As the night continues Dawson and his comrades get into some of their own action and fights. Dawson made it out this time. All he could think about was Emma. He really hopes he can keep his promise to her and make her his wife. He knows next time he may not make it out alive.

Since it was Easter Emma and Chyanne bring warm homemade clam chowder and home baked cookies to the bases near the nurses compound. Emma happy to see her love Dawson embraced him and briefs him on the latest happenings.
Emma meets back with Chyanne to return to the compound. They suddenly hear sounds of gunshots. "Uhah" sputters Emma "time to go" said Chyanne in a hurried tone. "Emma I warned you that this was dangerous" Chided Chyanne Emma knew she wasn't wrong but she was happy to steal a few moments with Dawson. She also knew her friend... and Chyanne was one who liked caring for the soldiers. Chyanne didn't know that Emma would see her secretly donating her knitted sweaters and socks to the soldiers.

Alicia takes care of Opal and gives birth to her own little girl alone. Alicia was filled with Joy and sorrow. She knows Elan would have loved his beautiful daughter. She snuggles her sweet baby close savoring the only part of Elan she has.
She cares for both babies but it's hard alone in a small fishing village all on her own. Alicia knows what she must do. It saddens her bc of her last memories.
Alicia decides for her and the children's sakes to move back in with Elan's family. Jacob and Elu are overjoyed to have their oldest son's wife back in their home especially with their granddaughters.
Elu had hoped Chyanne would have come as well but was saddened by the news that all of her children were apart of the war effort. She realized none of her children were safe from this horrible war.

Emma joins the war effort as a nurse to be closer to Dawson.
Shortly after Opals birth Chyanne also joins the war effort as a nurse. With her reputation ruined back home she figured this might be a way to try to redeem herself. Though she missed her precious Opal terribly.

Chyanne moves in with Alicia. So they could help each other through the death and the birth of Chyanne's daughter Opal. It wasn't long after Elan's passing that Alicia found herself pregnant.
Alicia helps Chyanne with her labor. Unfortunately Chyanne also finds herself alone with an unsure future. She receives word of Charles's being killed in action.

Soon after Elan decides to go off tho war. There is news of his swift death. It leaves Alicia heartbroken and unsure of her future.
*Note: The new neighborhood stories actually chose the fate of Elan before the dice could. I was pretty saddened by this.

When Emma returns home she hears what sounds like arguing between her Alicia and Elan.
Behind the closed door. Emma was correct Elan and Alicia were passionately discussing Elan making the choice to go to war to protect his young brother.
"we just moved here Elan...what about making a family of our own?" "It's not fair" cried Alicia "Alicia darling it's not that simple, things have changed. Our country is now involved" said Elan as much as Alicia wanted to deny it she knew that in this free country she had fallen in love in, you had to continue to fight for the rights and freedoms. The sufferage has taught her that. Alicia softened when she thought of all she would do to protect Emma. "Alright Elan" she paused. He strokes her cheek "Come back to me"

Elan's brother Dawson also joins the war. Emma learns of this from her sister and brother in law Elan that Dawson is heading off to war. She put on her best dress and made the long journey to Henford to share quite possibly the only and last tender moments with Dawson. "Dawson before you leave I want you to know I'm in love with you" said Emma she leans in for a kiss he kisses her back "I'll make sure I come back and make you my wife" said Dawson

Meanwhile Chyanne (Elan's sister) finds some romance herself with the wealthy Charles Taylor. Unfortunately this may be the last time she sees him as this was a night he bids her farewell as he is planning to go off and join the war effort.

He assures her. "It will be a great opportunity for us, a chance to finally begin our family" said Elan. Alicia understands he's right it's been hard living in his small family home with ALL his family. Though she loved his family, she wondered if maybe being in their own space might help them have more success in having a baby.
