
My Devils - Opinion
Tumblr media
I won’t really dwell on this one — there isn’t much to say. Here you can find community opinions on the devil! It will tell you how many people have given their opinion, and show you the opinions on the right hand side.
You can sort them by likes (popularity) or how new they are— up to you!
Artifacts
Tumblr media
These items you’ve gotten during your pulls in Contracts are essentially weapons for your devils— equipment that makes them stronger, and gives additional effects that can play a part during battle. Some are more useful than others, but reading what they can do is important.
Also, don’t be afraid to switch them up.
You can access your artifacts two ways— for now, we’ll focus on accessing them directly through the My Devils screen, so also explain equipping them.
How Do I Equip Artifacts?
Tumblr media
Right beside the image of your devil, to the left of him, will be a circular icon, tap it!
If it’s empty, it will immediately take you to select from artifacts you own
You can tap on any artifacts you’re interested in to read more about them, including a brief story-like description and the artifact’s effect during battle
Below the image of the artifact, it will tell you it’s current stats— how much attack and health it’s providing to the devil you’ll equip it to
How Do I Change Artifacts?
Tumblr media
Once you’ve equipped an artifact, it’ll show up in that same little circular icon beside them (with upside down crosses just like the devil— hint hint, they have the same mechanic)!
This time, it’ll bring up a menu that will show you your currently selected artifact, with its description, level and effect.
Below, you click the purple button labeled “Replace.” Now you’ll be taken to the same selection screen you encountered when selecting it to begin with.
How Do I Enhance Artifacts?
Tumblr media
The same as above, you’ll want to tap on that circular icon again, and this time click the purple button labeled “Enhance.”
This will take you to a similar select screen… but there’s a big difference.
Artifacts require other artifacts, or an item called “Artifact Enhancement Stone” to level up, along with Pure Gold
Using Artifact Enhancement Stones is cheaper— it requires less Pure Gold, but chances are you won’t have all that many of them. That’s okay!
We’ll feed the artifact other ones you don’t need or want to use, unfortunately that’s just the way it is
DON’T use copies of the same artifact to level it, though!
Levelling these can be expensive— so you may need to grind some Pure Gold
Example of Cost:
For me to level a level 1 artifact to level 10, using only B-Grade artifacts as fodder, it will cost me 16,000 Pure Gold— and it only escalates from there!
How do I get Artifact Enhancement Stones?
You can get these from the shop or achievements!
They aren’t all that hard to build up, so don’t waste resources in the shop unless you absolutely feel you need to
They provide some exp, but significantly less than regular artifacts (at least from my experience)
I Can’t Level My Artifact Anymore?! - Let’s Evolve it then!
Tumblr media
Yep, these also have milestones and caps just like devils— only it’s a lot less clearly indicated. Don’t worry if you didn’t understand what it wants from you, they don’t tell you well at all.
When an artifact is at its current max level, you need to select a copy of the same artifact to feed it. Once you do, you’ll be able to go back to levelling it until you reach the next cap, rinse and repeat!
That means, just like devils, you’ll need six copies of an artifact to “max” the evolution.
Unlike devils, though, its levelling is directly tied to it.
In Part 3, we'll cover Story and Dark Sanctuary!

A (Hopefully) Helpful Guide to What in "Hell" is Bad?
Part 1 - General Overview, Achievements and Contracts
Last Updated: Oct 31, 2023
Part 1 - You Are Here!
Part 2 - My Devils, Levelling, Skills and Artifacts
Part 3 - Chapters, Levels and Dark Sanctuary
Part 4 - Unit Types, Elements, Battle Boards & Battle Tips
Part 5 - Shop, Secret Shop, Inventory and Management
Part 6 - Secret Club (Adore), Secret Club (Unholy Board), Hell-Oh! Talk
Now, let's get started!
General - Home Screen
Tumblr media
We aren’t talking about the options you’ll see along the bottom of your Home Screen (where most of the gameplay is) here— that’s further down— but here we’ll talk about the other options you have available to you.
Profile Icon & Profile Options
The circular image in the top-left corner is your profile icon (mine is Belial)
It displays your character’s name (in my case, Aqua), and your accounts current level (19) as well as your chosen devil as your icon itself
This devil, as displayed above, can be different from the devil you display on the Home Screen as your companion
If you want to change your icon, click on the profile picture, and it will take you to a new screen, with a few more options
What can you do on this new screen?
Tumblr media
Note: the edit icons are very small, as you can see above. The little grey text boxes with the teeny pencils. Each of them corresponds to what they’re closest to, each of the following options is prefaced by clicking the corresponding edit icon.
Change which devil is your profile icon (Belial, in my case)
Change your character’s name and gender
View your current exp progress, and how far it is until your next level
Edit your personal message
Display your favourite devils in your showcase
Find and copy your UID (User ID)
Home Screen Devil
This is referring to the devil you see each time you sign in— in my case, Leraye, as seen above.
You can display your favourite devil on your Home Screen by clicking the small circular icon with a tiny Ppyong within it that is beside your profile picture, just beneath the time
You can only display devils that you’ve acquired
Tapping on your chosen devil will have them talk to you— silently, through chat bubbles for most, but L-Grade devils are voiced
L-Rank devils display with their full art, and can be moved around (so yes, you can display anywhere on them, up close and personal if you really want), but S-Rank and below just use their standard avatar
Action Power
A very necessary resource, and a staple you’ll find across most mobile games.
