S C E N T E D - when you've been sitting on an idea for a week, it's safe to say you've committed to the idea. I couldn't get LYS out my head....so I went back to get some travel size sets. LYS was introduced to me by a worker there named Amelia.She described it as what Hawaii would smell like if it had a scent..AND she was no wrong. If you can imagine walking through the hawaiian rainforest right after it had just rained in the middle of the summer afternoon. I found out yesterday on my way home from work that my cat Nin got ran over.  He was found limp, panting, and holding on for dear life in our garage by my Mom. My Mom rushed him over to the 24hr emergency hospital (VERC) where they immediately took him to the back to stabilize him. Initially we thought he was poisoned because we didn’t see any obvious puncture wounds or blood. Xrays showed a fracture in his femur and pelvis region, possible ligament tear in that same leg, and potential neurologic/nerve damage.  At minimum he would need his femur repaired and the rest we wont know until he is under anesthesia. It’s extremely difficult to access and palpate with an animal awake and in extreme pain. I was in my 2nd year in college and in my 1st year as a Vet Tech when I met Nin. He was found by a client whom at the time could not care for him. He had to be bottle fed every 3 hours for a few weeks before I could get him on regular solid food. Nin became my reason why. Why I went to Vet Tech school and found my dream job helping animals. Up until now (12 years later) he has not had any health issues and is an in/outdoor cat. He yearns to go out and sunbathe. Which is why he was outside to begin with. He usually keeps my grandmother company (but she’s currently also in rehab from being hospitalized with pneumonia/kidney/heart issues). We were given an estimate of $6,000-8,000 for his medical care and potential surgery. It's really touch and go and there are still a lot of details I'm waiting for (blood work, xray interpretations, consult with a board certified surgeon). Even though it's hard for me to ask for help, I want to provide Nin with the care he deserves. He is a fighter and always has been.  All donations will go directly to his medical bill and aftercare. Thank you for the prayers and those who reached out. She has been discharged and is finally home back in her recliner chair. It's been such a huge relief knowing shes on her way to better health. But the battle has just started, we have a way to go. But if theres anything I know, it's that my grandmas a fighter! Shes beaten cancer twice by the grace of god. OBLIQUES - the idea of it at first scared me at first and now....I actually prefer it over any type of pen / technique. It teaches you patience and shows you what rushing does. For me, it's meant for intent. Were so use to the hustle and bustle of everyday life that we dont realize or take time to appreciate the little things.
