Oh Lordy Lord, I LOVED THIS! 

This book is just what I needed, I’ve read so many multi-book series recently I really needed this one off book to enjoy. 

Poppy and Alex have the friendship that you could only dream of.  Also can I have Poppy’s job please?  Being paid to travel the world? Sign me up! 

I’ve seen lots of good things about Beach Read so as soon as I get through my other books I might just purchase those :-)

The BBC has today announced Ncuti Gatwa is the new Doctor set to take charge of the TARDIS.

Star of stage and screen, Ncuti is best known for his critically acclaimed performance in Sex Education as the iconic Eric Effiong, for which he was awarded Best Actor Award at the Scottish BAFTA’s in 2020 as well as numerous nominations including Best Male Performance in a comedy programme at this year’s BAFTA’s.

Speaking of his new role, Ncuti said: “There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling. A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared. The Love Hypothesis

Oh dear, here we go again.  I’ve fallen in love with yet another fictional character.  ADAM CARLSEN WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!!

I want to shout from the rooftops at how much I love this book.  I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy it that much because there was so much hype around it.  But, my God, I LOVED IT!

The only criticism I have is, I would have liked a little more details on the main characters, I couldn't really picture what they looked like ( I know it’s based on fanfic but I was trying super hard not to picture them as Kylo Ran and Rey. ) But that's literally all.  I loved everything else.

I enjoyed the pace of the book, thought all of the characters had a purpose to the book ( which sometimes I feel like there are too many side characters in some books and I struggle to keep up with them all. ) 

I am a total simp for the Grumpy X Sunshine trope.  It’s just my thing. 

When Adam said “Focus, sweetheart”, you all just know I had to set my book down and take a deep breathe.  

Honestly, I think Ali Hazelwood injected crack into this book because I couldn't get enough. 

Can't wait to see what other books she publishes, because I will definitely be investing.

after perusing twitter for a bit, i have stuff to say so have some more twotq content.

what we're not gonna do is be fucking racist because you don't like the joining. if you can't criticize it without using slurs, then shut your goddamn mouth.

what we're also not gonna do is twist canon around.

the joining was always implied to have sexual undertones. it just was. it was set up that drinking blood from someone can be a sexual experience.

casteel and keiran are basically soulmates. casteel trusts keiran with poppy. he always has. this idea that he walk cucked or betrayed is fucking stupid and degrading to their relationship.

poppy, cas, and keiran have been in sexual situations together.

keiran heard cas finger poppy in the forest, the night of the wedding, when poppy woke up from her assention. their dynamic has never not had at least touches of sexuality in it. it's simply a fact.

i mentioned it in another post but i really think that these ideas of monogamy as the only true form of love that are so ingrained in our society are really what's pushing this victimization of cas and it's fucking ridiculous.

all three of them wanted it, and their dynamic really didn't change afterwards.

a giant portion of the fandom is just blowing this so far out of proportion. it would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating.

The War of Two Queens Review

TWOTQ review, will most likely contain spoilers....

First of all, to those of you in the fandom that didn't like the book and are being extremely rude and hateful towards Jennifer, shame on you.  I'm not speaking about those who didn't like the book and are discussing the points in groups respectfully, I’m talking about those who are sending really unkind messages and rude posts / reviews.  Firstly, nobody asked for your opinion, nobody made you purchase the books.  If you didn't like it, that's a shame but cool move on.  The fact that Jennifer has taken a step back due to her mental health is such a shame and the time that she should be celebrating her release has now turned into such a difficult time for her.  That's all I have to say on that matter, now for the review.  

This was a wild ride.  I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be purchasing and reading the next books. 

I do agree that Kieran was a bit more touchy-feely in the book when Casteel wasn't there, I didn't think there was anything wrong with that but I did feel a bit strange as he wasn't always like that.  I’m not complaining though, just a new thing to get used to. 

I loved reading in Casteel’s point of view, I thought it brought a fresh feel to the series and it was really interesting reading and seeing the world through his eyes. 

I really like Malik, I think he is so interesting and that he has loads of layers to him.  My jaw DROPPED when we found out he was The Dark One, I didn't see that one coming at all.  I feel like he will have a redemption in the next book and other people will like him.  I mean we forgave Hawke / Casteel at the time for literally kidnapping and originally planning on killing Poppy, surely the fandom can forgive Malik?

Millie is certainly something.  Not sure how she's going to play out but I'm interested to see how her story unfolds.

I’m a simp for Nektas and Reaver.  Give me all the drakens, I’m obsessed. 

There was so many cute moment in the book that had me screaming and squealing.  My previous posts can probably show my emotions more, haha. 

Let's talk about The Joining... Man, I was ready for some hot and nasty stuff to go down, to my surprise it actually wasn’t.  It was well written and really enjoyable to read in my opinion.  I think because The Joining has been hyped up by the fandom to be this super intense and smutty experience it was really refreshing to not have that.  It was hot don't get me wrong but just in other ways.  The banter between Casteel and Kieran during it was so them, I'm glad they were like that and when they were teasing Poppy it just felt so right.  Might sound a bit strange but just my opinions. 

Oh my goodness, when Poppy went full Primal and summoned Sera?! I was like “YES GIRLLLLLLLS” honestly, what a moment.  

Anyway, let me know your thoughts.  I’m really interested to see other peoples point of views on the book and what scenes you enjoyed / didn't enjoy as much as you thought?

I’ve just finished TWOTQ…

Honestly what’s everyone crying about, I genuinely think that’s one of the best books in the series!

I’ve seen so much hate around this book and I honestly can’t see why. Jen have us exactly what the WHOLE fandom has been asking for, she gives it to us, and everyone’s running around screaming and crying. Get a grip people.

I’m truly obsessed. I’ll post another post soon when I’m not sat at my office desk currently simping over the characters, again😂