Action power (AP) is what allows you to challenge levels or bosses in Go to Hell Chapters or within Dark Sanctuary
The cost of each level typically increases with their difficulty— but that’s okay!
AP replenishes over real-time, with 1AP returning every 3 minutes
Additionally, the amount of AP you can hold at once before becoming maxed out will increase as your account levels (i.e. at level 19, I can have a max of 181AP)
Guilty Gems
Guilty Gems (the little red ones) are a fairly limited resource in WHB
They are used to buy items from the shop— however it’s best to save them for things like Lesser Keys of Solomon than anything else (1,980 Guilty Gems = 30 Lesser Keys)— but we’ll go over the shop more later
These are received from clearing story levels (additional given for perfecting them), Daily/Weekly/Overall Achievements, and a very minute amount from Hell-Oh! Chats
Announcements
This is essentially a link to a site from PrettyBusy, where they post information
It usually has to do with upcoming changes or warnings of maintenance— it’s good to take a look now and then!
Mail
Any items sent out by PrettyBusy will be sent here — such as maintenance apology items, etc
Items received from raising your affections with your devils will also show up here (we’ll touch on this more further down)
Top-Right Menu Button
Always available as long as you’re not in a level, and sometimes can save you from needing to go back to the Home Screen first! Let’s take a look at the options you’ll find, and where they take you.
“Character” Section
Lobby - Takes you back to your Home Screen
Story - Goes to the chapter select screen (the same as “Go to Hell”)
Dark Sanctuary - Go to the Dark Sanctuary and take on some boss battles for materials
Character - Takes you to where you can manage, upgrade and learn about the devils you’ve acquired (same as “My Devil”)
Album - Takes you to an album that will hold all the CGs that you’ve unlocked throughout the story, allowing you to see them without any text in the way and view them anytime (yes, including the H-Scenes)
Inventory - This is where all of your items will go to— and we’ll touch more on inventory further down
Collect - Takes you to a book that keeps track of all the devils you’ve gotten so far, and how many are currently available— there’s also rewards to be had here! When there’s a notification, be sure to go look
“Community” Section
SHOP - No, I don’t know why this is the only one in all caps, but regardless, this will take you to the shop (NOT the hidden one!)
Achievement - A screen you’ll be visiting quite often, and is talked about further down in more detail
Contract - Head on over and start making some contracts with devils to join your team
“Settings” Section
System - As in almost all games, brings you to a menu in which you see all the options you have available towards the settings of the app and your account
Volume control, notification controls, and account settings are all found here
Under your account you are able to logout, delete your account, etc
This is also where you’ll find a link to contact PrettyBusy, called ‘Inquire’ under your account settings
Achievements
Tumblr media
You’ll be getting lots of these as you play, and are the various sub goals within the game that give varying rewards. Also, yes, I’m cursing myself for forgetting to take a screenshot before finishing my dailies!
Types of Achievments
Daily - Achievements that refresh daily, and are the same each day, and it is heavily encouraged to at least sign in to do these (they don’t take long!)
Weekly - Goals that reset once per week (these do require regular sign in and completion of dailies)
Overall - Rewards given for various tasks throughout the game, such as satisfying your devils, levelling, level completion, upgrading artifacts, etc
What’s the Biggest Incentive?
The rewards given are quite small, but they add up as you continue to do them
It’s honestly just a staple of mobile games, to encourage you to come on regularly (like the daily sign-in reward, too)
However with the current state of WHB, this also gives you regular access to at least some Tears of Solomon (Hopefully this situation will become better after the next update)
You can get 1 Tears of Solomon per day by completing one of the daily goals, and another once per week— so that’s 8 Tears per week if you’re diligent, which means stronger devils on your team
Note: If you’re actively playing when the day rolls over (3pm UTC), you’ll receive your daily sign-in reward, but you’ll need to restart the app for the daily achievements to reset properly!
That’s about it for these simple goals— when you’re notified you’ve gotten one, be sure to go claim it! There’s some other reward systems we’ll get into later.
Contract - Let’s get some devils!
Tumblr media
This is where you obtain your devils, as well as your artifacts, all wrapped up into one. This is the most central part of the gacha experience— the gacha itself!
Note: From what I can see there is no existing pity system on the standard banners, at least not that’s publicly listed (i.e. if you pull x amount of times without pulling an L-Grade devil, you’re guaranteed to get one)
Costs of Summoning
To make a contract, you’ll need two particular items.
Greater Keys of Solomon (Lemegeton)
Though labeled “Greater” these golden keys are actually the common ones
However, despite being the more common and cheaper option— event pulls rely on these, making them quite important!
This ‘banner’ allows you one free summon daily
You will, however, need 50 of the Greater Keys per 10-pull, and 5 Keys per single pull
Lesser Keys of Solomon (Goetia)
These red keys are the rarer of the two, and ones you’ll want the most
At the beginning, I’d say don’t worry about being too stingy with using them, as getting some units will be beneficial to you— but you don’t need to worry about getting everyone
You will need 30 Lesser Keys per 10-pull, and 3 Keys per single pull
Okay, so what’s the difference, right? Why’s one rarer than the other— and why is there two at all?
The probabilities!
Each Devil and Artifact is labeled with a rarity, with the lowest being B-Grade. These ranks are, in order: B, A, A+, S and L.
Here’s the probabilities while using Greater Keys:
Tumblr media
And here are the probabilities while using Lesser Keys:
Tumblr media
While you have the same likelihood on each to pull a devil vs an artifact (51.50% to 48.50% respectively), there’s some big differences elsewhere.
