“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
(Romans 10:9-10)
I did my post graduate studies in Japan and in Japanese. It was extremely hard. However, the hardest part wasn't actually the language, but how isolated I felt. I received no support from teachers, staff or classmates. I was pretty much left on my own. I was a beginner in the language and by the grace of God i managed to complete my courses. I do love Japan and it's people but i always warn people that it's hard to live there because unless you can speak good Japanese, people will avoid you and not help you.
I would LOVE to hear from anyone who went through university studies in a language that isn't their native one! Share your experiences!
How did you manage ? What was the most difficult part ? What language learning level were you at before you started the course ? I am so curious about all of the details !!
Jesus died for me! That's something that is hard to wrap your head around. But it's the truth. But why? The answer is in the Bible.
1. He loves me. "...the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
2. He died in my place. The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6).
On the cross, Jesus took the punishment I deserved for my sin. He did not deserve to die, but He willingly took my place. As the old gospel song says, “He paid a debt He did not owe; I owed a debt I could not pay.”
3. He died so that I could freely come into His presence. "...we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19).
4. He died for me that I might have eternal life. “God… gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”, (John 3:16).
And so much more... to set me free from Satan's Kingdom, to heal me, to make me His child. All these wonderful things that Jesus accomplished through His death can be yours if you have faith in Christ.
"And he [the Lord] brought him [Abram] outside and said, 'Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.' Then he [the Lord] said to him [Abram], 'So shall your offspring be.'"
