Just to be 100% clear, I DON'T HATE Shadow Milk.

He's a very fun character. He's so silly, he literally has a hat for his hat.

I'm just sad White Lily wasn't the focus of her own story. It felt heavily centered around Pure Vanilla, and I understand that their stories are so intertwined and connected with each other, but White Lily just felt so, she's just there.

Idk. My grievances for White Lily accidentally spilled over to Shadow Milk, and I apologize for that.

This is going into headcanon territory (bc I haven't gotten that far into the story yet), but I'd like to think their curse was broken when Dark Cacao defeated the two of them.

Defeated but not killed, because I don't think he'd be comfortable knowing he killed these guys when they were basically stuck in an endless cycle of suffering. Since Cacao also holds the lightning element, I'd like to think he was Stormbringer's apprentice at some point, and had the power to help them.

But it's all just speculation on my end.

So I got to the next cutscene, and this is what happened to the Black and White Dragon

Jk, hmmm. I'll be honest, I wanna adopt the cacao trio (Dark Choco, Carrow, and Crunchy Chip), mainly because,

I feel bad for Dark Choco, I wanna give him a hug and a mug of hoy chocolate.

Caramel Arrow is my favorite and my (2nd) 5* promoted cookie (Cream Puff beat her).

Crunchy Chip is fun and I like him.

Honestly, I don't like how the characters try to push the narrative White Lily and Dark Enchantress are different people.

Yes, I understand that that's a flawed way of looking at things, and trying to free her from blame, but at some point, they have to accept that yes, White Lily still commited genocide, not just with the Golden Cheese kingdom, but also the original Vanilla kingdom, and the other kingdoms suffered heavy losses as well.

The hollyberrians were forced to flee their old kingdom and rebuilt it after the war. Dark Cacao watched many of his soldiers die, and his own son become an accomplice to her rampage.

It's understandable that the characters try to disconnect White Lily from all the terrible shit that happened, but I don't like how they forced White Lily accept their views on the situation.

She's right. She is Dark Enchantress, and Dark Enchantress is her. They need to accept that.

Like that could've been such a great conflict to explore in the story, but NOOOOOO, they added this beast villain who basically stole White Lily's entire story.

Like, I haven't seen any threads or post analyzing her character the same way Golden Cheese, Dark Cacao, even Black Pearl got. Nothing. Nothing about White Lily.

It's all Shadow Milk, Pure Vanilla or Elder Faerie analysis(es). No such thread like that for White Lily. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places...

The point is, her update was such a let down because it WASN'T ABOUT HER.

We don't even get to know more about Dark Enchantress aside from being a separate being now.

Sorry for the long rant, I was genuinely burnt out during the White Lily update and couldn't play, and now arena is unplayable if you don't have White Lily (which I don't).

I don’t like what the White Lily split does for Dark Enchantress

Now I mean in theory, White Lily being split into two beings that represent different aspects of her, one being Dark Enchantress sounds cool. But my issue is, White Lily split into Dark Enchantress and…White Lily again. But like, less powerful, I guess?

Like it just makes Dark Enchantress look like some evil byproduct rather than an aspect of White Lily and one way she processed her trauma. Because this other White Lily is basically the same as the old one, same memories and personality. By all accounts she’s the real White Lily between the two, she’s the one that keeps basically everything as far as I can tell, other than needing to be revived. White Lily just has to defeat her evil self, that’s really it

Sure Dark Enchantress has all the memories and previous emotions of her old self as White Lily, but she’s not the true White Lily, or the one everyone refers to as the real White Lily after learning of the whole split thing. That goes to the new one

Sure White Lily considers the two of them the same person, but no one else does

I don’t know, I feel like it takes away the nuance and tragedy that came from Dark Enchantress once being White Lily. If the new half of White Lily was a different character who represented different aspects of White Lily but wasn’t really like the old one, I’d accept it a lot more, with them being the two halves that make up this morally grey character. But that’s not what happened. Dark Enchantress is just the evil byproduct of White Lily’s tragedy at the Witch’s Banquet

While doodling the cookie ponies, I have just realized that the staff from PV's faerie costume didn't actually lose its eye.

It's there, it's just hard to see. They should've made the iris white or a pale green to contrast the blue. Here's a small edit I made

It was probs his mom's christmas party, and Clotted Cream couldn't go, so he just told Financier to go without him.

The spirits then manifested into the neopolitan ice cream trio and basically told him to go to his mom's party.

Oh yeah! Just like to add that the spirits manifest into forms that are familiar to the person they're speaking to, mainly because their true forms aren't set in stone.

Also the three of them are dating. Whoop.

I felt Choco fit the Turtle best because of this paragraph especially,

Wait that's actually really cool! I thought about making him the azure dragon, but I really like the symbolism behind the turtle. I need to do a bit more reading behind each one of the symbols, thank you for sharing this with me.

What if we got Dark Cacao Cookies costumes based off of the 5 heavenly beasts that represent the 5 chinese cardinal directions?

The 2 dragons (the golden one is sometimes depicted as a qilin), the tiger, the tortoise (sometimes depicted as fighting with a snake), and the vermillion bird (or phoenix?).

I think that'd be fun.

And yes, I do know the Dark Cacao kingdom is based on Korea and korean influences. I just think it'd be a neat costume line.

Also, I'm very sure Korea has its own take on the chinese mythology, but I can't seem to find it atm, so bare with me.

Anyway, the 5 heavenly beasts are said to be associated with the 5 cardinal directions (Wind, Earth, Fire, Water, and Metal).

Idk. I wanna read more about these heavenly beasts, but as of now, I only have wikipedia and this article to base off on atm.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and who you'd associate with who.

Out of curiosity, does Elder Faerie/Pure Vanilla as a ship exist out there? I don't remember anything from the White Lily story (shocking /s), but I did think he and Vanilla could've been friends had they been given the chance.

PV didn't even seem to hold any pettiness or grudges against him when he essentially had a very close relationship with White Lily (possibly romantic? Idk. Many people think it was romantic. But they were intimate friends I think.)