The Benefits of Lesser Keys
As you can see, the pool itself is significantly smaller; you will not see B or A-Grade at all. This significantly raises the chances to see the rarer ones you may be looking for
L-Grade changes from 0.30% to 2.50% chance— that’s a pretty big jump
That said, you can absolutely still get rarer grades using Greater Keys! (I have pulled L-Grade devils from it!)
How Do I Know What I Got?
Outside of simply waiting to see, like most gachas there’s ways to tell if you may have gotten what you’re looking for before you even see the results!
The spotlights that occur when you pull will light up the king who’s legion you’re pulling from (i.e. if Satan lights up, you have a chance to get him or any devils/artifacts that relate to him, like Leraye, etc)
Additionally, the king(s) will sparkle once the light settles, and each colour can give you an indication of rarity!
Colour Indicators (Subject to Change):
Red Sparkle - B or A-Grade
Purple Sparkle - A+ or S-Grade
Gold Sparkle - L-Grade
Tumblr media
Note: The straw dolls represent unrevealed kings!
Also, if you get duplicates of your devils and artifacts— don’t worry, they aren’t going to waste! We’ll get to that soon.
Event Banners
Tumblr media
These are temporary banners that are available only for the duration of their applicable events.
These banners (at least so far) have a pity system, though it’s a somewhat demanding one— 150 pulls guarantees you who you’re looking for. Their chances overall are upped though!
Now that we have some new companions and artifacts, we’ll go look at the “My Devil” or “Character” screen, and what options you have there-- see you in Part 2!

What in “Hell” is Bad? - Event and Minhyeok
Tumblr media
I’m in the midst of writing out a larger overall game guide for WHB— because I have a love of documentation, I guess— and given that this is the first event, and first available Minhyeok, I wanted to also give this some attention and do this up for fun! I’ll be covering the event as a whole, as well as Minhyeok as a unit.
So, where do you get him? What does he take to get?
Tumblr media
He is available though his own unique banner that is available until Nov 8, 2023. The banner can be found were you would ordinarily pull, in the top right corner.
Available with higher rates through specified banner
Banner includes a pity system (though it’s quite steep at 150 pulls before guarantee)
His banner costs Greater Keys of Solomon not Lesser!
DO NOT pull on the regular Greater Keys banner— please be sure you click on his and it looks like the above image
This banner, as I said, is available until Nov 8, 2023
You can also pull his signature artifact “Minhyeok’s Warm Panties” from this banner (also S-Grade)
What’s the event?
Tumblr media
Head on over to this screen by clicking the icon that’s on your Home Screen in the upper right— this is where you’ll get started on the first ever WHB event!
We’re following Minhyeok himself as the MC, through some adventures in Hell and the events that lead to his strange appearance on his banner!
Let’s take a closer look at what we can do during his eventful stay in Hell.
Event Achievements (Missions)
Tumblr media
They’ve added an event specific achievements tab, where you can find all the event specific goals you can accomplish over the next 13 days.
Note: A lot of these require daily sign ins and grinding— they’re encouraging you to sink some time in!
What do they want us to do?
Most of these are accumulative goals— milestones as you work on these over the duration of the event.
Login Rewards
Read the event story
Clear event battles
Use the event exchange shop
User event currency
Use Action Power
Defeat Event Boss
What do they give us in return?
Action Power
Tears of Solomon
Pure Gold
Crowley’s Books
Choice Chests (Various Materials)
Most of the rewards that give Solomon’s Tears require some dedication— signing in every day, using a lot of AP, defeating the boss a lot, etc.
Like I said, they want us to put some time into this. (And it’s fun!)
Event Shop - Gamer’s Soul
Tumblr media
I, stupidly, did not screen shot the shop before purchasing things. So not everything available is seen above. However— the best part about this is that all items available in this shop available using the grind-able event currency “Gamer’s Soul.”
It’s a worth it grind, especially if you’ve been lacking on Tears of Solomon. You’ll see where to grind these when we go over the story levels.
What’s available though?
One-Time Purchases
Minhyeok’s Warm Panties— his new event artifact (also available through the banner)
Voice Lines
Stickers
Lesser Keys of Solomon (3)
Greater Keys of Solomon (20)
Daily Purchases
Solomon’s Tears (30)
Devil Jellybean Choice Chest (3)
Devil Gummy Choice Chest (3)
Devil Pudding Choice Chest (3)
Hallucination Devil Pie Piece Choice Chest (3)
Hallucination Devil Pie Choice Chest (3)
Beginner’s Nightmare Candy Choice Chest (1)
Intermediate Nightmare Candy Choice Chest (1)
Advanced Nightmare Candy Choice Chest (1)
Artifact Enhancement Stones (3)
Obviously prioritize what you need in the moment— personally I’m stocking up on those damn tears now that they’re available.
Event Story Levels
You can expect the typical story level layouts here, too. Meaning, a story level followed by a few battles leading to another story level.
The event is quite short— but the story levels themselves have some length to them, and are quite cute
The battles are very easy—requirement level 10–and very open and accessible to beginners just starting out
The unique part of it, however, is at the end. You’ll find a repeatable boss stage here, with three difficulties.
Tumblr media
This is where we’ll grind those Gamer Souls!
