Chapter 1: In the Words of God: The Mo Family Corporation Will Be Seized and Closed in 3 Seconds! (1)
“Quan Jin!”
“You evil woman, you want Nuan Nuan to die so badly?!”
In the lobby of a five-star hotel, a very cold male voice suddenly erupts. The guests who came for the wedding suddenly all felt shivers down their spines.
And then all with a look of distain on their faces, turned towards the girl.
She had a height of less than 160cm, with skin that had a sickly yellow tint, and a bloated face that made her appear slightly overweight.
If there was a medical expert here right now, they may be able to see that Quan Jin’s body was not right……as if she had been taking in medicine which destroyed her nerves and physical development for an extended period of time.
“You know her heart isn’t well, but you actually told her that we were getting engaged today?”
Mo Qing Tian coldly looked at the girl who didn’t speak a work.
“You think that if anything happened to Nuan Nuan, you, a nominally-adopted daughter of the An family, would be able to replace Nuan Nuan’s place as the An family’s only princess?!
“Why don’t you take a good look in the mirror!”
“You’re short and ugly, you’re of lowly status, and you don’t have any merits. If you didn’t have a heart which just so happens to be a match for Nuan Nuan, you think I would agree to getting engaged with you?”
“I’m telling you now, I want to puke when I look at your face!”
The girl being yelled at right now is this engagement party’s female lead.
The only daughter of the number one rich and powerful family in the city of Jiang.
Quan Jin.

毒妃在上,邪王在下 Review
Initial Thoughts: The beginning was great. No clingy side male/female characters, female lead was clear-cut in cutting off relationships between the trash of a thing you call a father, many foreshadowing to great plot twists, good development, typical male lead but with an interesting twist, good mix of humor and story. But as it approaches the middle of where the development is at right now…things begin to go downhill with the female lead. Otherwise, it’s still a great novel. Many of the great things I mentioned above still exist. But the author’s attempt of pushing forward the male and female lead’s relationship with unnecessary events and misunderstandings is completely redundant. There are ways to develop a relationship without misunderstandings. The male lead is repeatedly doing things for the female lead, but her trust in him is so low.
Moral of the lesson. Communication in a relationship is key. This is what they lack. The male lead is also at fault too because he never explains until after the female lead does whatever after the misunderstanding. However, that’s another thing.
Rating: ★★★★★★★ = 7/10
Reasoning:
Although it was initially good (character’s personalities, plot development, etc) it later became more and more…blah. The reasons I loved the characters slowly started to dissolve and they became the type of character I disliked.
The male lead is still good; he evidently shows character development in his quest to get the female lead to marry him
There are not really any side character romances flocking around; making unnecessary romance development between the female and male lead --- which is good, because I believe that these types of characters are not required solely for this purpose
The female lead was initially very good. Cool headed, loyal, skilled, decent process to becoming strong, not clingy, independent, etc etc. Everything needed for a strong female lead. HOWEVER. When it comes to romance, the writer makes her IQ instantly drop to the single digits. Okay, this is still acceptable. She may have high IQ but low EQ. Can happen to some. But when she loses her qualities when she falls in love with the male lead….
There is nothing wrong with changing slightly when you fall in love. But not like this. She becomes hot headed, disregards others, FORGETS IMPORTANT THINGS, selfish, self-assuming, not trusting the male lead…and so on. I’m sorry. But I don’t this this side of her. This is not a quality I appreciate in novels with strong female leads.
Now that I think about it. Even before then, she somewhat already lost bits of her qualities when she FORGOT ABOUT THE MALE LEAD when he was technically in danger (well, he totally could’ve handled it by himself, but she just abandoned him because of another emergency incident happening at the same time). It’s also not the first and last time the female lead just leaves the male lead in danger.
Pros:
®    Decent plot
®    Great male lead
®    Good mix of humor and development, has some sad moments too
®    No/not many side characters for the purpose of pushing the romance between the male and female lead
®    Female lead has her mind on…most of the time (and when she does, awesome.)
Cons:
®    There are times the female lead loses her mind (IQ drops) – mostly involving the male lead and romance moments
®    Slow character power-up (which is not always a bad thing; some just prefer OP characters more quickly, like me)
Conclusion:I...don’t think I can continue reading this. I love everything about the male lead, the foreshadowing, etc. But I really cannot stand the female lead’s personality when it comes to romance. It’s a breaking quality for me.
It’s a shame too because if we changed that, I would really love this novel. My initial rating was 8 or 8.5; and I was even considering translating some of it as practice. Sigh.
