Gemity was born in Cosmo Canyon to a woman of Lumia descent who fled SHINRA HQ. Her mother was known as subject CMLXVII and Gemity's existence had been kept secret for a time while her mother joined the Crystal Coalition, a band of crystallographers and elemental mages. But her mother was sick—full of mako that poisoned her bloodstream—and when Gemity turned 9 years old, her mother passed away leaving her in the hands of the guild's leader who pledged to safeguard not only Gemity but the planet’s life force.

For a while, growing up, Gemity had kept her abilities a secret, mostly out of fear that the overwhelming force within her—the power to crystallize planets—would cast her out from this sanctuary she had come to love.The guild members, who should have feared her most, showed understanding and compassion. In their company, she found not only protection but also a sense of purpose. They believed her power was not a curse, but a natural balance, a wild magic that, if harnessed correctly, could protect the very life force they vowed to guard.

This harmony was short-lived when the Shinra Electric Power Company had caught wind of her. It wasn't long before black-clad operatives, the Turk agents, began sniffing around the canyon, their eyes hungry for the power they’d heard Gemity possessed. To Shinra, she represents an asset too valuable to ignore; her Lumia legacy inherited from her mother could be the keystone in their quest for ultimate control. However, Gemity shows no desire to align with their insidious objectives.

Still the company, driven by Hojo’s insatiable curiosity and Shinra’s unyielding thirst for power, would stop at nothing to have her—even if just to glean secrets from an interview...