Like Dark Sanctuary, you need to beat the previous difficulty before you can move on to the next (so no jumping right to advanced)
There’s no listed level requirements, so just try them out and see how you do— they’re not too bad, and there’s no repercussions for losing
I’m beating Advanced with a party of 4 level 40s and 2 60+ units but I’m sure it’s doable at lower levels
Beginner
AP Cost: 25
First-Clear Reward: 20 Gamer Souls
Repeatable Reward: 10 Gamer Souls
Intermediate
AP Cost: 27
First-Clear Reward: 30 Gamer Souls
Repeatable Reward: 15 Gamer Souls
Advanced
AP Cost: 30
First-Clear Reward: 40 Gamer Souls
Repeatable Reward: 20 Gamer Souls
If you’re looking to take advantage of the shop and all the rewards in it, most of your time is going to be put to these for a while— don’t stress about it though, there’ll be more events to come.
Okay! What does Minhyeok do, though?
Tumblr media
Our human buddy has gone through some things— so now he shares some of Satan’s power. He’s essentially S-Grade Satan— even donning a little bazooka in battle.
It may be because Satan hates me and won’t come home, but I’ve been enjoying using him on my team so far!
(Though his first promotion was an accident. Whoops. Don’t click blindly, now I’m committed.)
Basic Information:
Unit Type: Marksman
Element: Light
Paraphilia: Melcryptovestimtntaphilia
Grade: S
Typing that paraphilia out was something. It looks like I keyboard smashed.
Skill - Borrowed Power
Tumblr media
“Draws a Cross of blood using Satan’s powers to attack the enemy.”
A basic attack with a long range— good for keeping him out of the fray while still doing good damage to the enemy. He attacks slow, though, keep that in mind— his ultimate will help with that though.
Ultimate - Complaining Helper
Tumblr media
“Calls Sitri to drink his blood and call forth Scythe of Blood, which he swings at a 7x7 area to deal great DMG. The hit enemies are affected with Bleed for 4.00s, and the furious Sitri’s effects are added to double self’s ATK SPD for 15s.”
Sitri’s not happy, but he’s helping out! This is a wide range ultimate that afflicts bleed to anything it hits. Great for crowd control!
Essentially Minhyeok is mini-Satan. If you have Satan and want another like him, here you go! If you don’t, here’s something to use while you pine for him. (One day, Satan. You’re gonna come home.)
What about his artifact?
Tumblr media
Personally… I don’t like it much. It’s not a bad artifact, but I don’t see anything in his kit that says he needs that amount of HP increase? I will say— bonus points to them for being “Hellvin Klein” though.
Great for units that need a lot of HP (30% at level 1? Yeesh)
Not personally what I’m going to equip him with, because I feel there’s better options.
I’m not using this on him, but if you want to go for it. It’ll increase the amount of damage he can take if an enemy slips through to him (because he should not be at the front lines!)
I’ve actually got Satan’s L-Grade Artifact “Silky Hair” on him— but anything that gives a bonus to his damage or his bleed effect status would be greatly more beneficial than this one.
What should I am to give him then?
ATK SPD and ATK buffing artifacts
Artifacts that enhance his bleed effect
Artifacts that simply have more utility on the battlefield (Semi-Permanent Marker, Shiny Leather Gloves, etc)
But hey— the HP% won’t hurt him either, if you want to pair him up with the one that came with him.
(Also yes, I’ve gotten Satan’s Silky Hair two or three times now but not the man himself. He’s torturing me.)
Hope this helps someone out!

To make you forget, if only for a while
Tumblr media
How the kings (Satan, Mammon, Leviathan, Beelzebub) alleviate your fears and worries, at least for a little while— as best they can, and in their own unique ways.
I love the utter filth that comes from this game, but sometimes a little fluff is welcome, too. If this does okay, I may see about doing some of the other devils as well.
Also yes, I do fully believe that there’s no way Leviathan doesn’t have a larger source of water in his home— his bathtub just being his favourite— it’s not as though he’s going out to find any.
Oh, and I went with “Bell” as Beelzebub’s nickname, as it’s what Mammon calls him in Chapter 3.
Content Warnings: Mildly Suggestive (Mostly Beelzebub), devil behaviours, brief mentions of alcohol, brief & mild mentions of depression, (lightly described) anxiety
Reader: Gender Neutral
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your voice had fallen silent, trailing behind the trio in front of you— and Satan cursed himself as he came to realize far too slowly that you’d withdrawn. His steps slowed, turning his head to see just what had garnered your attention… but was left with a foul taste in his mouth as he discerned what exactly it was. Your eyes were gazing down a street visible from where you were, seeing the frantic devils working tirelessly to restore or save their homes and businesses. Fires were being quelled, devils saved from rubble— trying their best to survive. Satan knew, however, that you weren’t simply watching, he could see how your eyes watered, bordering on tears, as you walked helplessly along.
In your racing mind Satan knew that you were blaming yourself entirely, allowing yourself to wallow and drown in the guilt that had begun to eat away. The look in your solemn eyes told him everything— it was a darkness he was all too familiar with, one that gripped him often, one that was difficult to escape from, especially alone. He wanted to stop, to tell you that none of this was your burden to bear, that not a single citizen of Gehenna would ever blame you. You hadn’t asked for any of this, hadn’t wished for an angel and Satan himself to whisk you away into chaos.
Yet all the same he knew those doubts and worries would not be easily assuaged, that your mind would inevitably take his words and discard them as if they were worth nothing. No matter how sincere they may be.
No, Satan knew that words were simply not enough, not for this— not for the gravity of the weight you felt on your shoulders as you looked out into the destruction and havoc. Instead, he decided, quite quickly, on another course of action that always helped him when he needed it the most.
