Hollow Knight: Mundane AU

Where everything happens at a much less impressive scale.

Instead of an entire kingdom, it happens within one small town.

The Radiance used to be an influential figure, but after Pale King became mayor (or whatever its small town equivalent is), she’s now just a cranky weird neighbor who keeps spraying orange paint on everything (mostly public property) because she’s salty. PK only has two kids, THK and Little Ghost, and he got them to form a team to clean off the Radiance’s paint. The White Lady is home all day and can occasionally be seen gardening.

Lurien is the creepy guy who stares out his window all day and has six pitbulls. Monomon is the local librarian with Quirrel the intern as the only other employee. Herrah is this weird woman living in a cottage in a nearby forest. Hornet lives with Herrah but often comes into town to just… sort of do her own thing.

There used to be five police officers, but Hegemol quit after his uniform got stolen, Ze’mer quit after her girlfriend died, and Dryya and Isma retired. Ogrim is still around but is mostly seen doing sewage maintenance.

Sly used to be some sort of sports coach. Among his students, Oro and Mato are still running their own gyms out of town, but Sheo retired to become a painter.

Grimm is a travelling freelancer/performer who says he’s only renting a small flat for a month or so, but seems a bit too interested in whatever’s left of the local “politics”.

Everyone may or may not look the same as canon and/or use baseball bats instead of nails.

So uh. I thought about how Phighting takes inspiration from Splatoon. And then I had a thought, a horrible thought.

“What if I took the hypnoshades and put them in Phighting.”

And then I proceeded to slap them on Medkit because I love making him suffer.
