She closes her eyes and soaks in the therapeutic heat of the spring. Before opening an eye toward the other woman.

“ Raiden Ei, it been a while since I last heard of Liyue other than your archon has fallen. I assume everything is fine there? People from Liyue are very hard-working and with high self-efficacy. ”

Habit told her to laugh off any nonsense decree that tried to stop her from sailing where she had to but contrary to what some might think while she maybe bad about following some of Liyue’s laws, in foreign waters she was careful to never to be blatant about it.

“Course, course. No stepping on any toes.” She lied, then switched back to being completely honest with the flip of a switch, “but believe me the woman that I gave a ride here isn’t someone anyone can just say no to. She seems to know exactly what she needs to do to get whatever she wants.”

She watched her current company and after hearing what the other woman had to say couldn’t manage to force any semblance joy on her face, shrugging she leaned forward and rested her elbows on her knees. 

“Yeah, after his passing it was chaotic for a while but before we knew it the Qixing had taken full control of everything. Heard rumors here and there of people claiming that the whole thing seemed awfully beneficial for them but I never believed a word of it, even less so now. But- wait hold up a minute... I must have been hearing things but you said Raiden Ei, right?”

There was no way. There had to be some other explanation. “Are you named after the Raiden Shogun?”

She breaks her thoughts at the sound of the traveler talking about her to others and well others. Since the over-ruling of the decrees, it was expected for words to spread like wildfire and that resulted in visitors to Inazuma coming in waves.

The shogun crosses her arms and looks up at the artificial skies of the realm with a small grin at retelling the moment.

“ Well, it was interesting circumstances since I wanted the traveler’s head in a sense for being an enemy to eternity. After our battles, they showed me what I truly did to my land as a harsh wake-up call and I’m still coming to terms. We are in good graces because of their will and strength. ”

She snaps her attention back to the adeptus way too quick and stares at him blankly.

“ I hear you’re a warrior so I’m assuming they gain your good graces similar way? ”

He didn’t feel right claiming that the traveler had came into his life in a similar way yet saying ‘no’ and leaving it at that just felt wrong. After all the traveler’s effect on Liyue deserved far more than a single word answer.

Besides he knew that they had a long trip to where the Traveler was going next and it wouldn’t surprise him if whatever has the traveler busy at the moment would leave them that way for a while.

“Not quite...” he answered, “I had met the traveler and Paimon after they came searching me after the death of Rex Lapis... or what we thought was his death. I would say our friendship truly began after they put themselves through a great deal of danger to save Liyue.”

And then for reasons far beyond his understanding decided to befriend the man that nearly led to the destruction of his home, the smaller details be damned.

“That is simple the bare bones of the matter. It is a very long story, and I’m sure the traveler or Paimon could explain it far better than I. Though it does not surprise me that they managed to turn you from enemy to friend, the traveler seems to have a way with people.”

“Yeah something like that. I travel here once in a while when there’s money on the table and someone needs a crew that can get through the worst storms.” Beidou said, slipping into the warm waters one foot at a time before sitting down beside the other woman.

It felt good as she let her muscles relax. “Or well usually that’s what brings me here. This time around we were just making a little stop for a friend of mine. She had some business and needed a Captain and crew that were reliable.”

And what a trip that had been. She almost forgot just how prissy Ningguang could be when she didn’t basically have to live with the other woman but the Ningguang’s ego sure was good at making a huge ship feel tiny. It was a relief Ningguang felt to prudent to try an onsen. “Anyway, since we’re chatting name’s Beidou. I’m from Liyue.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was an odd sighting to see the almighty shogun in the Aisa bathhouse. That explains the high influx of customers but no matter — she brushes out her hair while sitting down on the bath stroll ignoring the hushed whispers of other female citizens.

She ties up her hair and stood up to take a dip in the cooling spring water. It may be a copy from the springs in Naltan but it was still a soothing experience. Raiden closes her eye just for them to be shot right up at the sudden noise. She looks over at the source to see a woman riddled in scars and a joyful grin — squinting to remember who was this woman but she already enter in the waters.

If there was one beauty to traveling the seas it was getting to enjoy the little wonders other countries enjoyed that would never appear in Liyue. Onsens just happened to be one of them. 

She had a couple of her female crew members already there, she could see both chatting amongst themselves as they were heading out the changing room. She could see on their faces that they seemed to be reconsider staying as their eyes darted over to a woman already there but Beidou decided not to ask question why as she grinned back at them and promised to meet them by dinner time.

Whether that reassured them or not she wasn’t sure as she slipped over to kneel a polite distance from the woman they had been staring at, curiosity spiked she asked, “don’t mind if I sit next to you, do you?”