His pace halted entirely, not having to wait long before you bumped carelessly into his back, not realizing he’d come to a full stop in your stupor.
“Satan?” You questioned, breaking free from whatever thoughts had held you. “Did something happen?” You glanced towards Sitri, as if trying to see if he’d heard someone approaching, or trouble nearby, but he shook his head.
“No,” He placed his hand atop your head, smoothing your hair out gently. “Nothing’s changed… I just think we need a break.”
You pouted, studying his eyes and expression. “A break? I’m fine…” You lied through your teeth— he’d already learned your little human quirks, at least partially.
Your protests, however, went unlistened to, and you were given no more time to voice your concerns. Satan pulled you close, holding you around your waist as he had so many times before and started down an unfamiliar alleyway. Not once did he look back to ensure your companions were following, knowing that they, too, completely understood the situation— you however, felt lost.
He led you, primarily, through the alleys and side streets you hadn’t yet seen, keeping away from the carnage you’d been surrounded by. His pace was quick, determined, keeping you against him as he trekked. You couldn’t quite grasp the sudden change of plans and direction, but your trust in Satan allowed you to relax and follow him as best you could (though you were sure without his arm around you, you’d have stumbled multiple times already). You knew that Satan would never harm you, not intentionally.
And, as expected, your intuition was correct and your trust well placed. There was not a single sign of danger where you now found yourself. In fact, it appeared more like a safe haven, mostly left untouched by the chaos that the angels had wreaked upon Gehenna.
It reminded you of the bar that you’d stopped in to rest before, though even more lively. It was larger, decorated with more lavish designs and furniture. Within were dozens of devils, relaxing and laughing with one another— and each and every one rejoiced when their king came through the door. Shouts and hollers, an energetic flurry of motion as they led your ragtag group further into the depths of the building. Not once did Satan release his hold on you.
It warmed your heart to see how joyous his people were just to see him. Though, it alarmed you quite readily when their joy, energy, and questions were also turned towards you. They offered everyone drinks, began to loudly tell you all manner of stories from their lives here in Hell. It as a flurry of motion, of attention and an infectiously rambunctious attitude— a wonderful and welcome feeling, compared to the ghastly reminders just outside.
Satan and Sitri — and even Ppyong— joined in on the revelry, encouraging the energies around them and rallying the morale. Unlike the last visit to a bar that you’d had, this time it was simply for fun and leisure. Satan kept you steady on his lap throughout the whole affair, hand idly massaging your sides or your thigh. You could feel his gaze on you every now and then, though each time you glanced back you were met with a shockingly gentle smile, and encouragement to pay more attention to his people.
He kept any grabby hands at bay, and a few were sent flying with a well-placed kick upon their weaker frames— though this did little to quell them, if anything it had only added to their adoration. Though you noted that with each attempt to get just a little too close to you, his hold would grow a little tighter, he’d pull you more fully into his lap and against him with a snarl.
You hadn’t laughed as much as you did then in what felt like your entire life— hadn’t met so many new faces, or heard such crazy tales, each one more absurd than the last. You leaned back into Satan, nestling yourself close to his warmth and comfort. When he turned to glance your way you stole a kiss from his parted lips— choosing to ignore the whoops and calls of the others in the room— and caught him off guard.
His eyes were wide as you leaned towards his ear. “Thank you,” You murmured, so quiet you were sure that only he (and perhaps Sitri) could hear. “For bringing me here, Satan.” You knew how much he cared for the denizens of Gehenna, how much he treasured and valued each and every one of them. And you’d realized that’s exactly why he’d brought you to such a place, at such a dire time.
In your moment of heartbreak and darkness, he’d brought you to them. To a place you were sure he’d probably often escaped to himself when his mind spiraled and he couldn’t quell it alone. He was showing you that these devils could be your safe space as well, your light out of the darkness that plagued your heart.
His people were his respite, and now they were yours as well.
This king of Hell had done so much for you, in such a short time… saved you more times than you cared to count— so you allowed yourself to enjoy his, and his people’s, company well into the night. Until the drinks finally slowed, and he’d ushered you to a place to rest on the upper floor. It was then that he returned the kiss you’d stolen earlier, with fervour, as if imploring you to realize that you were never alone in this.
Tumblr media
He was alarmed— his gut telling him something was amiss, even if he wasn’t quite sure what it may be. Mammon knew only that it had to do with that faraway look within your eyes, almost as if you were looking through the brilliant gold around you rather than at it— it was not admiration, not his coveted greed, it was nothing. Mammon couldn’t understand why you weren’t pleased with your surroundings, or what all you may be thinking… just that he didn’t like it.
He wanted you to look around and desire it, to want the world despite knowing that it was already yours, as he was. He loved to see your eyes alight with a fiery passion, your heart just as full… but somehow you had fallen far, right under his nose. A human folly, he was certain, and not one he had ever encountered. Yet this? This he did not want, he did not covet this new experience, this new emotion. He wanted to be rid of it.
Mammon lifted you with ease, and without warning, breaking your senseless focus immediately, drawing you towards him effortlessly. You clung to him in surprise, steadying yourself though you knew that to Mammon you weighed nothing— he’d proven that already. You wound your arms around his neck, legs finding purchase on his hips, exclaiming his name in your surprise. His strength always amazed you— then again, he was simply amazing overall.
His silence continued as he pressed a warm kiss against your forehead, holding you close with one arm, while pulling your head closer with the other before it settled on your cheek. Your face flushed pink, dumbfounded at the gentle touches he’d graced you with.
