"Papa Machete" is a glimpse into the life of Alfred Avril, an aging subsistence farmer who lives in the hills of Jacmel, Haiti. He also happens to be a master of the mysterious martial art of Haitian machete fencing, also known as Tire Machèt. Teaching about the practical and spiritual value of the machete—which is both a weapon and a farmer’s key to survival—Avril provides a bridge between his country’s traditional past and its troubled present. The film documents his proud devotion to his heritage and his struggle to keep it alive in the face of contemporary globalization.

First, I want to thank those have given me opportunities to be surrounded by their presence, whom don’t need a pat in the back for their efforts but will enjoy watching me succeed.  For without their collaboration and help, I would not be able to become what I am today.

After 27 years of leaving the homeland, on the first day for the rest of my life and career;I was privilege to be reminded of one passage from the Bible that inspired me even further to write this.

“The Kingdom of God Is Within You”

While waiting at a restaurant nearby I observed:  “But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Mathew 6:33 written on the wall above me. And it immediately reminded me of what was said in “‘The Kingdom of God is inside you.’ The Ancient Syriac Versions in Support of the Correct Translation…” Luke 17:21  which basically said that within you is the power to change any situation according to what you want it to be.  It is as I believe supported by Jesus, whom all religious entity respect and observe that said: if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Mathew 17:20

Bottom line, trust that you are able to manifest whatever you desire by putting work; for opportunity will come, but will you be prepared…

As God is nature so are you, for in the earth you shall return; as God is omniscient, so are your legacy (You). I say make your marks while you are here just as Jesus put His marks for all to see… Enjoy everyday from now as you would the last days of your life.

In Memoriam of my cousin, John P. Noel

I remembered the teenage year when my cousin John would do what he felt and how he cared about all those around him; that was commending.  Yesterday sadly, I received the news of his passing then I started to question whether I fully lived. I know as two individuals there are different choices on what is comfortable, what pleases, and mainly what our desires are. 

To those that are living by their ways; keep on keeping on.  And to all, experiment and overcome for “Life is about what you make of it…“

Life is a natural phenomenon that can teach us through experience who we are and what we are capable of. And just like time, life continues on a cyclic pattern that give us the opportunity to make changes. Now it is up to the individual to know what they strength and weakness are to excel. Through contemplating on what is available with no stubbornness someone can achieve the greater goals, by utilizing resources that are most of the time available. Someone can also realize their potential by staying on a cyclic path. A path, sometime necessary to gain experience. I say leave no stone unturned...

I've been contemplating on writing my thoughts for sometimes now instead of sharing it with my close friends or maybe some unfortunate soul that is around when I feel talkative. Anyone that knows me can attest to me being a quiet kind of person. Being quiet aside allow me dive into my perspective on life,love,people,things, etc. Let me be the first to admit is that when you are trying to do something there are always obstacles that get in the way. In the case of me deciding to write these few lines, there were many obstacles to overcome. Making the time, focus on writing despite all distractions, and even continuing in the future. It will take measures of commitment and focus. Subjects will differ from time to time unless there is a demand. I am a man of love, tenacity, and of course patience. Focus is deep to my core. But to stay focus requires patience, tenacity, and love. Love with a passion to achieve the goal at hand. I love to commit myself to projects that others may not see beneficial and get a commitment to get things accomplish by any means. What is there to a man not to commit to an agreement reached. If you claimed to have been devoted to the task just by saying "yes I can " or "yes I will"; a simple yes suffice in my book, why can't you devote at least an effort until you realize that you are not capable of delivering. You could have said "no" from the go; or you can at least address the situation at the point you changed your mind. The point is simply, know what you can deliver and accept who you are. If there are changes to be made and you willing to make thing happen then make those changes. You would be at peace with yourself because you were honest enough to admit your today's capabilities. Your future might be totally awesome in greatness. Of course there will be some individuals that will, get upset for whatever reason; let them be. Everyone has the equal right to change their mind. It may have been an obstacle that arise out then air. Someone else may have affected your outcome so things have changed. You can adapt, regroup then address any affected party of that change.
