“Are you saying that my daughter won't be admitted to this hospital? Do you know who I am?”
The woman shifted from the chair, her right fist stomping the hard marble table in front, keeping her eye contact with the director as she spoke. Mrs. Susan Parks is one of the VIPs at Chung Allied Medical Hospital. “Do you know how much money we ‘donate’ in this hospital? Do you know who you’re talking to?” She repeated the question. Even with a lowered voice, the emphasis on every word was enough to send a message. Of course, Madison is aware of her title. Her daughter was brought to their emergency room after being involved in a car wreck, which prompted the meeting.
The patient had been given first aid, and other than some little cuts from the shards of glass, she seemed to be in fair health. Unfortunately, the other casualty is a seven-year-old child who was hit by her automobile and is in a life-threatening state. The daughter faced additional charges of DUI, and she had to undergo multiple tests to validate her innocence. But her mother knows just what to do in order to fabricate the claim.

“Mrs. Parks, we have hospital protocols. I just can-”
A forceful slap across Madison's face took her off guard. Her cheeks were scorching, her face drained of every color, and her hand balled up in her lap.
“Soniya, how dare you talk back to your imo like this?”
As Susan Parks is Richard's second cousin, every fiber in her body started to feel the way it should have just by hearing how she addresses her. Anyone can study medicine. Human anatomy and its functions, in addition to its location, could be taught in school if one wants to pursue a career as a doctor. Though, you won't be able to gain all the knowledge necessary to work in the field from these books alone. One should understand the value of hands-on learning from experiences such as these. Madison can easily succumb to her desire to confront her, dismiss her status, and abandon all of her hard-earned worth if she acted in the same manner and allowed her feelings to overpower.

She pushed all her menacing ideas aside and regained her composure before continuing. “Mrs. Parks, I see you are unable to comprehend the gravity of the situation at this point.” Madison paused to look at her. "First responders described the scene as extremely chaotic, with intense emotions running high for both those immediately involved and others who observed this horrible accident. Based on the clinical assessment of your daughter's situation, it appears that she exhibited sufficient negligence to drive herself home while intoxicated.” Even though it was irksome, her tone didn't show it. She did not take her eyes off Mrs. Parks as she approached her seat. “You're not even being polite enough to reach out about the victim's condition, and you have the gall to act in this way in order to protect your own reckless daughter.”
She eased her back on the edge of the table, facing her, with both of her arms crossed in front of her. “And now, all mighty and proud, you get up on your high horse and plead—okay, not really—demanding that something be made up to show that she is nothing but guilty of charges.”
With a mocking chuckle, the woman raised her palm above her head, poised to strike her once more. Madison managed to catch it this time before it reached her cheek. “I would stop at nothing to link your daughter to this tragedy in the event the child dies. Let me also remind you that she faces a maximum indeterminate sentence of 5 to 15 years in jail and a minimum indeterminate sentence of 1 to 3 years in prison if she is found guilty of vehicular homicide. And until she faces the consequences she deserves, I refuse to give up.” Mrs. Parks’ reaction was one of disbelief mixed with bewilderment. “And you think anyone would believe some mediocre doctor over me?” Susan pointed out, snatching her hand back from Madison's grip.
The doctor raised her hand as though in a cue and revealed her phone, which continues to display its recording. The woman was taken aback when she learned this and immediately covered her mouth with her hands. Madison began to feel a sense of satisfaction, and a smile grew on her lips. “Don't worry, Imo. I'm sure to get your good side,” she whispered as she leaned in to speak with Mrs. Parks. Then, she steered their gaze toward the CCTV camera located behind the woman before leaving the room and her inside.