His deep voice rumbled as he spoke, and pressed against him as you were you couldn’t help but shiver at the feeling of the vibrations. “What is bothering you, MC?” He questioned, eyes that looked like molten gold peering into yours with concern.
You stared back, silent, unsure how to answer— or if you even should. You worried your lower lip with your teeth as you pondered, not missing the way his eyes flicked downwards at the motion, how he held you a little more tightly. “Nothing,” you finally relented, though accompanied by a forced smile that didn’t quite meet your eyes. “I’m alright.”
Mammon did not know doubt, or lies— you knew that your words alone would calm him, come as a reassurance that there was nothing to worry over. And you told yourself that you would do better to keep your worries hidden. A white lie, you decided, was the better way to go.
Even if the weight of all the events thus far was pressing down around you, exerting more pressure with each new battle you found yourself surrounded by.
Yet, despite your reassurance, Mammon’s brows furrowed, and he shook his head. “…While I do not know—or even understand— doubt, MC, I know that there is something wrong. I just know.”
He looked pained as his eyes bore into yours, unyielding as he studied your expressions. His grip became a little tighter as he sighed. “Can you not trust me?”
The question made your breath hitch, and you shook your head rapidly. “I trust you!” You reassured, your heart wrenching at his assumption. Of course you trusted Mammon— with everything in you, you did. You just didn’t want to burden him with your worries, your fears, and your guilt. You’d buried it so deeply within you throughout your journey that you’d thought that maybe you’d somehow escaped it… but it had consumed you the moment you’d finally attempted to rest, comforted by the massive devil’s presence. “I do. It’s just… it’s nothing, really. I’m just worrying over everything that’s happening here in Hell— if Satan hadn't saved me…”
His eyes widened, and his forehead bunted against your own. “Never think that way, MC. Nothing here is your fault— and there is no devil in Hell that thinks that it is.”
“Everyone is ecstatic that you’re here— even more than when they see me!” He continued, placing slow, soft kisses on your face between each breath.
You knew he was right, deep down. That if it hadn’t been you, another descendent of Solomon could have just as easily ignited it all. It wasn’t your burden to bear, just as much as it wasn’t Mammon’s. Whatever happened to God — the event that had earned the angel’s ire— was still a mystery.
You sighed, your eyes glossy as you looked up at him once more. “I know, I know. I’m sorry.”
“No need for apologies.” He straightened again, adjusting his grip on your bottom. “Just tell me when these thoughts plague you, and I will reassure you of every worry— I am yours, after all. You have me at your side to deal with whatever you feel you can’t. You are the only being to ever have this, the only one I’ll ever give it to.”
He grinned, sharp canines glinting in the light that shone into the room from the elegant (yet gaudy) golden windows, and you couldn’t help but smile— genuinely, this time. “Thanks, Mammon. I’ll keep that in mind.” It was strange, you thought, that he could so easily clear your mind with his promises alone… but when you looked at him, it also wasn’t hard to see why. He was powerful, confident— and he so proudly declared himself yours it was difficult to not believe him, to rely on him. “Aren’t you getting tired of holding me up, though?”
Your attempt to change the subject earned you a hearty laugh, that shook you in his arms. “Never!” As if taking your words as a challenge he tossed you upwards before catching you just as effortlessly, before securing you once again against him. “And if you don’t believe me, I’ll parade you around Tartaros to prove it.”
“Please, don’t!” You laughed, though you could see that he was absolutely considering his own words. “Mammon!”
“It would do you well to go out— and you can still rest as long as you’re in my arms.” You hit his chest, grumbling about how impossible he was— but there was little you could do to stop him from walking out the door, with you still held close. Though, despite your protests, you really didn’t mind— Mammon was right, seeing the devils of Tartaros going about their daily lives, seeing their smiling faces as they saw their king, and you… it really would do you good.
And, though you didn’t give him the pleasure of telling him, being held by Mammon was the safest place you felt you could be. Untouchable, secure, and comforted by his warmth.
Even if it was still a bit embarrassing.
Tumblr media
Your mind was elsewhere, lost deep within unwanted thoughts that forced their way through despite any efforts to hinder them. Leviathan, in a way, couldn’t fault you for it— you were only human, and your entire world had been upturned and threatened. But Leviathan himself was at your side, seated just an arms length away— could you not even consider him a worthy distraction? Surely his presence alone should earn your gaze, at least? Yet your eyes were staring at the floor, your brows furrowed.
It irked him, stirring feelings in his heart that made his eyes narrow and fists clench— especially when he wondered just what it was you would finally use to alleviate whatever thoughts you were unable to escape. Whoever, or whatever, it may have been, even if imaginary, made envy seep through him.
Had he not proven he would go to great lengths for you already, without question? He’d even gone outside of the sanctity of his home for you, protected you from angels at the cost of his own wellbeing.
He sucked in a breath, steadying himself from whatever spiral he himself had nearly fallen into— now was not the time, not when he could simply take your attention for himself and eliminate the threats from the equation altogether. Motioning with lithe fingers, ropes quickly fell from the inky darkness of the ceiling above, entangling you despite your surprised protest. At least you’d called his name in your alarm.
The ropes dragged you closer to him— surprisingly gentle— and you wondered what his plan was, recalling just how pleasurable it could be to be bound before this devil king. Yet only your jaw was slowly traced by a singular long finger, no further touches gracing your skin. Instead his pale eyes met yours, contemplative. He did not seem exceptionally angry or upset, in fact he appeared oddly calm for having called on his favoured ability.
