Wingledon and Antlitty

Wingledon and Antlitty are a fanmade breed called KittyBonez. The Siamese was used as a base for this one, without any behavioral changes made. Wingledon was named since he will grow wings, and Antlitty was named since she will grow antlers. I plan on breeding the two to see what comes out of it! The breed is silent and requires Siamese sounds, which are linked below with the breed. The folder found in the .zip goes into the Petz5\ptzfiles\cat directory.

Violi

This is a larger sized single colored Beacon Cat named Violi. Just like the instrument called viola, only with an i at the end. She has a plain white lantern on her tail and the only petz she gets along with are the ones who come to play in the different playscenes.

Terry and Spideygirl

These are spiderz, a breed created for Catz 5. Terry is the larger one with a fluffy body while Spideygirl is the smaller one with the blue body. A friend gave Terry his name because he looks soft and fluffy. Spideygirl is an unoriginal name picked out by me. These spiderz even have their own sounds! I look forward to mating a big hairy spider with a small sleek one. Unfortunately these guys are picky about their food, and will only eat unless they’re starving.

Adding a breed with custom sounds is a bit different from adding one that has internal sounds. Both breed file and sound files are linked at the bottom. Spiders_c5 contains a folder called “spdr”, the breed file, and a readme. You can ignore the folder and the readme if you follow these directions. First place Spiderz.cat in your Resource/Catz folder which will put the Spiderz breed in your game. To make the sounds work with your spiderz, go to the Petz 5 folder (which has your Adopted Petz and Resource folders) and make a folder named “ptzfiles”. Go into your ptzfiles folder and make a folder named “catz”. After you make this folder, place the “spdr” folder you will get from the spidersounds zip into the catz folder so that the file directory reads Petz 5\ptzfiles\catz\spdr. If you do this right, your spiderz will make hissy spider sounds!

Chichi

Chichi is a Chinchilla Persian, one of the breeds available when you install the game. For some reason I always seem to catch her with angry eyes, which looks pretty funny on a tiny little cat.

Yellered

Yellered is a small sized Beacon Cat with the three warm colors and a wire lamp with a blue flame. Carrying the yarn ball in her mouth when I took this picture. I picked her name as a portmanteau of yellow and red since at first glance I thought her eye colors were yellow and red, but then I realized they’re actually orange and red. Her best friend is Snowflake the American bobtail, and they amuse each other with countless hours of fun. Petz who are best friends will stay close to the other and bring each other toyz, and sleep together. If you put one pet away, the other will become sad. With the game open at the same time I’m writing this, I discovered that with the music box playing, Yellered sings while Snowflake dances or sings.

Lutz and Snowflake

Lutz and Snowflake are fanmade American bobtails by Vickie. Lutz is the brown one on the top riding on a sled in his cool camouflage hat and Snowflake is the white coated girl staring right into your soul. The two don’t play nicely; in fact Lutz doesn’t play well with anyone. Snowflake on the other hand loves to play with Yellered, her Beacon Cat BFF.

Buster

One of the first dogz I adopted after installing on Windows 10. Buster is named after a chihuahua that an aunt had. He was quite the character, and always got super pissed if you picked him up.

Grebluvet

This is a breed called the Beacon Cat, a figment of Vickie’s imagination born from boredom at a lecture. He is my most prized Beacon Cat out of the many that I have, because his coloring is just gorgeous. I actually picked out his name because of his coloring, green-blue-violet. Beacon Cats come with black, gray, white, or brown fur and I believe either one or three colors. The ones with three colors have two different colored eyes.They come in two different sizes, and some carry a lamp on their tail while others don’t. The reason why I think his colors are so perfect is because they are the three cool colors, and are perfectly contrasted by the warm colored red lamp. Those winglike structures on the Beacon Cat’s back are not actually wings according to Vickie’s bio on them, they are a type of signal tower. Grebluvet is the larger of the two sizes, by the way.

Gigi and Georgette

Gigi and Georgette are poodles, one of the breeds included when you install the game. The two don’t get along; Georgette is a little brat who chases Gigi who just takes it and runs away like a little crybaby. Maybe things will change when they grow up...I hope so. It should be interesting breeding a poodle with gray skin and black fur with one who has pink skin and white fur. Gigi is a pain in the ass when it comes to eating, he’s even more picky than Georgette. I have the PetzA program by Sherlock Software installed so it lets me see the different sliders that represent a pet’s needs, and he will only eat when the fullness level reaches 5 or below. If he stops eating after the level rises above 5, he’ll start complaining all over again. It’s such a pain in the ass.

Shiro and Toadette are two Bufos made by Vickie. They are a breed which starts out as a tadpole and grows legs as it ages. Shiro is the boy and Toadette is the girl; I wonder what colors I’ll get if I breed them. The download is found below and has an additional texture file that must be placed in the Resource\Dogz folder. They are silent.

This is Bandy, a modified dogz breed called the VPZ Snake. The breed doesn’t have any sound, though that would be really cool if it had hissy sounds. Bandy loves her squeaky.

How to Install Petz 5 on Windows 10

In order for Petz 5 to work on a Windows 10, you must NOT install the game into the default program directory. Instead, before you attempt the install, go to your C:\ drive and make a folder there called Games. Next, go inside this new folder and make a folder called Petz 5. Once you make these folders, insert your disc and choose the option to install the game into a different folder. You guessed it, you’ll be installing the game into the C:\Games\Petz 5 directory you just made. Also, be sure you change your screen resolution to 1024 x 768 or you will have deformed origami petz with no eyeballs. Any higher resolution will confuse the game and cause the graphics to display incorrectly because at the time of its creation screen resolutions only went as high as 1024 x 768. Hopefully this will work for you!
