with my "he lived" au, luke was left as the theory in f&b goes, without his memories and is raised temporarily by an old fisherman who drug him out of the seaweed. this man never gave luke a name, and as he could not recall his own, was dubbed: "the boy". luke stays with the fisherman for as long as any plot deems nessecary, but i do believe it is long enough for his death to impact and start events that need to happen for the plot of hotd/f&b to grow. that being said he is eventually found, and his memories do start to come back :) that being said not all of them return to him, he has holes and gaps in his memories, and a weak leg with heavy scarring.

HIS BROTHERS CAME FIRST, BEFORE NEAR ALL ELSE ! the lengths he would go for them knew no bounds, ππππππ’π' πππππ π πππ πππ πππππ ππ ππππ ππππ πππ ππππ β but aegon was too young yet to know the whole of that particular tale, that and the fateful event above shipbreakers bay that had left luke still, with holes in his memories, a limp to his leg, and without a dragon.
" we can bring some to vis, too; ππ π π'ππ ππππ ππππππ. " luke's smile only grows as it is met by aegon's own at last. his youngest brothers were particularly lucky with luke, as he'd had practice with joff before they were born, perfecting older brother as it was. that and it helped that this particular mission of theirs had been executed time and time again in the past, only with three heads of dark hair trailing after one another. ππππ πππππ, ππππ ππππππ, πππ ππππ toddling after as third.
carefully they descend the nearest set of stone stairs, luke making sure to keep his weak leg up to pace. though most days the old scarring did not effect him much, during storms the bone still ached- and when over exerted he was left with a noticeable limp. ππππππππππ’ πππ πππππ π πππ πππππ ππππ πππ’, and as they traverse to the final landing where the kitchens reside further down the lengthy hall, his limp is damn near invisible. " are you ready, aeg? fast as stormcloud. "
" sweets ? " he repeats, briefly unsure - if luke believed it was okay, did that not make it so ? but he is nothing if not cautious boy, not to be blamed for the way he hesitates before stepping to his side, allowing himself to be led. " will they have lemon cakes ? mother won't be too upset at us, will she ? " yet he would like nothing more. the only thing he would like perhaps, more then that - would be to see his dragon stormcloud. yet finally does the boy smile, " i think we can. if we do it quietly. "