And then he stood, sighing, leaving you where you were. “Come, then.” He spoke, a chill running through your spine— from suspense or anticipation, you weren’t sure. Yet despite ordering you to follow, he hadn’t intended to give you a choice to begin with, the strong ropes moving you for him, just behind (but so, so careful not to damage your frail, human skin).
He spoke nothing of where he was taking you, barely acknowledging that you were with him at all. At times his intense gaze met yours, as if checking on your wellbeing — though you surmised it was to ensure your attention was on him, as he wanted.
Any complaints you had, though, died on your tongue the moment he opened large double doors with a wave of his hand, and you were greeted with a marvelous sight that you couldn’t quite comprehend.
Within it was not quite the same castle-like structures you’d come to know, it was somehow more cavernous while still retaining its elegance. In the center was a pool, of sorts, though if you were to describe it properly it was more akin to a man-made (devil-made?) lake within the confines of Leviathan’s estate. The water’s surface was reflecting all across the walls and every item it could reach, creating a beautiful, moving pattern that was hard to tear your eyes away from.
You wondered if you should really feel as surprised as you do, that he had such a place tucked away, being as fond of water as Leviathan was.
“Very few have been here, Child of Solomon. I don’t allow it.” He spoke bluntly, those agile fingers motioning for your freedom (and oh, you knew what else those hands could do). “But,” He continued, turning to face you. “It appears you need something to distract you. Come.”
His hand extended towards you, waiting impatiently for you to take it, and despite your surprise and tentativeness you did just that. He led you towards the waters, still fully clothed and unperturbed. “Wait— shouldn’t I get a bathing suit, or something?”
He stopped, a quizzical look upon his beautiful features. “If you must worry about your clothes, just remove them.” As if assuming you would do just that he released your hand as quickly as he’d taken it, stepping into the water without waiting any longer for you to decide.
It wasn’t hard to see he belonged there, his pale skin practically glowing in an ethereal light. Soon enough he vanished into the depths, only to resurface a ways away, floating lazily despite the weight of his clothing.
Hastily you joined him, donning only your undergarments (not quite as confident within such deep waters while being weighed down). Yet when his hands were on you you knew that even if you even began to sink towards the bottom, he’d keep you afloat with ease. “You’re only the second outside of myself I’ve allowed in here.”
“…Why?” You murmured, enjoying the feel of the small, cool waves on your skin.
“Because it’s mine.” A simple answer, blunt as always. “But … so are you. So I don’t mind you being here, as long as your attention is on me, MC.”
Your heart felt warm as you realized how much you meant to him— that he would break his own comforts for your own, in a way. Even if it was borne from wanting your attention only on him and nothing else. “Sorry, Leviathan,” You murmured, pressing a kiss to his cheek, which met with a strong hand pulling you closer to him. “For being so distracted before. Thank you for showing me this.”
He hummed in response, more taken with your body in his arms than with your gratitude— though you could very easily see he enjoyed it.
He’d succeeded in claiming your attention, keeping it upon himself with ease now that you were reminded that not everything in your situation was a bad thing. That you had devils like Leviathan at your side, and that they would do anything to assist you. Leviathan, who so rarely let others in but who opened himself to you without thought or hesitance.
Even if Leviathan’s needy hands barely gave you a moment’s rest, itching for your touch at every turn. You’d give him everything he wanted— how could you deny him, after all?
Tumblr media
The room felt as though it was nearly split down the center as Beelzebub glanced around— on one side was the chatter and planning, a tense atmosphere of grumbling devils attempting to decide what to do… on the other, was you. Around you was quiet, abnormally so— the devils had let you be, he supposed it was to give you time to breathe and catch up with everything that had transpired.
Yet to Beelzebub, you simply looked pitiful, too sad for his liking. Your eyes were staring blankly out the window, sitting idly and unmoving on the sill. Yet you weren’t really looking at anything, your eyes barely moving even when there was an outburst on the other side of the room, or a bird flew by your window.
Clearly, despite what the others may think, you didn’t need time to yourself to breathe. In fact, it seemed as though leaving you to your own devices was only making things worse in that little human mind of yours. And, being who he is, Beelzebub was more than willing to bend the rules and expectations just to make you smile again.
He could sense Bael’s cautious yet curious gaze on his back— unwilling to believe that his king would simply sit idly. And he wasn’t wrong, really. Yet Beelzebub didn’t do anything immediately, instead standing and making his way over towards you rather languidly, lazily as though he just wanted to banter with you—despite being told to leave you be.
You didn’t react to his approach, or even seem to hear his intentionally loud footsteps, utterly lost in whatever thoughts were plaguing you. If this were another time, or he were any other devil, it may have been concerning how unaware you were of your surroundings in an unfamiliar environment— even if it was safe.
However, he was not another devil, and was still Beelzebub. He looked at this, instead, like an opportunity he simply couldn’t let go of and let pass by. In one swift motion you were hoisted upwards, a garbled noise of surprise escaping you as you were thrown over a strong shoulder. His hand kept you steady, lying comfortably on your lower back (if a little lower than necessary). Instinctively you reached out to grip anything you could to ground yourself, hands clinging to whatever you could reach on him. You knew that no matter how irresponsible Beelzebub may be, he would never drop you, but it was still difficult to settle when you’re quite literally thrown like a sack of potatoes.
“Let’s go out and play, MC.” His voice was a purr, adjusting you quickly before the others could react and taking off out the door with a surprising burst of speed— you hadn’t even known he could move that quickly!
There was chaos behind you near immediately, and you could see the others— particularly Bael— preparing to stop their quick-footed king from escaping, especially with you in tow. However, as much as the efforts were doubled by your presence, they were also incredibly hindered, not wanting to harm you in any way while attempting to stop the ever-troublesome man.
“Bell!” You protested, though he could hear your insincerity within your voice, a bubble of laughter escaping you at the audacity of the unanticipated situation you’d found yourself in. “Where are we even going?!”
The gloom that had surrounded you already began to crumble, and he laughed as he replied. “Somewhere fun!” He didn’t elaborate, however, as he dealt with the devils in his way, deftly outmaneuvering them.
Looking back once more, you couldn’t help but pity Bael, seeing now what it was he dealt with, but at the same time you were thankful for Beelzebub and his free spirited nature. You’d forgotten that, though the situation was incredibly serious, you were still allowed to have fun.
Almost as quickly as it had begun, the chaos came to a close, Beelzebub successful in his escape, and you now safely hugged within his arms after he’d set your feet back down securely to the ground. His grin was positively infectious as you took a step back from him, and you had to stifle your laughter. “There!” He exclaimed, fixing your hair idly as he spoke. “Now, let’s find someplace fun to waste some time in. Let’s let loose, MC.”
Grasping your hand he pulled you along through the streets, searching out a familiar haunt that would be filling in with devils soon. He didn’t pay mind to the confused looks he got along the way, loudly talking with you all the while. He didn’t let you rest until you’d arrived at wherever it was that he’d thought of.
The rooms were dimly lit, but there was a well-stocked bar at the far end of the largest one, the music blaring from speakers already despite guests just beginning to filter in. It wasn’t terribly large, more quaint than you’d expected for Beelzebub, but it was clear he was a common sight there, as no one batted an eye in his direction as he led you further in.
You clung to him as the crowd steadily grew, unwilling to be parted from your guide— and it wasn’t as though you disliked touching Beelzebub, either. There were certainly no complaints from him, either, as his hands groped and prodded your body in return. It wasn’t long before he led you to the dance floor, where his hands explored more boldly, front pressed against your back as you swayed to the music.
You knew it didn’t matter if you were any good at dancing, Beelzebub simply wanted you to lose yourself to the music, and more importantly with him.
It wasn’t difficult to persuade you, letting his body guide your movements, losing yourself to his touch and the vibrations in your body from the sounds around you and the mesmerizing lights.
You could hear his praises when his hot breath ghosted by the shell of your ear, sharp teeth toying with the cartilage. His lips finding your neck, his hands dipping lower— it was so easy to lose yourself with Beelzebub, that your worries melted away. Not even the inevitable repercussions that were to come from your escape could bother you.
You were thankful for how carefree the king who held you was, that he’d decided to encourage it within you, too.
Though you weren’t sure how long you were among those on the dance floor before Beelzebub inevitably led you towards the dark bathroom, your bodies barely parted for a moment. You locked the door behind the two of you, opting to lose yourself to him in another way, even if someone heard you.

Just out of reach
Can’t get this thought out of my head— Mammon’s too damn adorable. And the Kings’ relationships with one another and their antics is just aghhhhhh.
Tumblr media
Mammon and Satan, bickering endlessly as you look on, watching the spectacle unfold— knowing full well that even if you deigned to interfere, it wouldn’t stop the Kings from continuing. So you look back and forth as they go on, wholly embarrassed with each claim that you ‘owned’ them more thoroughly. That one was closer to you than the other. That you were theirs.
Mammon’s tone was playful and amused, a smirk on his face as he stood with utter confidence, arms crossed over his broad chest, while Satan grew more agitated by the moment, smaller frame practically vibrating as his teeth gnashed in frustration. At times the duo would look to you, but they would interrupt themselves before anything fruitful could come of it. As embarrassing as it was, it was also quite amusing— you knew that even if it did come to blows, it’s just how they were. Yet Mammon suddenly paused.
Satan’s complaints died off as Mammon smiled, tilting his head to the side as he seemed to contemplate, golden gaze drifting to you. It happened faster than you could comprehend it— large hands on either side of your middle, lifting you effortlessly, as if you weighed no more than a kitten. Protests died on your tongue as you found yourself settling atop his shoulders, seated behind his head with legs on either side of his neck, one hand grasping at his remaining horn for balance. “Mammon!” You squeaked, taken by surprise and unsure of what he could possibly be thinking.
Yet when you settled you found yourself staring down at Satan, still grinding his teeth and glaring up at the other King with narrowed, rage-filled eyes. And you realized it all at once:
Mammon had essentially done the equivalent of taking a toy from a toddler and putting it out of reach— and only by using his massive, intimidating stature.
And, similar to a toddler, there appeared to be an incoming tantrum, as well.
Yet Mammon seemed unbothered, his laugh bubbling up as he watched the other’s expressions twist— and then he simply walked away with you still atop his shoulders, ignoring the protests of Satan and all of his insults and threats. He knows Satan could reach you if he wanted, but he wouldn’t risk your safety by simply pulling you off, either.
Rather than give Satan attention, he simply asks you what you would like to do that day— after all, you’re his and he is yours, and he will give you everything. Yet all you can do is sigh, accepting that you wouldn’t be getting out of this anytime soon. Though, being carted around by Mammon himself really wasn’t such a bad thing.
Perhaps not the best way to end the bickering, though— you were sure it would only escalate later.
